As christians we must have complete trust in our Heavenly Father. Even as we struggle in life. As I constantly struggle to provide for my two autistic children I keep faith. Faith is all I have. It is truly the only armor against the enemy. As a single mom things are hard on me. My health is fading I suffered a heart attack two years ago and I’m battling lupus. Every month is a struggle to get by. I struggle to pay rent and struggle to buy groceries it’s disheartening. But God lifts me up everyday. He has carried me this far. No matter how hard my financial struggles are I will praise Jesus! I will keep faith because I believe that Jesus is King.
Amen...Keep the Faith...The Lord is With You 🙏💞🙏
❤
Remember, i am. Praying for you. Bless you
Praying for you. God's compassions, his mercies, are new every morning. May you feel God’s love every day. May He speak to you and remind you He is always there.
@ChildofGod98765 God Bless you. I can't imagine. I prayed my whole life for a spouse that never came. I'll never have children now (just turned 60)...and my heartbreak and sadness at never having felt I "lived" as a result of Perpetual singledom. But when I read stories like yours..I don't know if I would have handled as eloquently the challenge of two special needs kids PLUS having no spouse. And still staying positive. A great example for me. I've stayed true to my faith and church as well...even though sad in my heart often times.. the feeling of not having fulfilled what I was supposed to...what's missing....instead I need to focus on what I CAN do and what I HAVE had . Thank you and prayers for you esp this Advent.
The "O" Antiphons are great! They prepare us to celebrate the Nativity ofvthe Lord! God bless you and your work of evangelization!
I really enjoy watching , listening and learning more about our Faith by watching The Catholic Talk Show.
When I went through RCIA in 2021 they suggested that we ADD something during advent to help our preparation: maybe go to daily Mass a couple times a week or do some volunteer work. Choosing to go to Mass during the week got me into the practice of going to Mass everyday and receiving the Eucharist. Now I would think of not going!
I am grateful for your Advent program. Some Christian religions have "Christmas jingles," like Deck The Halls, Twelve Days of Christmas," etc. Catholics have "Christmas Carols." One of my favourites is "Oh Holy Night".
Our priest has vespers every Sunday at 3:00 pm during Advent. We also recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
You three are amazing teachers. I'm already listening to Hallow. I have learned so much I didn't know about Advent from you. THANK YOU.
I'm going to look up fasting during Advent for more information. Blessings. I love the laughter.
Yes! Catholic Advent calendar, LOVE it!
Love your new advent calendar idea ! 👍😊
Use different types of chocolate. White, milk and dark bitter. Color chocolate rose. Shapes too! Hearts, crosses, stars. Filled with caramels and liquors like rum and amaretto. Just a thought.
God bless!
I'm so happy you guys did an Advent show! My first Catholic Talk Show was the one about Lent and I haven't missed one since. I always wondered why you didn't do one on Advent. God bless.
I just happened to look at the Hallow App and today being Cyber Monday, I signed up for 3 months free!! Thanks God for telling me to take another look. And thanks you wonderful hosts for doing The Catholic Talk Show. I love listening and watching you guys. ❤
In our parish and diocese, it is a tradition to have a different person to share a reflection during our nine mornings of Novena, beginning on the 15th of December to December 23rd. In preparation of the message I'll be sharing, I learnt a lot and will be using the knowledge I gained from the team. Continue to serve and to let us learn through you guys.
Most thankful ❤
It's always so fun learning from you guys! Thank you 😊

Would be nice to have an episode about the gospel and how to tell others about the good news versus the bad news.
Please create a CATHOLIC Advent calendar and fill it with sacred art, perhaps from the Vatican!

@thecatholictalkshow
I love "O Come Emmanuel"!
But you guys gotta give props to "The Angel Gabriel", sung by King's College.
It sings of the Annunciation with such powerful reverence and solemnity for that beautiful moment, our Blessed Mother and the coming of Christ!
Yous are doing the latest work brilliant..I’m dealing with granted adhesion at my age I really think theres two sides of a coin with circumstances…I haven’t had much luck with leading myself threw tribulation and judgement I believe more fellowship will help me.😊

I love Jesus and I love Advent and the Hallmark Christmas movies where all is wholesome and good and cinematic proof that there are happy endings in this world. Jesus is the King of Happy Endings in the afterlife. When I was little the tree went up Christmas Eve and stayed up until the Epiphany. However, the creche was displayed from December 1st until the Epiphany. I love all the Christmas carols but Handel's Messiah Alleluia Chorus singing King of Kings, Lord of Lords is a beautiful tribute to our King. This was a lovely and timely episode of CTS. I have been a fan of yours for almost the entire five years you have been doing your inspired episodes. I have learned and enjoyed and will continue to do so. Looking forward to seeing Keith Nester on your show and vice versa! Merry Christmas! Prayers for Jen Dellacrosse and her MRI in January and I hope her four vaccines worked. God bless her please and her miracle healing through the intercession of Blessed Solanus Casey.
Not all movies on Hallmark are wholesome anymore with gay couples being featured in some aspect including gay weddings.
Hi everyone!
Hi!
No need to get touchy about the pink vs. rose label - as an aviation ordnanceman in the US Navy I learned we did not use the color pink - we called it light red.
Holy Darkness is one of my favorite Chtistmas hymns, love the words...
Oh Holy Night
@@reladie That one, too!
❤❤❤❤
Hey everyone! Big thanks for this inspiring episode, guys! Let's dive into the true spirit of Advent - not firstly as a countdown to Christmas, but as a time to prepare our hearts for our Lord's glorious return. Any book recommendations? I love 'The Lord' by Romano Guardini, a top pick endorsed by several popes. Praying for blessings to all during this Advent season, and a special shoutout to Dellacrosse - it's not all about getting ready for Christmas just yet brother! ☁️✨
Thank You..this was very Enlightening....but this year Christmas Eve is on A Sunday...will there be a difference? Have a Blessed Week My Friend in Christ 🙏
Happens every couple years or so. The 2017-2018 liturgical year was fantastic. Christmas Eve was on a Sunday, Ash Wednesday was on St Valentine’s, and Easter happened to be on April Fools
I learned watching a Lucy Worsley documentary on Christmas in the Tudor era that Advent was a time of sacrifice and penitence, like Lent. One didn't start decorating until Christmas Eve. And only nobles and royals gave gifts.
Considering how many people have complained on social media about Christmas merchandise on sale well before Halloween, and people putiing up, and lighting, Christmas decorations well before Thanksgiving, maybe going back to the Lenten tradition has some merit.
We recently signed up for Hallow and then learned that Liam Neeson is one of their prayer and mediation narrators.
How do you respond to being associated with someone who advocated the passing of legislation making the dreadful act of abortion legal in Ireland?
We were also all set to promote Hallow, but after the Neeson thing the pastor dropped it like a hot rock. Had to pull 400 bulletin inserts.
How does The Catholic Talk Show respond to being directly associated with this atrocity?
@@stephenjohnson7915maybe he repented? God knows his heart. I do not.
The Mass readings start to take an Advent theme from Week 32 [mid-November] and also remember we celebrate the great Solemnity of Christ the King on Sunday 34, the last Sunday of Ordinary Time.
A Catholic book I read some time ago describes Advent as 'a time of penance, but not so much a time of penance as Lent'.
Rose coloured vestments are also worn on the Fourth Sunday in Lent [known as Laetare or Refreshment Sunday, or here in GB as Mothering Sunday].
Are you surprised you have British listeners, did you think that all your followers were in the US?
O my.
How can I see/meet my gaurdian Angel
The Alleluia is said/sung during Advent.
Do catholics still do the Jesse Tree, our family did the Jesse tree when I was still at home,I have noticed that this isn't practiced any more
The priest is a pro into the advertisement
Or click the like button I mean
Great show. Thank you. From the 1911 Catechism: Advent or the 4 weeks preceding Christmas Day, represents the 4,000 years mankind awaited the advent of the Redeemer. The Church in 1911 knew creation of earth is young. Genesis also provides proof of 4,000 years since creation by listing what begat who and at the age they did so. 4,000 years from creation until the birth of Messiah and 2,000 years since then. More proof earth is young.
Christmas - The world celebrates Christ's Mass. How odd is that?
Ember days during December continue to be days of fast.
Ember days are no longer part of the Church calendar.
I don't usually pay attention to ads, but the Liam Neeson on Hallow is actually exciting. I've always wanted to do spiritual exercises with Qui-gon Jin.
Isn't he the pro-abortion actor?😮
Yes. He publicly pushed for killing babies in Ireland. Big misstep by Hallow.
Where is the white candle?
10:30
why they don't put white candle for the fifth candle and red candle in wreaths ? 1st is hope, 2nd is faith, 3dr is love , 4th is peace and 5th is light !
Handsome Fr. Priest..but Jesus Trumps everything
At what age should I start my child to abstain from meat?
You can begin that practice immediately…it helps to do it as a family and they will not think that it is unusual.
I’ll make you a batch of Garlic Honey! Honey From my neighbor. Garlic brown in the soil of the only Henniker on Earth!
Awesome, hey aa far as i remembwr 'ad' is a latin predix not greek...check out larin and greek prefix ans suffixes
No problem with rose on Galdate Sunday I don’t have a problem with it. Real men wear pinks
Liam Neeson campaigned for a yes vote during abortion referendum in Ireland. Òn a catholic ap?

St. Andrew's Novena is twenty-five days? That's technically NOT a "Novena", typically nine days. Lutherans Christmas Calanders, Protestant C.S. Lewis, pro-abortion Liam Newsom... Can someone direct me to The CATHOLIC Talk Show?
Why are there no saints of African descent? Apparently there are no Catholics of African descent anywhere on the planet.✝️😰
Where do you get off saying this? There are hundreds of black/ african saints. St. Martin de Porres and St. Josephine Bakhita are both very popular.
@@Horse-Feathers Good for you. At least you got their attention! I didn't think they knew although I brought it to their attention before! I keep looking for statues of St. Martin de Porres, Kateri Tekakwitha, etc. Apparently they are hard to come by.
Why would you try to illicit a response from them by stating such a lie? I don't know why you're mentioning Takewitha after talking about African saints, but statues of her and Martin de Porres can both be easily found online.
You never have been to a Catholic mass obviously. Plenty of African Americans are Catholic Asians too
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE WATCHED YOUR SHOW!! WHY DOES THE MAN WITH THE HAT KEEP LOOKING AT THE CAMERA & NOT AT THE MAN TALKING IT'S LIKE HE'S NOT INTERESTED!!I I CHECKED SUBSCRIBE & I WENT BACK & I UNSUBSIDIZED. GOOD LUCK
Maybe he has a lot going on.
Advent is not scriptual.
The Holy Catholic Church predates the New Testament, but beside that, anticipating the birth and second coming of our Lord is scriptural. How we choose to practice that is in part very cultural, which has always been honored by The Church as to embrace the people when and where they are.
Advent is unscriptural.
🙄
I like the show but I don’t care for the bobble heads. I think they’re irreverent.
