- Finally got back offshore over the holidays. Brought the boat down to Florida for a short trip to West Palm. Miami, the Keys and hopefully the Bahamas to come! Had to fix some issues with the boat and covered some of them in the video. It's always a learning experience owning a boat so if you're thrifty I highly recommend it as it's always interesting and fulfilling. So the autopilot had two issues which were fixed, the refrigerator had a coolant leak due to bad coupling gaskets, and I sidelined a fiberglass project by installing a bigger custom welded backing plate for the stern arch...oh and I changed out my liquid propane gas line from copper to hose!
...okay and a nice long sailing trip was the reward! Enjoy!!!
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas!
Thats a beautiful boat..nice condition
I really like your videos because you say what’s gone wrong and you show us how you fixed it, which I find really interesting
@@Dan-kz6dz Thanks, Dan! Glad you enjoy that aspect of it. It goes hand in hand with boat ownership, ignoring it would be hiding the unsavory part.
Great video, nice boat!
@@SailingSVMontaña thank you twice!
Congratulations on your completion of your solo off shore sail! Good descriptions of repair work. Good B roll. Very good description of the sailing! Excellent video!
Thanks, Rich! May be the best one yet, story wise!
@@SailingRisingSun Absolutely!!!
isn't there another boat named rising sun? a macgregor boat by an oriental man?
Is this a Pacific Seacraft?
It's a full keeled Island Packet 40
@SailingRisingSun thanks. Funny. I actually had Island Packet in my mind when I wrote my comment don't know though why I wrote Pacific seacraft instead 🙂 Beautiful ship. Beautiful trip. Will be following
Thank you. Very seaworthy! Recommend keel type and brand to everyone.
