I have vanford which i got yesterday cos of this channel. I up grade my bearings on my vanford this morning . The anti reverse clutch fell apart, i worked on it for two hours before fixing it. i worked out you need to put the springs in first, then the outside ring, then the rollers after the ring, then the centre sleeve/collar last to hold the bearings in place while fitting the backing plate on. lol what a pain that thing is. You should do a video on the anti reverse clutch. How to put it back together. Great video review thanks.

*Bought a 500 for an ultralight rod. It's very smooth **enjoyable.fishing** recommend casts great. One odd thing- the bale wire is a bit heavy diameter in my opinion for a reel of this size. But a great purchase.*

Great Video as always, I hope the New Ultegra is not like the Exsense BB 3000 MHG(5+1). Very unimpressive, though very smooth and 8.5 ounces. It is a great reel for downrigger fishing. I was not able to upgrade the spool support, rotor support nor upper worm gear bearings. The lower worm gear, oscillating paw and handle bearings were easy. I hope that the upgrade possibility is like the Stradic or Vanford. Did you say next week for the new upgrade video ?

Wondering how you would rate the new Ultegra to the Stradic CI4+. Both are currently the same price basically here in Australia. So it makes it even harder to choose between them.
No worries!! Honestly that’s a very very hard question... I would say watch my comparison on the Vanford vs. the Stradic Ci4+ and see which reel fits your own visual styling the best! The Stradic Ci4+ FB and the new Ultegra ‘21 is an amazing reel! If it were me.........

I know I’ve been a bad content creator! I have so many videos lined up as shot already I just need to edit them and get them out for you guys! I love the support you keep on showing me though! I hated how my line roller bearing on Ci4 doesn't last even rinsing after every use. Do you know if the new Ultegra has a better line roller bearing? Thanks.
The whole assembly is a little different and as long as you pack the bearing with grease it lasts a lot longer! Check out my like roller bearing video on Shimano reels!
It might just be camera angle but it appears that the new reel is larger than the old one. It seems longer overall. I have 3 of the older generation Ultegra 3000s and I love them. Was thinking of getting one for my wife but if it's a considerably larger reel, I might have to downgrade the size. Thanks,
The camera might not have done any justice in proper sizing but I can tell you first hand they are almost identical in size... don’t forget the new reel is also lighter than the old model too so that’s a big plus. The spool is slightly larger being that it’s the long stroke spool and that allows for further casting! Thanks you for the comment!

Carbontex drag washers should work for this reel!?
The reel is nice and all but my problem is for $40 more you can get a stratic

So basically they took the last Gen Stradic Ci4 are selling it as a Ultegra and the Vanford is the NEXT gen Ci4. Kind of like how the Spheros SW inshore is basically a Stradic FK. Shimano is bringing the value!
Yeah basically! Except that the new ultegra has the brand new micro module gear 2 in it and has x protect in the like roller and the anti reverse!! They have been on it with value!!

@@aaronhiggs I've been fishing since 1949 and the Stradic FL is the best reel for the money. My first spinning reel was a Horrocks and Ibbotson Hi-Spin which I first disassembled in 1956

I am from Europe, tried to find it in Europe but it is not yet selling on European market.

Where did you get this reel? Does long spool mean more line? What's the actual line capacity for braid? Thanks
I got the reel a Betts Fishing Center in Largo FL but you can probably fit about 250yds of 10lb and 200yrds of 15lb braid no backing

Just buy a Daiwa Certate LT and make it a one time buy.
I know its expensive but it casts better, light, seals better, quiet and way smoother.
I used the Certate side by side against the Vanford and the Certate LT is on different level
Definitely could see that reel being better but isn’t it about double the price of the Stradic? I thought the Certate was around 500$?
@@WestCoastFloridaFishing yeap i agree its twice the price but compared to the Flagship Stella the Certate LT for me is better value.
But of course its a matter of perspective. For me reels are kinda similar to driving a sports car.
Who wouldnt want to own one if they can afford it. But if people are happy with what they have of course that is ok.

This video was painful to watch, you typically had the reel out of the camera view most of the video other than that it would’ve been wonderful.

Does the 3000 & 2500 Ultegra use carbon washers?
Only the 3000 Size reel uses carbon fiber drag washers!
(Along with the 4000 and 5000 of course)
