This writing instrument reminds me of 149.

I am fascinated by Bill, the Pelikan pen holder. Wouldn't mind having one myself.
Thanks once again for an interesting review. These Chinese manufacturers are definitely rising in my estimation.

😂😂 I won him at a recent Pelikan Hub quiz. He's coming in handy! Indeed, a lot of good things coming out of there these days, a few minor issues but reasonably forgivable for the price point, especially if the nib is well tuned

I purchased one of these pens recently and while I thought it was reasonably well-made and solid, the nib's tines were a bit out of alignment and it required some tinkering and smoothing to correct. It is writing nicely now but I would recommend it with reservations because the quality control at the factory is a bit hit-and-miss. However, the price is right and once it is fussed with, it is a fine pen.

I agree, QC on nibs is always going to be a source of concern. Especially when moving up through price points. In general, I have found the nibs coming out of China to be of a much better standard than they used to be but I have experienced duds from time to time.
To be completely fair though, I have experienced the same issues with nib QC when paying considerably more from European makers, even when buying direct from the company.
      Thanks for watching!

@@SantiagoPens1759 Absolutely. QC is a real problem for all pen manufacturers but China's improved considerably over the last few years. I, too, could name a couple of European pens I've purchased that were disappointing. Subbed!

I am glad Wing Sung used a piston filling mechanism on this pen. In my view that gives it an advantage over the Jinhao. I love the teal colour. My Majohn P136 looks very similar. A pity about the clip ring and finial rings being a bit misaligned. Another review of this pen said the same thing so it's not uncommon. It's probably a bit too chunky for me. I have the Jinhao 159 (original in metal) and the Jinhao X159. Both feel a bit too big for me. I believe £30 for the Wing Sung is good value but I'll probably not take the plunge with this one.

I'm really pleased with this pen, this size really suits me and I'll forgive the minor build issues for the price and nib performance. I wonder if the Wingsung 629 may suit you better. Appears to be based off the MB 146. I have one on order....

Can someone tell why reverse writing is demonstrated and why is it important?
    Thx😊

It's my understanding that it is handy for people who sketch and may want a thinner line width option. Or handy for notes in margins etc. To be honest, I've never found myself in need of the option

Hello! Jinhao x159 & wing sung 630 nib are interchangeable?

    • @SantiagoPens1759
      @SantiagoPens1759  Місяць тому

You can take the nib from an x159 and put it on the 630, using the 630 feed and nib unit. If putting the 630 nib on an x159 I would be careful of the clearance inside the cap. The 630 nib is a touch longer and could catch the top of the cap

@@SantiagoPens1759 Thanks for the warning, but I've ordered a nib from wing sung 630 to my jinhao x159😂😂😂I've seen people put the monblank 149 nib in jinhao 9019 and even though it is longer than a standard jinhao #8 nib, but when installed in 9019 it goes down deeper than a regular pen jinhao #8🧐🧐🧐.let's hope for a similar outcome. Thank you again for the desire to help and forgive me for my English 😇

@user-hb1fn8xv8j I've not tried it, so it might be fine. I have put the nib from a Hongdian N10 on one of my x159's and the cap is close to the tip. Depends where it will sit on the feed. Hope yours fits!

You unnecessarily made the video longer and thereby boring.
