Happy Pi Day and congrats on releasing such an awesome space-bending game!

BRO I DONT KNOW YOU SUPPORT THIS GAME, LIVESTREAM THIS
I actually didn't expect to see Cary here, but knowing he's a big Programming Buff this makes perfect sense! 😆
i was like: "wait is that BLOCKY FROM BFDI???????"
I really, _really_ hope this blows up as much as it deserves to.
It should, I have to imagine that the Hyperbolica devlogs will catch steam again, it's been promoted pretty well over the past few years so I really am hoping for the best
@@fucker1 You're trying waaaay too hard, buddy.
.
well, its hyperbolic, so maybe it grows in popularity exponentially faster than a normal game?
@TellevaI wholeheartedly agree. The novelty wears off quick. Great idea, and cool concept. Unfortunately, that is about all though.
Congratulations on the release! Ever since seeing the first demo, my friends and I have been super excited to see where it would go. It's been a while since then, but it's been worth the wait!
Wow, amazing that you actually managed to release a project like this

Cut Dani some slack. He released other bangers like Muck this past year

NICE!! I just wanted to say, I've been following along this development for a quite a while and have been really excited/sharing your updates with my friends. I'm so excited this is out, and also pi day is the coolest release date ever. As a game dev myself, congrats on this launch, that's no easy task and it's been really awesome following along with Hyperbolica's development!! I'm going to grab it on steam right now!
Look out. She's a game dev...
Technically, I don't think people can call themselves a game developer until they've released a game.
UA-cam replies sucking as usual
@@user-ur8co1yn5l Yeah that Putin one is weird
@@GraveyardTricks well, now it's released, so he is indeed a game dev. Though, many developers in AAA can go years without shipping a game or being unfortunate enough to work on projects that get cancelled, but are still devs. I only mentioned it because game development is no easy task, let alone on a small/solo scale. I can only imagine how much work an experimental game like Hyperbolica was! It's awesome it's officially out and deserves positivity & support.
@@fucker1 shut
i felt so disappointed after each delay (understanding ofc), but now all that has melted away!!! I'm just falling in love with this world and getting so invested! well worth the wait.
another first reply on UA-camr that i ever watching
We can finally escape this universe’s Euclidean tyranny and experience the hyperbolic utopia we deserve! 🙏
Get lost :)
Curvs are where it's at, am I right boys?
Why did you have to do this on a Monday morning just after midnight on the first day of daylight savings? You're killing me :)
I'm excited.
Second day of daylight savings! (Also not for us in Europe lol)
@@JivanPal Sunday is optional for us M-F workers.
Time for me to have my brain melt playing this in vr.
If anyone doesn't vomit from playing this in VR I'd be very impressed.
Hold my rakija
I never knew a 2d monitor could induce such a headache. Somehow, this wants me to try it in VR even more.
Challenge accepted
Happy vomiting!
I was trying in vr and my touch controllers wouldn't show up and weren't bound.
So excited to play this!
why???????????????
@@ChuckSploder because it's a game with a unique concept that's been in development for a long time???

There’s no way Will You Snail AND Hyperbolica have just been released within a week from each other! This is so awesome!!!!
Yep. Kirby coming out later this month as well. We do be feasting this March fr fr
now all is left is karlsom
MY EXACT THOUGHTS. Maybe we'll be lucky and KSP2 can surprise us and come out this month, too!
Yesterday, I had the urge to rewatch some of the dev logs. And then I realised it was being released in less than 24h. I got to experience the launch!
I've just finished playing after like 4h and went to make pasta. I was moving around the kitchen all weird bc I was trying no to get lost... Then I remembered the whole holomony thing isn't an issue in Euclidean space
I can just imagine someone looking through a window and seeing you walk around very confused
This has to be in my top 5 UA-cam notifications I was most excited to see. You did it!
Happy Pi day and congrats to the release of Hyperbolica! Can’t wait to try it out.
I just stayed up way past my bedtime and beat the game. I can't wait to go back and explore all the nooks and crannies I missed. Great job, I love it!
Incredible! Congrats! I’d like to give a huge shoutout to the UA-cam algorithm for recommending one of your development vids a year ago. Beyond stoked to actually witness this project grow into a whole game.
I know how long you've been working on this. Great work and happy launch!
Oh, the VR support is in from day one? Much excitement! 👍🥳🔥
Yaaaaayyyy! I’m so excited to play this later and I’m so happy you were able to make your dream game a reality! I only found your channels about a month or two ago, but I already love your channel so much and I’ve become interested in things like fractals and non-euclidian space, which I never thought I would find interesting. You’re a wonderful youtube creator and game designer and I’m looking forward to what else you make in the future!
I jumped straight into VR for this. I've been waiting a long time for a VR experience that plays with physics this way. I love it!!!
Hi! Does it work on Quest 2?
Did you get the controls to work? I tried with Quest 2. So far only keyboard worked for me which was not quite playable in VR, because after the school scene the character that talks to you was behind me, so I'd have to use the keyboard behind my back. Didn't get any further. Neither the VR controllers work nor the gamepad. Yes, I selected them in the settings.
@@HarveyHirdHarmonics I think a new update just rolled out that fixed it! The controller models are still index controllers though.
i will miss the devlogs, they were such a joy whenever a new one came out!
i miss the devlog because it meant that hyperbolica wasn't out and we could just imagine it. now it exists and we can see what's missing or too much
Bro. Game is DOPE.
What you did there is a masterpiece. Not gonna lie, I thought it would be similar to running some shaders in games like minecraft which bend the world visually, but when I was confronted to an actual non euclidean world it was quite different. I got lost running around a freaking square, and not even a big one. And the barn? I was amazed at being able to see the whole level by just looking around, yet be able to run in a straight line for eternity.
I don't want to spoil the story to people, but the museum was awesome. I kept discovering art pieces in places I thought I already visited.
I don't know what black magic you used or what you promissed the devil, but making this with an existing game engine (designed for euclidean worlds) and managing to render these spaces is incredible. What did you even use to design the world itself?
Out of all the random topics that occasionally show up in my recommended, this is my absolute favorite
This game alone has made today the best pi day of the century. I haven't even played it yet but I'm already excited!
I am so glad to see it out. I am really excited to play it. Thank you for making it available on Linux.
I remember reading someone a long time ago about why we learn Euclidean geometry instead of non-Euclidean. I cannot remember the exact reasoning, but it came down to something like a shrug and "seems like a good idea" even though non-Euclidean geometry, especially spherical space geometry, is extremely relevant to the world in which we live.
What could have been? Imagine learning geometry with wicked, cool curves and then having a single chapter on the "special case" of geometry in a boring plane.
Anyway, glad you game came out because this kind of thing is amazing.
Congratulations! It's been a pleasure following along with your journey - excited to give it a whirl and very interested to see what happens next!
Congratulations on the launch!
The game seems fun from everything I've seen but a bit pricey for me considering the 3-5 hour play time to beat it.
When will the open source engine be released though? I'm excited for what people will build using the tools you made!
That's insane. Good luck adding more features to it. I absolutely love this game
It's a short game, I'm not sure it will be getting more features.
“Solve puzzles, …clean.. windows?” too funny
Congrats. Your videos going over the dev process have been some of my favorites
I'm really happy that game exists and I'm a huge fan of your videos, but I do feel that the game feels more like a tech demo than a full game. Only a few puzzles really made use of the non-Euclidean nature of the world (the laser puzzle, the treasure chest, and the gopher puzzle). And a lot of puzzles just involved randomly walking around and talking to people or finding some tiny object to pick up. I can't say those were fun. Perhaps hyperbolic space just isn't that interesting - it violates some interesting properties of Euclidean space and exaggerates others (in particular straight line paths are much faster than curved paths in hyperbolic space), but maybe that's just not enough to be the entire theme of a game.
Playing the game, makes me wish the game was longer, and with more platforming, shooting, puzzles, etc. As it is now, it's just okay.
A couple of times a month for 3 years now one of the devlog videos will pop up in my recommended, incredibly surprised that it's out! Looking forward to trying it
Oh wow, i've been looking through your progress and I love how it finally come out!
I was shocked by the sub-gigabyte size of the game. I hope it's not too short!
Well, it *is* short... but anyway, sub-gigabyte size should be a normal thing. (HyperRogue is 94 MB (33 MB without music), its non-Euclidean world size is in thousands of digits, and tons of content.)
Amazing concept. I wish the game wasnt boring and the writing wasmt uminspired.
But everything cant be perfecr at the same time
Congrats!!! I've been following your progress for some time
Wow, congrats codeparade. I've been following you guys on this project for a couple years now and am so happy to see the product. I cannot wait to dive in to the game later. Fantastic job!
is there VR support? Imagine how crazy it would be to play in hyperbolic space with a VR headset!!!
btw i’ve been watching these devlogs for months! nice to see this project going live!
He said streamvr, so it would seem so.
@@ge2719 that’s it, im in
@@apenasmeucanal5984 i read some of the reviews though and one of them said it didnt work very well, but hey theres always refunds on steam if youve used it less than 2 hours
My brain is ready to be thoroughly turned into spaghetti after playing this game
Wow I never knew these videos were devlogs, I thought you’re just showing cool hyperbolic concepts using video game mechanics
As someone who has thoroughly enjoyed the devlog adventure up to this point, I am glad to see CodeParade able to return to other types of videos, as I'm sure CodeParade is as well.
Great concept but the game design, storyline, characters and dialog left a lot to be desired... It also spent too long figuring out what to do next or where to go.
Just beat the game. So fun! Highly recommend! Seems a bit expensive though.
Well, it is his full time job now so he has to charge more to support himself and his family. But it's good you found it fun! Hopefully if this does well he can release more levels and challenges. Plus he won't be starting from scratch anymore
@@ittaibaum3234 Ah okay. Well that makes total sense then. I don’t mind.
Holy shit dude this looks fantastic!! I just binge watched all the dev logs and I’m in love with what you’ve ended up with! Congratulations on your release!!! (Once I’ve got my computer fixed I absolutely need ti play this!!)
Congratulations!!!! I've been lurking and watching your development and it's been very exciting! I hope you are excited at this milestone as well :)
Its a big red flag when the developer says I need to check the dev logs in order to appreciate the game and how far its come. All that means is that the actual game play will feel rough and unpolished. The is just yet another crappy indie game that should cost $1-$3 being sold for the same amount as well-polished professionally made games from million or billion dollar studios.
I really want to enjoy this game but all this dialouge is horrible, I've never encountered gameplay that felt this wrong. No offense, maybe it's just me, but I'd love exploring this world without having to click through useless screens all day, is there any way to just play this game without the chore of the gameplay itself?
Gotta say, most of your Dev logs have been talking about the mechanics and geometry of the game, but the crazy lore stuff that seem to come up during the speed dating section was a mind-fuck that I love
Never heard of this so thanks youtube for recomending. Cant wait to get my VR set on tonight and have some mind bending fun!
1:00 be sure, my day is MUCH sweeter now
Just purchased! Will play it during the weekend, so exciting, many years waiting for this XD, congrats!
Congratulations on the release! Can’t wait to play it!! I’ve been watching the devlogs for a long time so I’m really excited to see how your work paid off
I came across this channel today and bought hyperbolica. I am not too interested in the gameplay itself, but as someone with a passion for mathematics, I am amazed at the level of mathematical knowledge and genius it took to develop this game. Hats off to you my friend. Keep the projects coming, you have my full support!
i'm so excited for this full release! i've been watching your videos every now and then since one of your earliest videos. keep up all of your hard and incredible work! i can't wait to see what you have in store for the future!
Finally! Since i found about this channel last year ive been waiting for this🔥🔥
Congrats dude! Been looking forward to this release for a while now, can't wait to finish work.

YUSSS! I've waited so long for this. Even skipped on Feb blogs to ensure the experience feels new.
Was waiting eagerly for this. Just finished playing it. Amazing. Too bad it's so short, although for obvious reasons. I'd really love to see you explore the concept further in future projects!
HAPPY 1 YEAR TO HYPERBOLICA!!!!!
This is so exciting! I’ve been following this for sooooo long! Congrats on the launch!
just bought it :) don't have time to play it yet, but really wanted to support you after all this time following your devlogs
I remember watching that Non-Euclidean Worlds Engine video a long time. Can't believe it's finally here.

Congrats! Been following this game for a long while
Nice, def buying this later today! Congrats dude!
Hey, congrats on the release! Just bought it and I'm gonna play it as soon as I get home this evening!
Would you ever consider expanding on this game and making new hyperbolic content? I played it and absolutely loved it, but now I want to see more! There’s so many cool concepts you could do in hyperbolic space, and this game only scratches the surface.
Something that strikes me as a potential great candidate to expand hyperbolica into would be a prequel game/dlc set in a certain infinitely-sided civilization.
Play HyperRogue if you want to see more.
awesome!! i cant wait to pick this up and play it!
Congrats man! Booting up my pc rn lets gooo
Bought it. Gratz on finishing it!
Been waiting for a while for this to come out, can’t wait to play it!
Brb getting it now!
Really looking forward to playing and streaming this
I went thorugh Hyperbolica and I gotta say, it's a masterpiece.
So far I've seen people go over the gameplay, graphics and story but lost at the concept where the player navigates through a non-euclidean environment. I feel like they just went with it believeing it was a difficulty setting but not trying to "feel" the world around them.
It made me a big headache and a burning forehead and I liked it. Unfortunately hyperbolic space locally feels euclidean so normal slow activities weren't much of a change, but the drone and ski part had some anomalies, in myself. My favorite was the farm, I didn't get a feel but could interact successfully, it's a weird feeling.
Your devlogs have been FASCINATING. looking forward to Mac support!
Congrats on the launch! Looking forward to playing it!
Hyperbolic space was cool to explore, but the other one was painful. Loved the whole thing
I first saw a video of your developement quite a while ago and forgot about the game totally. I was so happy to see it at the front page of steam. Insta bought it. Will try in VR later today :)
gives me a reason to clean my room for vr
