2019 Volvo V90 - Borla Exhaust

- Per request we created a video to demonstrate what an aftermarket Borla S-Type (40842S) muffler sounds like on a 2019 Volvo V90 (with resonator removed). Please listen with headphones to hear the full frequency of the audio. Please like and subscribe so we can do more & better content.
I get a lot of compliments on the car itself, especially since people are not used to seeing a nice 'Euro-wagon' / 'Sport-Wagon' where I live; and even more compliments and conversations since I've de-badged it and did the exhaust.

At WOT it sounds surprisingly good, love those discrete farts when it shifts gears.

Aside from a cooler sound, I get slightly better gas mileage despite constantly driving in PoleStar Mode! LOL
Appreciate you posting this, and all the angles! Inside and go pro minus were nice. Outside angles often seem hard for mics to pick up.

got a 2018 xc60 few months back. love your Volvo clean as hell - thinking aobut getting a exhaust eventually on mine

Great setup and sound, thanks!. One question though: once you removed the catalytic converter, how is the car still street legal for emissions and will pass inspection? (some of us need to pass those every year). Thanks.
If I'm not mistaken I still have a Catalytic Converter which is somehow embedded in the down-pipe.
We just removed the resonator and the anchor of a muffler.
Sorry I keep calling it a Cat, but we took off the resonator, and inspection laws differ from state to state and per Country. Where I live (FL) we don't have inspections and where I used to live inspections were based on the year of your vehicle.
Is that a T5 or T6?
If you could do it again, would you put a normal pipe where the resonator is and moved the borla muffler to replace the stock pan?

Hey B-Side. Which Borla Resonator did you use? I’m going on a 2018 XC60, any major differences in the undercarriage? Was that heat shield added or stock? Thanks!
Borla S-Type (40842S) I will add a shield to help with the drone and vibrations, currently it's stock undercarriage
In hindsight I should have probably placed it where the original muffler was, instead of the resonator's location, LOL

And that's a smaller, higher flow resonator swap to straight y-pipe.
How much does the muffler replacement cost
The Borla S-Type (40842S) typically cost around $160 - $200 pending dealer and state...
And then about $100 to put it on depending on how many cuts they do and what they take off.

T5 but with the P* Tune (the T6 are hard to find CPO in FL)
Sounds quiet
Sounds ok but still those 4 cylinder engines sucks
They're not too bad with a Turbo and the Polestar Tune
