Beta radiation is relativly safe because it dosent travle far through skin or the plastic the tritium is encased in. This is biased against tritium light sorces. They are relitivly safe.
@patrick mcconegly-while i do have an understanding that beta decay is potentially the most hazardous form of ionizing radiation to living tissues, i do agree that the beta emissions from tritium are not at a threatening level. In my last comment i was attempting to address the past comments which were somewhat misinformed, rather than contesting the fact that beta emissions from tritium are almost laughably low, especially when it is encased in a glass vial or similar glass container, since the interaction between said glass than the beta emissions can help stop the betas and in turn release a few stray xrays. I believe this was simply a misunderstanding. Still, this video is just awful and really quite inaccurate.
Beta radiation is actually very dangerous. Since it has a somewhat moderate energy it can easily be stopped once inside your body, releasing the energy inside there. Gamma can go right through your body, and alpha is stopped by your skin, so beta is by far the most dangerous for your body, as long as the source is somewhat near your body. But this video is almost completely inaccurate.

Thanks! Helps me with my Nuclear Radiation paper.
I'm going to buy a Tritiem exit sign

Basically it means it's as dangerous as Fluorescent.
What a self-serving and needlessly fear mongering video...

@@patmcconegly I think this is more of a advertisement for those shitty Photoluminescent exit signs which should not be allowed.
