The new redesign is a horrid downgrade. I’m disappointed on whoever approved this dumpster of a fire interface. Why remove what was so great and unique from the rest of the fitness tracking competition? If things don’t roll back to how it was, you may have lost a lot of loyal and valuable customers. Thanks for ruining something that actually worked for many people before the update..

I have to agree with everyone that has said, "Bring back the competitions". They were the only reason I kept Fitbit for this long.
Why not have the group competitions? I can buy any other plan to receive this information! No good selling points!!!!
Google is known for taking things away, (Google Plus, Google Glass etc) While I am here (this probably is not the right place, where are the VR glasses? A HUD would be great addition to a fitness app, I don't think anyone else is doing it either.??
The competitions are gone? I guess that's why I can't find them. I have no reason to keep Fitbit anymore 😢

I liked the old version better. And question, where can you see at a glance what the battery life is of your device? I used to be able to see that when I swiped down to sync them but not any more. By the time I get an email notification that it needs charging I'm already somewhere that charging is not convenient.

And now you have to scroll and scroll and scroll to look at the most basic data. I reference the app a few times a day I don't want to LIVE IN IT. It's so precious and ridiculous they think we want these gigantic zones and to go hunting for basic data like heart rate and calorie trackers scrolling along. Some of us like our interfaces compact and are busy. This looked like they gave some inexperienced staffer creative liberties to "have fun" and never tested it with customers and never considered if it was even usable or not. It's different alright but not more attractive or more usable. Differently different!
So glad I haven’t updated the app. I’ll hold out until the very last day that I can. I won’t be buying another Fitbit after having them for the last 9 years! 🤷🏾♀️
I completely agree, I got the very first fitbit when it came out, and have had several since, but this will be my last one I ever buy. I'm so disappointed with where this is all going 😢

What happened to the battery level display?
This "update" took what had been a very compact display that was easy to navagate and configure and converted the user interface to a size bloated, virtually monochromatic, configuration constrained mess that will be motivating my wife and I to move to one of the now many capable competitors. Honestly, this looks like something that a middle school kid would have cooked up using free, online app development tools.
I feel the exact same way. I'm so annoyed with how ugly and bulky and unusable it is now. It totally looks like someones middle schooler niece (who dosnt even use a tracker) made this for free in Canva you're right. Researching new brands now and can't wait to switch. The lack of dark mode and weird way they split sleep cycles if you have insomnia sucked, but this is just blatantly not caring about the product or sabotaging it deliberately at this point.

I agree and as I have a heart complaint I need the pulse rate and step count visible together. Impossible! Please allow dashboard customisation
Unlucky for you, This is part of googles big material you change. If you don’t like it, I recommend not using a google pixel or any google app (youtube is owned by google) as they are and will eventually change to this design language at some point.
Like everyone else, I absolutely detest the new layout to the extent that after only ever owning a Fitbit, I’ll be selling it and moving over to a competitor. No clue about customer experience. You’ve alienated us all, it’s ugly to look at now and half the stats are missing!

Yes, I agree with the majority on bringing back the group competitions. It was a connection with others even if they were strangers. We were each other cheerleaders even if we had no one at home or at all.

I feel your pain. For me it was 4 years. They are still there on the computer screen... Just no longer able to be seen 9n the tracker. It's like they were completely wiped out when I tried to get the new app to work better with my watches. :'(
When this fitbit dies I will find a different tracker. I was motivated by the challenges.

Far from alone. The previous version was perfect. I’m not one to complain, but this thing has been a big part of my everyday life and I’m pretty pissed, not gonna lie.

not really happy with the changes. everything is too big and takes up too much space on the screen. also you use to see what percent your batter was and now it does not show. hopefully they will tweak the changes a bit to bring back the batter information and make all of the displays a little smaller
The reason I've stayed with Fitbit for so many years is because the user interface was better than the competition. Google must be trying to tank Fitbit.
The update doesn’t give me what I used daily. I can no longer map my morning walks, it doesn’t give me distance walked, it doesn’t update me verbally with distance and time every mile any longer. I have enjoyed Fitbit for years now and have updated to a Sense and a premium membership but I am going to have to look for another tracker or just get an Apple Watch.
Why fix something that works. 🤔
Bring back the social challenge, like Bingo and walking with pictures.

I really don't like the new update..loved how the last version worked..i keep needing to resync to advance my current steps.i used to be able to see where i was at a glance..sometimes updating isn't needed or making anything better..it worked perfectly before...

Same. Already looking at Garmins and Apple Watches. If anyone has recommendations for a fitness watch that integrates with a digital scale, hit me up. I know Apple doesn't make a scale like Fitbit's Aria, but there are several third-party scales that will integrate with Apple Watch.

Bring back the challenges!!!!! Without the challenges, Fitbit is nothing special. Focus on what your customers are asking for. I certainly don't need a new app design. I want challenges back!!!
It sucks. I can’t see my minutes anymore for the week it just gives me a daily average even when i click on the week. I want my minutes back! You also deleted the battery percentage. I don’t want to see medium or full sometimes full means only 78 percent and i want to make sure its charged to 100 but there is now no option. Everything else is. like five extra steps to see it now 🤦🏻♀️..You guys need to work on making sure your devices work instead of updating your app to one where everything is worse .
Focus on what your customers have been asking for for years, not an app update that only impacts a small part of the overall UI!
Lost my steps for days, almost tracking 2 years. It seems you have to look much more to get the info you want.

I had a banner on main page showing how many days in a row I had reached 10000 steps. If I missed a day I had to start over. I was close to 2 years. It gave me a goal just seeing how long I had done it. Now it’s gone.
Why would they remove our step streaks??? It’s beyond stupid.

Bring back the competitions and how many days in a row I did 10,000 steps. It is one of the reasons I kept my Fitbit since 2011. I am considering getting an Apple watch now.
Nice design , but no competitions. They motivated me more than anything. Without them, fit bit is just another tracker.

The design is ugly. It feels like color that’s barely there. Why even have color when it’s faded hues and everything looks identical. It looked so much more pleasant and dependable before, and inviting. It looks barren now, not to mention is less user friendly and intuitive.

@fitbit What moves me are the challenges and competitions with friends... not just a fancy new look. Listen to your customers or you'll lose them. Thank you! I've been fitbit loyal since 2011 and I'm not sure how much longer I'll hang on without the challenges and connections to friends.

Where did all the colour go, Fitbit? Please revert back to previous visuals, colours, and format. Much more visually appealing. And about those challenges, not happy 😢.
One thing I loved about the fit bit app vs the iPhone health app is when I clicked on my steps I would be able to scroll and see the steps I took on every single day. Now it’s all bar graphs per week and month and super confusing. It’s not motivating at all when it’s hard to read

What a dreadful update. I've commented across as many platforms as possible, because Fitbit definitely isn't listening. None of my data seems to be "at a glance" any more. Finding anything seems to involve a certain amount of extra scrolling or clicks. Why is it now harder to find my data on an app whos job it is to collect and display my data??
Fitbit....WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? Perhaps you weren't thinking at all. New update is shocking. You have lost me as a customer. Never been so disappointed with an update. You clearly did not ask users what they wanted. It's a huge backward step that will cost you dearly.
How do I track battery on new screen. Miss color coded exercise levels. Overall, do not like
What happened to the previous years of tracking?
A couple of things: one, you should be able to search the workouts for specific terms, such as stretch or kettlebell or yoga, things like that. Two, the individual challenges to Yosemite and the Marathon should be brought back, they were fun, and new ones should be added!
Also, not all of the workouts should be premium, some should be free

I don't like how it changes my calories when I manually log an exertise in order to log for weekly exercise goals. Sure if you forgot to wear it but if it was clearly tracking activity why mess with the calories it tracked? (Or, if it wants this auto feature why not auto log the days/week exercised metric)?
I agree with most reviews I read, the newest update is AWFUL! Looking at Apple Watches for my newest fitness watch.

Please explain me why I'm forced to turn my phone localization data on (at all times, even when app is off) to synchronize with my device.. I have no need to track my walks or whatsoever. There was a way to circumvent this before the update.
Don't force your users to share data. We're already paying the device, you're asking more for a premium account, gaining an extra buck collecting our data is not necessary, don't be greedy..

Maybe I'm missing it somewhere, but I liked when it would let me know how many consecutive days I hit 10,000 steps. I can't find it now...hopefully you didn't take it away and can let me know where to find it. If you did take it away...can you bring it back? Thank you.

Love the redesign but telling me I can't see someone in my friends list unless I migrate my Fitbit account to Google and then when I do making it so I can't see any of my Fitbit friends was very sleezy.
Now I can't see the steps or join in with 90% of my friends.
Going to switch to a Garmin if this isn't fixed because the social aspect was the only reason I stayed with Fitbit
What’s also sleezy is if you complain you won’t get a response, just got my sense, I’m going to have to return it, not satisfied with the new changes glad they happened now, since I only had mine less than 2 weeks.
This video didn't show anything useful. I use my app to keep track of my health and I didn't see anything data wise. Your making Walmart ads look better. Ever since google took over Fitbit I been debating dropping Fitbit, I'm on my 5th Fitbit watch and idk if I'll buy anymore at this point.

With the update, I can't see anymore when my Pulse/BPM move from fat burning into Cardio and the max area... like the interface otherwise
The redesign of the app is not complete. There are a lot of sections with the old design, like sleep, heart rate and stress management. But you clearly show that these sections will be updated at the end of the video. Why publish an unfinished update and advertise with redesigns that did not make it to the app yet???
The new app redesign is horrible! The color scheme is terrible and everything is so spaced apart. So much white space. There are only 4 highlighted stats at the top. There used to be 5. I have to scroll a ton just to see what I'm lookin for. The synced Peloton workouts no longer show the heart rate graph like they used to. Big thumbs down.
I have noticed that when tracking my hourly "steps" that it actually has nothing to do with walking. It has to do with the swinging of my arms. I just spent an hour in the grocery store shopping and didn't get credit! I know I walked more than 250 steps in that hour but I guess holding on to a shopping cart doesn't matter since my arms weren't swinging. Making me wonder if this is all worth it.
I am so disappointed with this new Fitbit app i love the challenges in the app i only paid the extras to do them and i can't find out how to cancel the additional $9.99 it not worth keeping it 😢

Don’t like the fact I can’t easily see my history (if at all!!). Used to be able to check number of steps etc week on week and that’s not as easy any more.
I can do without all the flashy junk. I don't need "competitions" for motivation. I'm not interested in "motivational presentations." All I'm interested in are the FACTS. How many steps (don't need FitBit), exercise heart rate, how much sleep, type of sleep (the only thing Premium offers that I want, but not worth the subscription), and weekly/monthly data.
This is the ugliest update yet. First you ditched the challenges now you’ve made the interface hard to edit and clinical to look at. Nothing but a downward spiral for this company.

Curious to see the redesign. But more importantly, hopefully the "Are you curious what makes you sleepy? It's a..." tips will finally be gone. Because those are really TIRED. 😴😂
Is there a way to see the percent battery charge on the updated app? It's not obvious.
They got rid of percentage charge of battery, Now is is only battery status (low, medium or high), and you have to go to a different page to see that.

Same here! As soon as they got rid of bingo I immediately cancelled my premium. The other features really aren't worth it to me. It makes no sense that they got rid of it. If anything they could have improved it.

I own a Fitbit Versa 2, and have enjoyed using it since 2019. This new update can only be described as purposefully destructive. Apparently, Google purchased Fitbit for $2.1B, but could not simply disconnect all users. Instead it has chosen the tactic of driving them away from their devices by ruining the user interface/app. All of the negative comments and reviews are like spitting into the wind as far as Google is concerned. This acquisition should never have been allowed by the Justice Department Anti-Trust Division, but it's too late now. RIP Fitbit. P.S. I have downloaded and installed an Apple compatible app which has more functionality than the old Fitbit app, and will try to adapt to that--if that proves unsuccessful then I will regretfully abandon my Fitbit altogether. I will not be purchasing any Google device, which in my experience has a long track record of destroying user value.
I woke up and basically can't use this new app. It took me forever to learn the new one. I am so confused, where is my picture? Where do I sync etc

How could your designers and marketing team imagine that a totally bland app, with less functionalities, including the ones that were making the difference with your competition , would appeal to users. You've had thousands of negative comments on all platforms for the last week and still no response...I rolled back to the previous version on Android, blocked the update, canceled my premium membership, and will move on to Samsung next March when my premium subscription ends.
If your goal was to sabotage the app, well good job, you did great!
The 3 people in my house that have a fitbit don't even use them anymore..we can't fight daily about who got the most steps in the challenges so what's the point? Everyone's phone can track steps. I won't be upgrading again.
Not digging the new redesign. Sleep score no longer prominently displayed. Just figured out where stuff was and now I cant easily find what I used. I guess if it stays connected and syncs reliably I can put up with the changes.
It looks nice but without the competitions and challenges… it’s just not the same. It’s the reason I got a Fitbit in the first place, so I could do challenges with my friends and family but now that it’s gone, I rarely log into the Fitbit app, I don’t think the new design is going to change that for me.
Why doesn't it show the start and end times of my exercise anymore? It used to be so accurate and now it doesn't know what's happening. It doesn't even track a basic walk anymore it told me I did an elliptical, and then it said "other activity" and the timing wasn't even right. It used to track "brisk walk" to the exact minute start to finish every time before this useless update. It's an absolutely terrible layout, when are you going to revert back to the old colourful one and listen to all of your customers telling you they don't like it? Are we not the ones who paid for it and are trying to use it?

I am new to this and wondering if they have chair yoga and chair exercises? I am handicap working with MS, Neuropathy and numbness in all different areas head to toe and want to keep working on my balance, coordination and dexterity. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Please bring back the competition. Thats what motivated my friends, family and I. I dont even look at it anymore and most just quit. I really dont like it anymore.

Yes. Google loves killing things, and Fitbit hardware is next. They're pushing out the wearables that have already had research and development on them and then ending the line.
They didn’t even use a fitbit for the fitbit video. That’s a pixel watch. As if I’d invest more in their devices after they’ve so drastically devalued my fitbit.

@@MDebak I am currently testing out an apple watch and about to go buy a garmin to test out. I am truly sad that there is no more fitbit, I was using fitbit since the beginning of 2016.

I've turned this app upside down, inside out looking for the challenges. Never imagined they'd do something so idiotic as to eliminate them. They're the ONLY reason I've had a Fitbit for 10 years and never went to the competitors, no matter that they break down every two years like clockwork. I just made sure I had a warranty. Such a shame. I especially loved and miss the Bingo challenges, and connecting and competing with family and friends.

Who are these people boosting this new design? Judging by the comments I'd say it was the design team, except judging by the design I'm assuming it was created by Siberian prison labour.

Everything is now less clear, less informative, and less easily accessed. Here's a top tip, if it's not broke, don't fix it? And if anyone can tell me how to switch it back to the old design please let me know 👍
