Too bad that hatchery won’t put out 30 million smolts like it used to…4,000,000 now, with a little boost of 500,000 this year. In the peak of the runs back in the early 2000’s they’d put out 30,000,000, that’s how we had those phenomenal runs. Can’t blame ocean conditions now, it’s loaded out there, from krill, anchovies, herring, squid. The feed is there, we just need more smolts. Unfortunately however this video is a lot closer to the truth then it should be ua-cam.com/video/P2QZuiRZGbw/v-deo.html
Why do salmon need a fishing ladder to get up river. Look at the salmon they are hitting the grate. Should the ladder be a straight fishing ladder. Man has screwed up the striper and Sacramento king salmon fishery. Man put Dams that stopped the salmon and now have hatchery for king salmon. Back in the 1980s we had huge runs of king Salmon in 30-40lbs. We had good striper runs. 20-30lbs striper on beachs and in san Francisco. It a tragedy what has happened to the king salmon fishery 22 inches is legal salmon and 18 inch is a legal striper.
They try to pretend like they do things for the salmon. In reality they are the last on a long list of things that rely on water. Last on the list means first to go without on low water years.

It’s all about selling them now. That’s why they saving them
We need to replenish the ocean with all types of fish
So they added 500k more eggs. Why would you ever put a limit on egg production? If you have 2 million, why not hatch them all? Makes no sense to me
It’s because they are a type one species.
Where's this exactly? Address? It looks to be a fun place. It's cool to look at the salmons through the windows.
Look-up Nimbus Fish Hatchery.
It's on hazel Ave near the highway 50 exit. Like the other poster said, nimbus fish hatchery. Also has nearby bike trails along river.

The biggest issue I have with all of this is. Since day one this has been viewed as almsot a agricultural situation. Not a conservation
What took you so long
Cool 😎 I love ❤️ it
But by looking at that idk if it's gonna help

Without man's dams the American River would have stopped running this year.
@@philiphorner31 🤦♂️ that isn’t the point.
You are a real rocket scientist, way to state the god damn obvious.
Bullshit. More money for certain people. That's what it comes down to.
Stop dumping all the water to LA.
👁️ am responding to an event
Salmon ladder over the damn… stop wasting more money🤡
