    Scrolling through the comments it seems a lot of people aren't smart enough to form an opinion based off of the excellent test results you provided. It was very thorough and professionally done, personally will be buying liquiproof. Thank you your test was very informative and well done.

    Finally someone does a video that is unbiased. I bought crap protect and the water soaked right through and ketchup almost did not come out. People who say it works , is because they are getting it free from Crep. Thanks! Great video!

    Results: NONE WORK! But based on his video:
    1. Liquid Proof
    2. Stay Fly Stay Dry Shoe Juice
    3. Crep Protect
    4. Sneaker Spray
    5. Factory
    6. Untreated

    I put loads of coats of sneaky spray on my converse. It protects the majority of the shoe but only if you get the stain off immediately. The spray makes for easier and less time consuming deep cleaning though.

    I’ve used Liquiproof on a couple of my trainers and they still always end up with a mud stain I can never get rid of. I was going to try Crep Protect but that’s clearly crap. Great review of them! Thanks dude!

    Not to discredit your evaluation but it was apparent through out the entire test that the shoe with the liqui-proof agent required much more attention than any of the others.

    I don't think any shoe protector is 100% full proof. It just serves as and added defense to your already delicate form of wearing your sneakers. It's better than nothing.

    Its a known fact that they dont tend to work on canvas. Try suede or leather!

    • @JameysVideos
      @JameysVideos  10 років тому +6

      LeviSyler I suspect the results on leather/suede would be better, yes, however it's not so much because the sprays are working harder/better, it's because the leather and suede are naturally more resistant anyway. If I had six white leather shoes to test with I would expect the untreated shoes to perform a lot better than the untreated canvas ones in this video. So that's less a test of the sprays as a percentage of the resistance is down to the material itself. In order to see which one is best some of them need to perform badly, and in order to do that you have to choose a material that shows the weaknesses... Although I admit that I mainly chose canvas shoes simply because it was cheap to purchase six of them.

    • @Socratessz
      @Socratessz 10 років тому +7

      Agreed with leather however it is a fact that suedes do not bode well with water. Canvas shoes can take water without causing permanent damage however good suede stains when water is applied. I have applied liquiproof to suede desert boots, huaraches and jordans. My friends also have them on vans and water, ketchup etc all bead off without any stains. Im not so sure your conclusion that these products are rendered useless just because they dont work on canvas shoes is correct. I had actually noticed myself that when liquiproof is applied to canvas shoes (jordan 1 ko) they arent as water resistant but it is still better than nothing and the spray DEFINITELY works on suedes (which is the most vulnerable material) and whatever huaraches are made of.

    • @JameysVideos
      @JameysVideos  10 років тому +4

      LeviSyler Fair do's, I haven't tried them on suede so can't really comment, so will defer to your judgement. I'd be interested to see an independent test like mine done by someone on suede shoes, but obviously it needs someone who's willing to buy a pair of suede shoes just to (potentially) ruin them, so I can understand why nobody's made such a video. I'd be happy to do it if someone wants to buy or donate a pair of shoes for me to test with :)

    I just decided to look for some feedback of suede protection and came across this video. I have to be honest, it's clear as day that the first time you put the mucky's on each shoe you added less and less as you got down to the last shoe, and so the shoes that appear to be protected better have simply gotten less stuff on them. It's kind of an unfair comparison.
    Edit: typo

    I feel you didnt apply sneaky spray properly as i have just applied some to some suede trainers and ran them under the tap at full blast and the water just beaded off not soak in in the slightest. Unless you can guarantee you have used the correct application process for each product this test is not accurate.

    What do u mean don't put any of them on? How can u say it's better to get them dirty and then wash it off straight away than apply any of the sprays? It's better if u do put the spray on first then get em dirty then wash because going with your experiment it showed us that factory protection is worse than any spray products. Surely the sprays do a better job then not applying it at all

    I personally would've preferred to see you try to wipe off the shoes with a rag rather than just rub it into the fibers. I don't see anyone doing that on actual shoes , but I do see someone using a paper towel or rag at McDonald's if ketchup IS spilled . I don't know anyone who carries a bottle of water around but a paper towel or small towel is easy to come by. Other than that I like what you been doing with the test.

    You say the products are meant to provide protection, not to add protection to materials that are already protected... Erm.... If leather it treated with any of these products, its protection is further enhanced. Meaning that the products add protection. I'd like to see a test on Suede or Leather... Maybe you'll see different results!

  • @davidgrosvenor5272

    I suggest you try liquiproof on suede or leather. I collect Adidas trainers and only use liquiproof on them. And it’s hardly likely you would rub stuff on your shoes. BIG FAIL from you, I take it you don’t wear suede or leather trainers? Also water runs straight off your shoes if you use liquiproof which you would of found had you run a suede or leather shoe under the tap + you would of noticed the shoe is not wet inside!

      WalkthroughUnlimited I'm fairly sure results don't vary between the brands it is applied to, I am sure there is a difference between the levels of protection in different brands of hydrophobic spray...
      but to your question, I'm fairly sure results will be the same whether applied to airmax Nike's or to Adidas any things.

    Sorry man but you did the test horribly. Idk how the other products hold up I only used crep. I followed the directions on the bottle, waited 24 hours and repeated. After that nothing could ruin the shoe and I mean nothing. As soon as I seen a sign the product wearing off I used "cure" crep cleaner then resprayed the shoe. The shoe was the base white Jordan spi'zke with a couple different colors in them. It's been a year and they are still fresh as ever and I wore them a lot to the club. Crep is great. If anyone has used the crep wipes your feedback would be great!

    • @mybawzarerichie

      @yo-rf2rs 7 років тому

      Joseph Rosas it would work but it's doesn't make sense because the sole is going to get dirty. You need 2 coatings on a shoe. It's last for 2 weeks. But you will need to respray after like 2-4 wears.
