Actually, you don't need to gamble. You can get points for example by betting on player and banker instantaneously. But of course, you need to avoid half payment on banker but it's bound to happen.
What you have thought of here, the gamblers in MBS have already tried. It doesn't work. There are also machines that do not allow the betting of contra (both sides). Overall, those people who just want to chalk up points do earn the points but at a guaranteed loss that can be rather huge.
