Hi Greg, I'm a big fan of Lego too, I'm also a really good sorter! So if you need a hand in the future and need some help to organise, sort or disassemble any future acquisitions, I'm more than happy to come and visit and solve your sorting problems. The only problem is I live in the UK, but I can come over for a holiday :)
Greg, keep at it! It’ll look and feel amazing when all of this is sorted. Also seeing this makes me want to get up and sort things in my room. I’m all about that organized life!
I just finished Rivendell and I realize that my next big project really should be sorting pieces. Love your upbeat personality. I am always motivated after seeing one of your videos. Alas, the motivation doesn't always last long . Maybe this time I will at least start. Thanks and have a wonderful week.
Finishing Rivendell is an accomplishment within itself. Congrats! I appreciate the kind words. Best of luck to you on your sorting journey. You can do it!
Tbh I’ve been watching Brickitect since 2017 I LOVE THIS CHANNEL. I once had my own Lego channel with 5K subs but then it got shut down now Im thinking of doing a new channel and Greg and Clark have inspired me. ❤
I used to keep my collection in a fabric bin to sort through and that was fun when my collection was smaller, but as it has been growing i change systems. I find it’s easier to use a mix of the mini sterilite 3 drawers (top removed to interconnect them), some plastic compartments containers (which doesn’t work well because of the removable dividers) and an 18 drawer hardware storage thing. All together it makes finding what I need easier and I’m finding that I enjoy the organizing process. Also I label my drawers which is a huge time saver and makes it so much easier than trying to eyeball the right drawer with the right part. Still, there are rare days when I miss the container filled with misc parts.
I just love a good lego sorting/organisation video! Wondering how you deal with decorated pieces (stickered and printed)? Do you keep them all seperated in a bin of decorated pieces or throw them into the bin of part type they are?
I add them to the regular pieces. There were actually a few slopes I needed for the Ferrari where I took the stickers off. I figured if I wasn’t building the set they came from, I might as well use them. That being said, my system is always evolving so maybe someday the stickers and printed pieces will have their own home.
Very inspiring, my friend. I've been doing some sorting as well. I think I have some classic boxes to go through still. I definitely want to get some more sterilite bins. My zip lock bags are getting full lol. Awesome video buddy!
This is the video i needed. I dread sorting even though when im actually doing it its kind of fun. And when i get it all done, everything is way easier and nice and tidy! Thanks for the reminder of the importance of sorting
When I do lego sorting, at first I call it 'mess dyslexia' as I know what I want to do but never know where to start 😂. And Like you the bricks are the first things out and then plates etc. It is so rewarding at the end though. And Mocs are the way to go. So much cheaper and unique 😀😀😀
This is great. I am a sorter and loved looking at that table and how you divided the parts. As a sorter I also still have tubs of bulk lego to go through. On a simular note I am also budgeting this year to spend only what I can bring in from lego sales. So far so good I have a few bucks in the account.
While building a MOC for a convention I always went for the bin of unsourced pieces first to find what I was looking for. Needless to say I picked a lot of pieces I didn’t end up using but these got sorted by the end of day, steadily leading to a sorted collection.
I am looking for ideas on how to sort my collection. It used to take up about 75% of a 10x10 storage unit mostly in totes some sets in bags and boxes but if I start now maybe I'll be done by Christmas 2025
When I do my needs sorted I keep all lego from the same source / site together. So all items from same garage sale I keep together. Then I can piece together sets that family had and start piecing together based on unique pieces. I don’t know what I’ll do with the partially completed inventoried sets. Probably finish them off and let my kids play with them or sell them off.
Good day Greg 😊 the Minnie doll lol 😆🤣 😁👋covering it up lol I whant lie I got few in my city only cas I got a bundle bye of few frends set 4 so years back give my little cuzzn most them.she was happy and I keep a few thay might be werth a gold mine. One day 😂😮😆😊👌💥

Looking great! We’re working through this dilemma right now too. Congratulations on clean tables!

Sounds like a solid system! I say as long as you know where items are, you're in good shape.
I just love a good lego sorting/organisation video!

I would have a blast sorting your Lego lol. I love sorting, its very therapeutic to me. I wish you luck in your sorting journey!
I'm coming around to the process. It's totally worth the effort.
@@brickitectlol Yeah it's very worth it.

Glad to get you motivated. Your future self will be so happy.

We’re on the same path! That’s awesome. Good luck to you on your organization journey!
Lego sorting is very satisfying
I have these parts, but wait there’s more. And then on top of those. There’s more!
Haha buddy I’m with you there. It’s the same with my brothers.
I have a few Lego to sort. Thinking of getting a robot to do it.

Multitasking! I like it
The same system I also use it’s so good 👍
Awesome!!

I’ve done that too. I love finding sets in yard sale lots. It feels like such a win.
Instant satisfaction!
You should sort out all of the lego in a full video for us
I think it would make a cool Timelapse
Ninjago city garden need to be done
It really does…
I believe that price you we’re taking about is a panel.
Sorting is just one those things you should and have to do as an AFOL
Just like paying taxes. It sucks but you gotta do it.
@@brickitect amen! Also saves a ton of shelf space. Some folks are drowning in completed sets
Sorting is annoying but it needs to be done .. and the reward is great
Yep!
Brickitect when's your next live?
I typically only stream on my gaming channel these days. It’s called Greg’s Arcade.
I do wish Minidolls were compatible with minifigs. That would make them nicer to have
I agree. I guess they did the research and this is what people want?
@@brickitect i.ibb.co/SBx1PM5/20230313-001113.jpg I have a feeling they're regretting that decision right about now
Hay brickitect: when will you start a Lego City??
I started working on sorting before I moved😢
Nice!
Would love to help you sort
You’re hired!
@@brickitect sweet all I need inreturn is your autograph and food
Where are your minifigures bro?
The only thing ,I hate about sorting lego is the numb butt and lower backache from sitting .
😆
I would rather sort your Lego then mine
Deal!
