"A classy gesture" was what you called that empty rocking chair, with the late Roy Orbison's guitar on it. But it was also a classy gesture on your part to stop the video then, and talk about the unexpected emotion you felt. But as usual with HarriBest, you didn't have to describe the emotion -- it flashed across your face the minute you recognized the voice and the empty chair. Well done.

"Can you imagine those 5 all sitting around a table together, and writing a song?" I can, thanks to the behind the scenes documentary. Also, they did that for not just one, but 10 songs! They wrote pretty much that entire first album together. Then Roy Orbison died, and the remaining four went along and did a second album. What an incredible group of guys, getting together and creating some amazing songs! Too bad they stopped at two albums, but I guess they all had their own stuff they were working on. Still, a fun side project that all started with one song that was too good to be a B-side.

Roy Orbison spent a number of his early years growing up in Wink, Texas which is only a few miles from where I grew up and still live. His career was taking off while I was still in school, I remember him singing with his small band on our local TV station. They were called "The Wink Westerners", and made a fine group. Roy's voice was really getting started back then, on it's way to being amazing a bit later on. When he was able to buy a white Caddy convertible, he drove around our high school, waving & smiling at everyone, who of course waved, smiled, & jumped up & down too. The whole west Texas community was very proud of him, as indeed we should have been. I know that we older folks still are, and happy to have been witness to Roy's early career. I wish it had not ended so soon.

Harri, that drummer in the video is Jim Keltner. He played regularly with the Traveling Wilburys. Incidentally, he was one of the members of John and Yoko's the Plastic Ono Band as well as he played some with the Plastic Ono Elephant's Memory Band. Tom Petty said in an interview that they invited him to be a Traveling Wilbury but he is so humble and has so much respect for those legends that he refused to be called one of the Traveling Wilburys and instead insisted he be referred to only as a "Side Wilbury"

Heartfelt reaction as ever Harri. Yes the guitar is already in the rocking chair the first time it is shown in the clip along with photo of Roy in the background.

Talking about Roy Orbison, I recommend you to hear "You Got It", one of the last songs of Orbison before he passed away. Thanks.

I know it definitely devastated me because this was about a year after my grandmother died and I was using Roy as a coping mechanism and would die it was like losing her all over again she was like a second mother yeah it was painful.

I got dumped by a girl I was crazy about when this song came out. It reminds me of her to this day. She got married and has 3 kids. Don't see her more than every few years but am happy for her. I'm satisfied.

Do check out Last Night from that album. It's Tom and Roy sharing lead vocals and it's as awesome as you would imagine.

I appreciate what you do. I have this fantasy get together with you and a couple of others music lovers where we sit around listening to the amazing classic music that’s out there-sing along And discuss how the music came to be. How cool would that be. But I will settle for watching your videos. Thanks for the company and the fresh view of so much of the music I love.

watching this in 2023, it is sad that only Dylan, and Lynn are the only surviving members of the Wilburys.

Notice how in the video. None of them looked at the empty chair. They all knew their turn has coming.
