I don’t know how full your garage is but it would be a good idea to start storing your yard sale things in the garage so they are out the basement and upstairs already so it’s easier to get them out on yard sale day
I believe the garage needs to be decluttered and reorganized but a lot of the items are hubbies and I don’t think that he’s on the same speed or has the same time as Mrs Heart ❤
I've been watching your videos for so long and I'm just so proud of you for doing all this declutter! All this freed space must feels so liberating and it looks amazing! Can't wait for the big konmari for the craft supplies! Keep going!!
Such great progress over the years for you! Regarding the plastic bags (I live in NJ, too, and have two cats) we use potato chip/snack and cereal box liner bags for emptying the litter box. They are already going in to the trash, so why not fill them with more trash. The grocery bags are recyclable, while the chip/snack bags and most cereal liner bags are not. Just a thought. The grocery bags are definitely useful for the yard sale and for putting out stuff when I freecycle.
We also save our empty kitty litter/cat food bags to use as a trash bag in my husband's work room or for when we have something that might tear a regular garbage bag.
The thing is, even if you do keep the lamp, it is absolutely fine! You e decluttered so much already and it’s ok if you need a little longer to declutter the really sentimental stuff 🖤
You actually excel at planning things out. Why don't you draw out your basement and start designating your specific areas so that you may have a clearer and concise plan. I betcha you gonna do awesome
Ms Heart, your progress over the years is AMAZING, you are rocking these basement declutters and I am mindblown by how much you are letting go of each up load. This is truly beautiful to watch. You are already a champion in my eyes. 👏👏👏👏👏
You amaze me each week with your progress! So exciting to see the basement opening up so much. You are definitely on track for your goal for the basement this year ❤️ Keep working those strong decluttering muscles!
I can almost feel how stressed you were when you used to put tubs with paper and candy etc in storage instead of taking time to toss/recycle it. You have come so far and I'm so proud of you! The basement looks awesome. In the futurue, maybe you can have yard sale/operation Christmas child etc (things that are temporary) under the stairs so you don't haave to put it with everything else, but I don't remember how much space you have there... However...it's so cool that you have so much space in the basement! Lots of love!
Whoo Hoooo! I remember when that was all covered! You teach and set an example at the same time! I never thought of that; that there is no "cure" for hoarding.
I know privacy is a valid concern for hubby and the boys but could we see before/after piles when they do their declutter decisions? Sorry if this has been asked/addressed before.
Awe, absolutely!!! My youngest son very much wants to be on camera and I’m slowly transitioning him onto camera. I’m still praying about it but he’s starting his own series in March cleaning up his room 💙💙💙
Suggestions ❤ coming from a place of love. ⚫️ Seperate the sentimental and yard sale completely by having them on opposite walls. Technically since you made room in the Christmas cave you could technically use the extra space to store sentimental until you are ready to declutter them. Maybe it gives you a year to process the emotions? And a timeline to work forward. ⚫️ The less bins you have the less items to be kept? Might help the children also. ⚫️ I can’t wait to see the boys work on their play room :) Some taller bookshelves might be great, can help separate the room a little for them and they are getting taller. Also a TV stand to get the TV and video games off the floor in case of any water issues + functional storage. Use more length of the room and it’ll make the room feel bigger… 😊 Good video ❤
If you ever have a busy week and can't film a long video you can do a "get rid of 5 large things". An old TV, an old stationary bike that doesn't get used, bulky shelves, old sowing machine... quick and yet VERY satisfying video.
Brilliant my Friend!!! I needed you like week before because I had to work 6 days this week 😵💫 Last week I was creating videos & editing 12 hours each day!! When I cover vacation again in April, I’ll keep this right in my pocket and dedicate it to you 🦄🌟💗🙏🏼🐱
Looking forward to the boys organisation and their donations for the Yard sales! They can use Saint Patrick Mask to celebrate Saint Patricks day! Say Hi to them from Ireland!
You have gotten so far! You are such an inspiration, and your videos are one of the highlights of my week. Keep on going, you are doing amazing things.
Actually you might be able to unscrew the lights broken dome off and then list it for free on a buy and sell. Many people might redecorate and use new covers anyways.
Some of the really ,in good shape baby things , ❤you love ,you can save for future grandkids?! Time flies by fast, very fast.. Even if your future daughters in laws may not like the baby stuff from your sons, you can use it in your home for a place for grandchildren!! BUT only keep very special items for grandkids ❤ Maybe thinking about future grand babies will help you get rid of some of your childhood things, that are not that good enough WHEN it TIME,maybe after the other things in your basement is organized… JUST A THOUGHT 👶👶
Absolutely brilliant as always. You will have the storage unit empty as quick as the basement, well done 🙇♀️ I love how much Miss Pepper helps you every time 🐈 Oh another yard sale, I can’t wait. Looking forward to seeing you go through the bins too. Keep up the fantastic work. Have a great weekend. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐🐈🦄
I can't wait to finally see your basement organized into zones like craft area, workout area, kids play area, storage area etc. You're worked so hard to get this far! Well done! I believe in you! 💜
🎉 There is a market for 80's and 90's items. You could probably sell them and replace the anxiety with the thoughts of using that money for growing your channel even more. This helps me move forward 🎉
If you are a visual person, maybe you can make drawings of the basement. Like, how is it right now, how you would like to be in summer, in the end of the year, and an ultimate vision of how would be ideally. I think it can maybe help you to continue your work more clearly.
I'm having a classic ADHD moment. On my television is clutterbug Cas HGTV show hot mess and I'm watching your video on my phone 😂 my kids love watching the "declutter" show!
Great Question!!! My kids use that TV bc it has the old hook ups for my original Nintendo NES!! Lol My boys like playing on my “retro” video gaming system!!
Having watched you for years, I just watched an episode of Hoarders. I couldn't believe how horrible these people were to the lady. Even someone calling himself a psychologist.

Wow. When they go through the toys It will be so clear and clean, that is amazing. Great Job!!! You have room for shelves and even a work space or gaming area!!
A couple ideas and thoughts on the lamp. Personally, it would be hard for me to get rid of too. From one mama to another. I would try to find a way to keep it. Put it on a little side table or toy shelf in the basement near a play area for the boys. Keep it in a container for memory sake. If it means that much to you it’s absolutely okay to keep it. If later on you decide you can part with it I would take a couple pictures of it and make a sentimental photos album on your phone to go back and look at the items when you want to remember them. I love coming back to your videos every week. ❤ keep up the good work! You’re amazing.
How wonderful does that look- well done-you’re doing brilliantly and just imagine when you’re all done with the garage sale how much more space you’ll create 😊 love from Southampton, England x
Before you do the craft kno mari, remember you have craft things in the laundry room. Maybe another declutter round in laundry and shed areas for the yard sale?
Yessss!!! What a great memory you have!!! I was thinking I have to combo Laundry Room Declutter with Crafts around the same time!! You’re so awesome 💗💗💗
Omg! The free space towards the playing-area looks SOOOOO good!! I am so happy for you to be able to fill this new free air with children laughter and happy plays
December 2023: I store plastic bags by flattening them and then rolling them. I use them as wastebasket liners and cat litter disposal. I keep two small makeup bagsful (about 35). Tina, Al's wife
Toys are the next thing on my declutter list. I would like to reduce them by half. We shall see. When Carter moves out in August, I'm going to turn his room into the toy room. Yay! It will be the toy/Cara homework/ sewing room.
Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed your video! How long did you work in there? I have been watching you, A Slob Comes Clean, Clutter Bug, and Minimalist Mom over the past year and have made so much progress decluttering! The two big messy areas left are the attic and garage. I appreciate how you are giving yourself grace to move forward at your own pace, allowing yourself to keep certain things while strengthening your decluttering muscles and letting go of others! Not every accomplishment is achieved in 4 hours or over a weekend! Thank you for the humble and "real" approach!
Having my three boys is wonderful , but losing my two girls was traumatic…..please don’t ever feel guilty for having sentimental things for painful times in your life x x
I wish I could come and hold your hand and help you!!! I spent 3 years decluttering my very large house and I can finally say that it is done!!! You seem to "shuffle" clutter a lot. You got rid of some, but looking into your clear bins, there is no way you cant get rid of half that stuff!! I know you're trying, but trust me, you will so much better if you are a little relentless!!!!
Super impressed by the progress in the basement! Watching it got me starting to think what I could do to give myself enough dopamine to work on my own basement. One thought I had was putting your childhood nativity in the Christmas Cave and displaying it at Christmas.
Shopping bags are a plague I can't help myself. Even here in Germany where eco bags got introduced ages ago instead of bringing them with me I either get a new one (preferably one with a different print) or I try to surpress my horder tendencies and just go shopping with a wheeled trolley since all the shops are in walking distance anyway.
Hello friend, i think you should move the yardsale bins from the basement to avoid this mess again , and for the empty bins don't close them ,so you don't forget that theyre empty You really need to organize the craft area Good job
I want to thank you for these videos. I am so happy to have found you. I have two friends with hoarding disorder and I struggled so to understand it -- I guess I am the opposite in that the crowded full spaces are what make me feel anxious -- so I was having such a time trying to be there for them. Now I can follow their thought processes some and it's just wonderful. I would love to recommend your channel to them but I don't think they identify as hoarders so I am not sure if that would be helpful to them at this point in their journey. Interested in your thoughts on that. Take care
I’m excited for when you get to the Halloween stuff! I have a lot of that too. Can you give us a tour of the storage unit and attic?🥰 you’re doing a great job!
It might help to Fold the plastic bags neatly and it will take up less space and maybe in a smaller container or just a big plastic bag. Awesome job for all the hard work and tidying the bed room. Keep going and you are such an inspiration for many 🥳🎊👏
@@ahoardersheart I reuse plastic food containers (specifically the kind Rice Select comes in but i dont see why things like mayo jars wouldnt work) for this purpose. I cram a bunch in each one and have one going at a time. It takes up far less space bc they're being compacted but takes less spoons/time than folding. Maybe that'd work for you or someone else who happens to see this :)
You could use the lamp from the nursery in your craft area? That way you are able to use it and it will make the area more special. Well don’t on another great video ❤
If you think you may or you think your spouse might have ADHD. I highly recommend the book the ADHD effect on Marriage. The book along with steps my husband and I took saved our marriage. The book just brought us awareness and helped us to get the help we need. Highly highly recommend and if the person you believe is undiagnosed read this book to see how to maybe take some steps.
That looks amazing I have been binge watching your videos and it’s starting to spark my motivation to start decluttering and cleaning thank you for your honesty big hugs to you and the family
I have relatives who are dealing with the same disorder. I love them but I'm not sentimental at all so I often don't understand and become frustrated. You are so blessed to have a supportive family, especially your husband. You're doing great! Keep going!
I don’t know how full your garage is but it would be a good idea to start storing your yard sale things in the garage so they are out the basement and upstairs already so it’s easier to get them out on yard sale day

I think garage is pretty full and too cold now for her to declutter it. Probably mostly Hubby's stuff anyway.
There are older garage declutter videos on this channel. There's no space for more stuff. It's on the smaller side.
I couldn't click on this video fast enough. You are inspiring.
You are so so sweet!!! Thank you so so much 🦄💗🌟💜🙏🏼
Omg my ears perked up when I heard you say yard sale! I love those videos!
You are doing such a great job. Yes, it's inspiring.
Why you don't declutter some empty bins as well??
The basement is really coming along! Won't it be exciting when you can set up your craft area?
Thank you so much, It will be super exciting indeed 🦄💜🙏🏼🌟🦄💜🙏🏼🌟
