Oh I totally forgot to mention good sandwich Balis actually shouldn’t tab. My Superfly doesn’t tab, my Gaboon clone doesn’t, my Orion also doesn’t not even my demon tabs and good costume raps doesn’t either. If they do it could be for multiple reasons either the tune, the pivots turn loose or the washers are to small. Since you mentioned that the tune is fine and armed shark hardware usually don’t looses up a lot. You could try out using some thicker washers if you have some but keep in mind that you than also have to find something for the standoffs too. Think that should be able to fix that problem 🤔.
yeah, maybe i didnt get my point across right, i was thinking about thin scale sandwich balis. My antarctic for example has some of the best tolerances ive seen so sandwich balis can definitely be made right too. btw, how is the gaboon clone? Ive been thinking of getting one at some point
@@robinesch29 Yes that’s right thin scale and or liner+scale sandwich Balis do suffer more with tab issues. Especially if they don’t have the best hardware like the BRS stock one because they get more impacted by drops and getting loose. I still think it is some what of an design flaw if they start to tab easily because they didn’t Faktor enough blade clearance in. I really like the Garboon clone so far, I think due to personal preferences it’s my favorite Bali currently. The As Nami is still a little bit better in terms of tune and and quality but it dose comes close to it. It fixes a lot of things that I didn’t liked about the Nami. It has gimping that is actually useful. Because of the sandwich design I don’t feel the the sides are sometimes to slippery. It dose still feels small and round enough for everything but not that it can be too round at times. The pins are a little bit loose but at least they didn’t get stuck as they can on the Nami. Didn’t really liked the stock setting no weight screws and a strong endweight / handle bias. First I removed both weight pins and switched the spacer to bushings that gave me a really light neutral feel that I really liked. But unfortunately the bottom hardware turned loose that way and it did suffered a little much for roll overs and Chaplins. Currently I still run no weight screws no pins and only the spacers. That way I don’t have a problem with hardware getting loose a bit more handle bias than I would like but it is good enough. Like I said the tune isn’t perfect but it still is fine and I absolutely don’t have tab not even at the time the hardware got a little loose. It is nice they give you steel washers and a t15 bit but honestly I rather would had spare bushings and pivots which they don’t give you. Over all I would recommend it if you like small light and agile Balis.
@@darkangel999 thanks for the in depth info! I was kinda thinking it would be similar to the Nami too. Maybe you can try zippy spacers for the ends, but they are too damn expensive tbh 😂 if I get money before they are discontinued and out of stock I’ll definitely pick one up. I just love the looks of it and by your description I’m sure I’d like it too
@@robinesch29 No Problem. It dose feel very similar to the Nami but just different enough to have both if you like that style of Bali. In my opinion if you think you like it you will enjoy it.
@@darkangel999 yeah, I like the looks of the Medusa and empusa stuff too, but just as you said too, they are also too heavy and chunky for my preferences. I like more thin and lighter balisongs.
I saw the one on release and was thinking about getting one on my next order. Yup totally forgot about that 😅. I already have much better and more expensive ones but I do like steel ones and that kinda unique balance they have. @@robinesch29 I definitely hope so. Maybe I even get some squid Ti kraken Handels for it if I like it a lot 🤷🏻♀️. Fair the canyon isn’t bad absolutely has an unique feeling that you either love or hate but can’t really compete with an decent Ti Bali.
