The fact that my teacher played cocomelon in a grade 8th mandarin class. It was honestly depressing as hell.

I am so glad I stopped my sister's from watching this. Granted it was mostly because it gives me migraines but I did have a bad feeling about the show

I mostly agree that the largest responsibility lies with the parents, but that doesn't take away the creators of Cocomelons' responsibility for what they create and target toward children. IF what was said about the detailed distraction gauging and the effects of such short and quick cuts are true, they still hold responsibility for creating something that ultimately is designed to keep the attention of children over everything else.
Edit: Especially since they claim themselves to be creating content that's supposed to be good for a child's development.

Brainwashing or not, I just think it's emblematic of the staggering degree to which a lot of kid-focused content has devolved.

I agree that it is up to the parents to monitor their children when they watch stuff, but at the same time, Cocomelon is advertised as a safe learning show for babies and toddlers. So it is really odd that they decided to make their show as addictive as possible and also for some reason decided to make it NOT educational, aka they lied to the parents that thought it would be safe for their children, and then have the gull to be like it is not our fault at all, we just made a horrible show that is full of lies. Still, it is in fact you the parent's fault for getting tricked by us a company that has spent thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars to figure out how to fool you the consumer as best as we can. Like for something the company legit knows is not good for children, why is all the blame put on the parents?
Like, imagine if you decide to get a new healthy food or drink for your child, that you have been getting advertised only to hear on the news that there are in fact zero healthy ingredients in it or even worse that there are actually cancer-causing chemicals, or lead or mercury for that matter. Like I know for a fact some Prime drinks have trace amounts of lead in them, and those Mr. Beast candy bars were advertised as being better for you than Hershey bars, but they have more salt, sugar, and fat than Hershey bars do. like most sodas, teas, or energy drinks say on the front of the can and in the ads, contains real fruit juice or full of fruit, but the nutrition label might legit say 0% juice in the product or less than -1% juice in the product. All of those including Cocomelon are misleading or just straight-up lies, meant to 100% fool the consumer into buying or using the product.
