I couldn't care less if someone buys a skin from one of my previous BP. Like, it ain't that deep. I'll never understand the "flex" of rare skins.

I think they should put old battlepasses up again, if people want to grind it out, let them. Not a fan of individual skins from those passes being sold seperately though.
Same. Id rather work and grind for them rather than just being spoon fed from the item shop. I like having something to work for and something to keep coming back to. Bringing them back to grind old passes gives players that replay ability to players.
I think this will happen in 2025 when GTA 6 comes because this is the only way they will keep players in GTA 6 comes because a lot of ogs are going to go to GTA 6 by way so what is the point keeping the skins logged with the ogs so you're barely going to even see anybody walking these old skins so I believe one day they're going to bring back over by the passes and it's probably going to be GTA 6 comes cuz they have to do something very big to compete with GTA 6

Exactly. Releasing BP skins in the shop would decimate the longevity of the game, but introducing a legacy BP system would increase it, especially if they bring back super styles for that extra grind.

If not skins, then at least things like emotes or music packs, it's safe to say they have much less significance.
People who were only drawn to the game when Zero Build arrived would have missed out on a lot of really good stuff that isn't skins
100% no one really cares about all the wraps, or music packs. But emotes have been viewed as Taboo/flex items like the skins.

I think at the very least they should bring the crossover BP skins and cosmetics to the shop, even if for a steeper price. either that, or let you purchase old battle passes for a little more with no time limit, but you still have to grind it out to earn the stuff

Yes they should absolutely do that. I didn’t start playing regularly till no build so I missed out on marvel and dc skins. I don’t see them doing it tho

Buying a battle pass around $10 and grinding for multiple items and characters is a great deal. So imagine adding these characters to the item shop maybe a year later and they're selling them around $15 to $20 each. It's a win win for epic games. I think battle pass items should be limited exclusive. I think the only things that should stay exclusive to the original battle pass is maybe the alternate colors for example like the gold and chrome versions of those characters.
But then those who only grinded to tier 100 chould be pissed because they chould be left with nothing exclusive but were still ogs
@@specter.t-800 OG doesn't matter. Money matters. It's just my opinion and like I said it's already a great deal buying the battle pass because there's so many items and characters at a huge discount. The grinding part is a chance and opportunity to obtain all those items.

The thing about the Spider-Man skin is that the one in the battle pass is the classic suit. The ones in the shop are based off something else.
People don't understand oh it's Spider-Man Spider-Man skins in shop they're all different one I think it's funny how people think miles from spider-man is spider-man but he's not and then Spider-Man 99 is Spider-Man but the future Tom Holland hasn't been back yet I don't know if he's actually going to make a return he is not playing Spider-Man at the moment cuz he's trying to take a break and live life

It would be nice to be able to buy old BP skins after some time has passed, sucks to miss out on skins like Predator which came out when I wasn't even playing the game yet
Started in zero build. So kinda sucks but I’m okay with not having those og skins you mentioned or the marvel season. You make a good point on why it doesn’t matter if ogs are mad if they do bring them back.
I do not understand why the ogs will get mad half of them don't even play the game anymore and the only ones do they don't even use half of the skins anyway they just sit in the locker then you have the people from party Royal you were just sitting there and just flex and don't even play the game right I used to be OG my main account cuz it got hacked

I think a good compromise for players who missed out would be if u got the current seasons pass an reached max level then u could buy an start work on a past one that's being promoted possibly at a slightly higher selling point to add value to the players who already bought an unlocked it, and with every battle pass they re-release they pick a special skin from it to make a new special variant of that only original battle pass owners can get an flex, so they still have their exclusiveness, people didn't miss out on all the things they want, and epic gets even more money an play time from people
I didn't start playing til Ch4 S3 when my kids and grandkids pulled me in, so I haven't been a part of many Battle Passes. Personally I'd love to have some of the original super hero skins, but at the same time I understand that I wasn't playing when they were available. So I really don't dwell on it. As far as the skins that I have earned in the BPs, I'd be fine if they sold them to new players.

Paying for the Battle Pass once and rolling the VBucks over to the next season is definitely a great value. Tons of content/aesthetics for under $10, plus the enjoyment of the game while you play to earn the levels. Most people would pay more than that for the game itself.
I think at the very least they should add the option to finish a battle pass you never completed. If someone bought chapter 1 season 4 Battle pass and never had the time that season to grind for omega and omega full lights, I think they deserve the chance to earn those cosmetics.
Another option I don’t think anyone would be mad about would be bringing back battle pass skins to the shop, in either a slightly different style, or giving OG owners their own edit style, like the purple skull trooper.
The annoying thing about chapter 1 is that starting in season 5 you could grind skin challenges after that season was over. Things like Ice king’s “outlast 1,000 opponents” or whatever it was maybe 10,000? Were doable into like season 8 or something like that.
I think it'd be fine, i mean it would make epic a ton of money that's for sure, since you're reselling a bunch of skins people paid 10 dollars for for probably like 15 to 20 bucks individually.

I couldn’t care any less if a newer player could get skins that I have. I just find the concept of gatekeeping skins and lording it over other players to be bizarre.
The only logical solution epic could implement is the option to access old battle passes should apply to players who has some form of proof they played during that season, but with a catch.
1) You can’t unlock the super levels, the V-Bucks given in said pass, or any of the extra styles rewarded from the weekly quests.
2) You cannot get the bonus skin associated with that chapter and season.
(Figured at least the ‘OGs’ can have at least a few specific things that only they have.)
agree with this, it wouldnt feel unfair as unvaulting exclusive skins, and theres this one emote called free flow that I bought the battlepass for but didnt have enough time to get it back in chapter 1
That about the smartest option I have heard, and being an OG who isn’t a big streamer I agree. It’s not most general players that care. It’s the big content creators who scream and rage about it. The loudest voices and smallest population in FNBR back then because streamers encouraged more people to FN. Now FN is so popular today that they shouldn’t have that control over Epic anymore. But they still do sadly.

I bought the battle pass for Chapter 3 Season 2, but wasn't able to play so I missed out on a few skins I really wanted. Personally, the way I would do it is if you had purchased a previous season's battle pass you could return to it once you reached level 200 in a current battle pass.
I’ve only been playing since Ch4S4 so have missed a heck of a lot of skins I’d love to own. I also drop a lot of money on the store (using code EvolveJake naturally) so would have no problem paying (good money) for The Foundation, Midas, Spider-Man and Master Chief.
I play with a lot of OG’s and none of us can understand the skin gatekeeping mentality, but every fanbase has its lunatic fringe that enjoys gatekeeping so I guess Fortnite is no different.

i really want the lara croft skin. And also i can understand a lot of people that want to play as their favorite hero. So i would say there should be a chance to get a few of them. At least the collab ones.
I also wouldnt care about a reskin, to see the difference between the "OG" ones.

Fortnite added reboot vans when players were flocking to Apex Legends, the game that invented that feature. If we all flocked to Halo, would Fortnite bring back old battle passes to the item shop?

I do think there should be some sort of legitimate statistics on skin rarity and item shop availability. The red knight was the first legendary skin I bought thinking that legendary skins rarely came through only to have it in the shop every week or so since Q3 2023

Midas is one of if not THE most important characters in the whole storyline and him never being ever again to be seen or used by people like me who care about the character is tragic just because we didn't play in that season
This probably won’t happen, but I do have a few ideas
1. Trading things could work, but only with close friends you’ve been friends with for at least 1 weeks.
2. Maybe when Fortnite is in its stale state when there isn’t anymore collabs left, they can restart the whole game from season 1
3. Instead of getting a current battle pass you could get an old one for more vbucks and more grinding.
I respect those who like exclusivity, but I think that Fortnite would make BANK if they started back from chapter 1 in the next few years
For those who are too clingy to their rare stuff, then I feel for you, but I don’t agree with you. So maybe Fortnite needs to give every bp skin a restyle. Maybe Rick Sanchez could be replaced with the different Rick’s featured across the show.

I personaly dont really care if they bring back old bp. But if they do, then finally 20/30 year olds who havent touched grass in their life and still live in their moms basement would no longer feel almighty just because they have some pixels to "flex". I think new/casual players should get whatever skin they want
Those mini battle passes they do like with the Yuji skin in the mini jujutsu kaisen pass. Skins from mini battle passes come back to the shop so why cant they do that with normal battle passes too? People say it would make the battle pass less desirable to grind as you can buy it later but if you get it when its in the pass its both cheaper and you dont have to wait as long. Im all for old battle passes returning and i hope at some point Epic at least let us choose one old pass to complete

Agent Peely was level 300 to unlock and begin leveling up and level 350 is what you needed to have him completely gold. That season was a real grind for people and getting XP was nothing like how easy it is today.. I don't even stream or anything and I'm nearly level 300 and didn't buy a single level. In fact between BR and Save The World I typically been finishing at around level 400 since mid chapter 3 when I started playing my Save The World founders account again, XP + free vbucks.. say less. If you purchased a battle pass I can get behind the idea to continue its progress at anytime instead of it being locked within a certain time frame of a season, but I don't really see them releasing an old BP in the shop.
I get your point about players not earning or doing anything special to warrant the entitlement to their skins, but at the same time paying for the battle pass implies that you have to buy it then and complete It. I think a lot of people would be mad that they thought they had to buy it and spend their time playing it then and there. And then to just have that cosmetic dropped in the item shop I bet a lot of people would've just waited
I think that is true people would not just wait cuz you're kind of spending more money if you wait for them to be added into the shop you had a better chance of grinding them out in the battle pass so hey I lost my main account so I used to own all the battle passes from season 2 clear to chapter 3 I lost my account so but I'm going to say I have no issue buying them again just telling you that is not true
@batmanrise4737 maybe not consciously say I'm going to wait for this to come to the item shop, but if battle pass skins aren't exclusive there would not be urgency/ FOMO and then potentially you've lost that customer forever

@@dyladino by the way I'm going to say this they never said the battle passes exclusive the only thing they said is kind of like how they have like skins and all that for example like Deadpool it said exclusive to the battle pass they never said the battle pass is exclusive because if you even go on the battle pass in the game and you go where it says buy the battle pass refund tickets cannot be used and it also says you haven't through it like May something for this battle pass the new one but it never says exclusive so get technically and they can bring it back but to my point I will be way more matter if I grind all that stuff and I lose my account like I did I'll be way more matter if they did not bring it into the shop I mean dude the skins will cost more than the battle pass but I have a better idea anyway instead of bringing them into the shop make a marketplace like a skin marketplace this marketplace will only work with skins you can't get kind of like about to battle pass skins and exclusive skins basically it's kind of like what rainbow really hope when did they do this
I don't think you should be able to flat out buy the skins. If you could buy old passes and level them up that would be neat, provided its a lot faster than the current season's progression. But that said there is something to be said about exclusive skins like the now infamous black knight. Personally I want people to know I have that skin from the season it came out and for it to still be somewhat unique. Obvious answer is to add styles that show off that you got them when they were original, sort of keeps everyone happy.
If they made every season but season 2 and the black knight buyable I wouldn't complain. It's just that one skin in particular is so notorious I don't think they should just hand it out again. Anything else would be fine. I suspect most people want spider man, croft, doom etc etc which are more from recent seasons anyway, so maybe its just from chapter 2 onwards to really keep those OG skins special. I think that's the happy medium that appeases the most people.
I want the theme "No sweatin" from chapter 3, but was told it would never be available again. I'd love to be able to buy it at least.
I also finished the battlepass with ahsoka in it, I didnt bother about finishing the og battlepass since the extra looks were the same as the last battlepass. the new battle pass tho will be played through, currently at level 135 and after my exams i go back to grinding
I just started playing fortnite 3 months ago, as a new player its disappointing I'll never get Predator or Eren Jaeger. But I had friends had been telling to try it for years so nobodys fault of my own. But counter point my kid now old enough and just started playing, I also see how there's a whole generation of people who missed out.
Since new people join all the time…..they should have an eventual chance to get favorite skins…..like I came in after Lara Croft….id love to have her because I love Tomb Raider….but it’s impossible.

I didn't start playing until the very end of 2023 and I've seen a lot of skins I wish I could buy from the past so it would be cool if we could maybe do very specific challenges that are moderate to hard difficulty to earn various skins, kind of the way cod has done their unlock system, you can choose the item you want to work towards then with every challenge you complete you get closer to unlocking said item you chose. And you can only work on one item at a time.
i missed the marvel season and i’m bummed bc now i will never have a chance to get those skins.
I'm a pretty new Fortnite player, started playing a few days before Chapter 5 season 1 ended. I really wish i started earlier in the season though because that Peter Griffin skin is
🔥. The way i look at it is whether you earn a skin or buy it, you're still buying a skin. For newer players like me, I'd love to see older skins (especially the crossover skins) being added into the item shop. If you got the skin during the battle pass then you would've gotten it earlier than everyone else who purchased it in the item shop. In my eyes, skins don't reflect skill at all since literally everything can be purchased if you have the money.
I started on switch in chapter 2 season 3 and then switched to PS5 in season 7. I’m just bummed I could t have my skins from earlier seasons across platform. That could just be how I set it up, but I don’t think so. I have no problem with the rest of it.
It would be sick if they brought back battle pass collabs and iconic skins in battlepass and made them into mini battle passes like the tmnt one currently
It’s just a video game. the only people you are impressing with your “rare” skin is likely 10-12 year old kids.
Hilariously, they are already doing this with the mini battle passes, by putting the skins in the shop. They already did it with the Jujutsu Kaisen. They will also do it with the ninja turtle mini pass. Guess they are trying to "normalize" it for this babies to calm down and eventually implement it with the old battlepasses
To be honest, the only battlepass skins I do not want to come back is any skin pre Chapter 1 season 7. At that point you had to grind hard and it was a lot harder to gain levels. Then they added the buy levels, which meant you buy your way to 100 levels of the pass and then earn the extra skin cosmetics levels. In chapter two they tried it again by giving us hard to grind skin upgrades so many people never corrupted their skins fully. Today all you have to do is play a couple hours a day and make sure to do dailies and weekly tasks and you can get everything, you have other modes tied just to leveling. In a nutshell, I don’t care either way today. But I do think any colab skin should return if people want them in the shop.
On a side note: Epic has tried to mitigate the complaints by creating variants of BP skins. On a few they hit a home run, but the Omega Night in no way is as good as the Omega. It’s huge and bulky and people like sleek skins.
I think the iconic movie and video game crossover skins should come back, original Fortnite skins can stay rare/unique ect but it’s not really fair that people can’t buy their favourite characters from movies/games/comics ect
Solid snake was the only reason I got the pass, the Original skins did not interest me, though I tend to love good original skins better than most IP collabs. I also try to have the self control to not spend the vbucks earned for next battle pass but very rarely I can actually do it! Lol
i would like to see an option that once you get to level 200 of a season, you have to option to buy One previous battle pass to work on till the end of that season
Buying old BPs for like twice the price (honestly worth more, I wouldn't mind paying more at all) would be awesome for their profits because once you run out of BP stuff to grind, there isn't a lot of incentive to play anymore for that season. I know I tend to stop playing apex and fortnite when I max it out unless I like the super styles, which.. eh, not usually.
So, selling old BPs to keep people playing and potentially buying stuff in the item shop more often would only benefit epic.

I missed out on every battle pass before chapter 2, season six, and that hurts because another player spending money in a game before me, also, I wish Fortnite could bring back the Collabs at least because that’s is the only reason why I care due to the fact, that most of the marvel skins and DC skins are in those battle passes like the Marvel season and iconic characters like banana and mitas .
My friends wanted me to play.
I found the hybrid skin and wanted to buy it, it was the only thing that made me play that game.
After a while i realized the exclusivity of BP skins and that one was from 1 year before i knew that game exist.
Found vendors with accounts with that skin at 100% worth 1k€ at 50€
Had a thought, then i had a fight with a wall and stopped playing, also, i decided not to buy an acc and wait 1000 years to have they sell that skin out of battle pass.
At the very least, battle pass collab skins should make their way to the item shop. Darth Vader, Superman, og Spider-Man (especially for the black symbiote style). Skins that you just know an ungodly amount of people would buy if they had the chance.
Personally, if somehow it does happen, I want winter fest stuff to return too. I’ve gone too long playing as Han without the Falcon glider. Also maybe the Mando beskar pieces, I don’t think I ever purchased that battle pass but I still have the basic Mando skin without beskar and it crushes me. I just started playing during that time and wasn’t really familiar with how a battle pass worked.
As someone who played COD for years. FN’s monetization model feels more than fair.

I would like the crossover ones to be in the shop... at least the basic versions... if they had alt versions on the bonus levels of the BP keep those BP only or give those who already had the skin a special version they only get... really I dont see why people care if someone can buy something they previously bought... I agree if its a merit based award, those should try exclusive.

Fortnite would have start a new season like chapter 4 season 2 and make the tier 100 skin a non exclusive skin from the start after a year has passed. So everyone would be clear on Epic's intention to not make the whole Battle Pass but just the 100 skin. But all the bonus styles would be exclusive.
I feel the same way. I've played since the first day fortnite released and got the highest founders pack. However, I only played save the world (except for a few br matches). Fortnite was the first online game I ever played. So anyway, I missed out on all the battle passes until late chapter 2. I don't care about rarity. There's just a few skins I would've liked, for example Jules, meowcles, etc. Theres also just other accessories and sets i would've liked, aside from skins. What really got me to start getting battle passes was when they made xp available through stw and creative. I would play br for the quests and then grind the xp elsewhere. I'm decent enough in br, but it's still not my favorite game mode. It's just kind of monotonous, at least when you're solo. Playing br with friends is a lot more fun. This season I've been avoiding br like the plague lol. The new movement sucks and I really like the new Lego mode.

While I personally don't care if they sell previous battle pass skins. While they will initially make a grip of cash selling all the old & rare skins from the past. It will end up killing the goose who laid the golden egg. First just as many ppl who were happy to buy an old skin. Just as many ppl will be upset that they don't Have super rare skins anymore but even worse, they will have totalled killed that incentive for ppl to even buy the battle pass. What's the point if they aren't exclusive and you can just buy the ones you want alacarte down the road.
Me personally. I don't ever spend more than one per season 3.99 skin with the bonus 600 v bucks. I'm to the point where I take the bucks given to you in the battle pass and buy the next one and still have 600+ left over. I rarely purchase anything. Only super rare ones like snake eyes, Kratos, or other things from my youth I have nostalgia for.
Releasing special OG versions to the old battle pass owners, so you can offer the battle pass skins for sale seems like a solid compromise.
Most annoying part is when they gate keep the remixes, for example Tom Hollands spidey hasn't been back for a long while
As someone who does care about cosmetics and getting emotes and skins as enjoyment for me, it really sucks that I will never get the Gwen Stacy skin from a battle pass I didn't play for in Chapter 3. The bp system is a mixed bag because there are some people who have lives, go to work or school everyday and won't be able to play enough to unlock the entirety of the battle pass for that season. Then there are CCs and daily grinders who are able to sit and grind to level 200+ all day.
I’m a 35 year old dad who plays with his mates once a week on average and there may be a few extra days a month where I play.
I think I’ve completed all the battle passes. I wish some skins were available again such as predator!
But I don’t think the battlepass is failing or ruining gaming…I like unlocking things.

I’m one of those new players that just started playing in 2024 and sad I won’t own those cool past skins.
It's not that deep, skins aren't a meaningful flex. And with friends, I think it'd actually cool to be a team with the same skin. And its cool to see some other player matching with you too. that being said, I think it'd be cool if you could buy older bps, even if it was a little more than if you got it on the exact season it came out. I think the timer is still wack, though. seriously have to sacrifice so much time to lvl up if you're just a casual player.
I don't have a strong opinion on it, but as someone who didn't find the game until late 2020, it's definitely a bummer that there are so many skins I simply just can't ever own. It is what it is though.
I started playing in chapter 2. I don’t care about skins as much but there are emotes that I would like to have that was BP.
Is there skins from old battlepasses that I want? Yes. Do I care that I can’t get them not really I have plenty of skins already in my locker. However my suggestion to Epic if they were to make old battlepass skins available would be to not put them straight in the item shop but have you have to purchase the pass for those skins and level up like you do the current battlepass. Having a choice to do the current or old one is what I’m saying basically. However I doubt we ever see them do old battlepasses unless they become really desperate for money which since it’s Epic isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
As someone that just started in Chapter 5, I know my thoughts are jaded for sure. There are some skins I really want and would love to see available. But I do understand where veterans would be upset since they had to spend time and money to get them.
Patiently waiting for epic to re-release the Mandalorian... C'mon epic...... This is the way.

I'm more mad about people complaining about "fake defaults" whenever they died to a default. A lot of skilled defaults simply either have no money or choose not to waste money on cosmetics. I didn't like how cosmetics ownership is an indication of skill. This applies to the battle pass too.
I couldn't care less either I do understand the point of not putting them in the item shop that's a perk of getting the battle pass. There are 1 or 2 skins I would like to have but I'm not upset by it like you said it is what it is. Tfs catch you on the next one
Solution? What if a player got the ability to purchase X number of locked skins per year or per season such that they could get the one they are craving but the market is flooded, ogs aren't pissed, epic makes money, win, win, win. To be clear, I am like jake and do not really care but it seems like there is a simple solution out there.

I think it should’ve been done awhile ago to this day people still sell accounts due to these same bp skins also why gate keep skins from the players

They can reintroduce the collabs but NOT the original skins, and if they want them do a remake, want the original. WOMP FUCKING WOMP
I’ve said this before: the Level Up Quest Pass that comes at the end of the season should instead be an OG battle pass. During the last few weeks of every season, for an additional 1000 V-bucks, Fortnite should release an OG Battle Pass that has the top 3 or 4 skins from a previous battle pass. This would give us something to do at the end of the season, give new players a chance to “earn” the skins they missed out on, and give Fortnite revenue from pre-existing assets.
