    Today we discuss the fuel economy and max range of the Xtrainer 300. Let us know how far you get out of yours, or if you have another make of bike what you get from that!

    Excellent! Thanks for doing this test. I did my own test on my 2021 XT. Went through 2 Liters in 14.4 miles (23.2 km). My riding was light trail riding at close to sea level. Bike is completely stock with no mods. Those numbers give me roughly 60 miles, or 96.5 km per tank. Fairly close to to your numbers.

      That's some great info for the guys. The more data the better I say.

    Sounds roughly what I'm getting 2022 x 8 lt tank. I bank on 80km open singles and 50km hard enduro (bronze level stuff). I always carry at least 1.5lt in my backpack and 3 lt for hard enduro rides over 50km

      Thank Scott. Wow, how do you find carrying 3 litres of fuel? Is that in addition to a few litres of water in your backpack?

      Great question. I wondered that as well. @@HardUNduro

      @@HardUNduro That is about as much fuel as I carry as well, all the time. I don't really notice it over the tool kit and water I usually carry as well.
      Reason I carry that much fuel, whole family goes out, so that is between 4-6 bikes, and we have done over 90 KM in a single day. On those days I have no extra fuel left by the time we get to camp. Use it all up topping everyone off to get home, all worth it for a great day of riding.

    No more that 65 km per tank, hard enduro only, xt 2023, what do you think about that?

      Nice. That must be some hard country!

    So, not a good choice for crossing the Simpson desert then ? Any ideas on what the most economical 2 or 4 stroke dirtbike might be - CRF300 etc ?

    • @HardUNduro
      @HardUNduro  3 місяці тому

      Our mate has the CRF 300 Rally and it's an awesome touring bike. Even standard brilliant. Fuel injected so is good on the economy and service intervals are huge, I think 15k. check out itchyboots she went all over africa.
      All depends on what you want the bike for and how you are going to ride it. 👍 cheers

    Well there goes the idea of using for a dual sport coming up this fall and I don’t want to get a larger tank I love the feel of the stock tank
    Have to use the trusty 97 xr650l with 30k miles 😁

    I ride pretty much only snotty stuff in Victoria's Otway region. All the manufacturers represented in my riding group. The carby bikes definitely run out first in my experience whether that's the ktm, betas or sherco. The injected bikes do get a bit more ks ( obviously the fuel capacities are all slightly different ) but 70 ish ks seems to be close to or empty for all bikes in that environment.

      Thanks Clint..all that makes sense from what we've experienced I've heard only the Smart Carb can compete with the fuel injected bikes. Nice and cold down that way for riding, great area we love it. If I'm riding more than 70kms the track isn't single or sloppy enough for us haha. Cheers mate 👍👍👍🤘

      @HardUNduro yeah mate 70ks is a big day doing the type of riding I like 😅 it's not uncommon to do 15-20k and be on the bike all day lol. I'm on 2020 ktm 300 and have just bought a new 12 litre acerbis tank. One less thing to worry about 🤙🏻

    How does that compare to a wr250f?

    • @HardUNduro
      @HardUNduro  8 місяців тому

      Hi Paul. Totally different bikes and feel in my opinion. 4 stroke vs 2 stroke for starters. The WR feels a lot heavier. I do like the WR as a 4 stroke tho but I would take a KTM 350 over it any day. Hard to give an exact comparison for those reasons.

      @@HardUNduro Thank you so much for replying. I appreciate the advice, my main concern is fuel range as we go on long rides in the middle of nowhere. Also would you say that now European bikes reliability is equal to Japanese?

    Your MPG numbers are incorrect because you have not converted to Imperial gallons you have converted to US gallons. 10l/100kms = 28.25 MPG (Imperial). More importantly this also affects your range numbers.

    • @HardUNduro
      @HardUNduro  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi. Our intension here was to provide (US) Gallons as that's where the majority of our audience is from.
