Loved your vid as always. And I especially wanna say how much I appreciate how genuine and down to earth you are. Not asking for subscribers and likes on all your videos, but just enjoying what you do and being thankful. A true inspiration, thanks for sharing happiness.
Hi mikey! I am following you from the beginning of your channel. This is just a Thanksgiving comment from your fan. I love the fact that you're doing it wholeheartedly because you have the passion for it so we all love and enjoy your videos and specially being a foodie like you I too watch them wholeheartedly! Thanks and love from India!
Man this is crazy. I used to live in an appartment down the street from that first place in Prague when i studied abroad, ate their almost every weekend. You the man Mikey Chen! Thanks for bringing me back.
When I watch your videos, I feel like I have a wonderful world to travel. I’m 16 and I’m very inspired by your positivity and good attitude about food and culture.
Czechoslovak here. The dumplings are called knedle (I'm spelling this phonetically in English) and they're like a steamed bread, perfect for mopping up sauce. If you are in the Czech republic or Slovakia in the future make sure to try Yalita, Yrtiniza (pork sausages), halushki (kind of like spaetzle), and kapusta (sauerkraut with caraway seeds and bacon.) *all spelling is the best I can do to make this readable in English and get the right general pronunciation. If you ever want to chat about Czechoslovak food give me a shout on fb. Love your channel!
also tatarak, potato dumplings with sheep cheese (that's supposed to be official translation for halusky z bryndzou), for sure he needs to try tatra tea oh yea and some beer foods like pickled hermelin and drowners.
Nice video Mike! Im from Czech Republic, currently living in Portugal and you made me miss czech food so much right now! 😀 but you forgot to try the best one - Svíčková (beef, dumplings, vegetable sauce, cranberries and cream). Hope you try it next time 😊
Making me very sentimental as I lived in Prague for two years in 2003-2005 and I miss it terribly, as much as I love it where I am now. The traditional stuff is great, and they didnt have all the steak and burgers when I lived there. Good luck in Seattle!
So nice to see you spend some time catching up with Ben before you leave NY, it’s been such a long time since you last did a video with him and he’s been your friend all these years!!
I love Prague!!! I grew up with those plum dumplings, but we had them topped with bread crumbs fried in butter and sprinkled with sugar, no sauce like in the video. OMG it’s sooo good!!! I’m craving them now!!
Czech Food Is awesome My family is czech but everyone who knew how to cook died before I was born so now that I'm an adult I am learning about my culinary heritage and its fuckign awesome!
I'm glad you enjoy Europe for what it really represents - architecture & history! I'm sorry you had a bad experience from my city London, I recommend revisiting for sure when you can!
Are you going to Hungary or Germany soon Mikey? You'll love the food in either country. I've had food in Poland is awesome too! They have pirogies! 😋 😋
I was at the castle too. It’s best if you wait for the afternoon when all the soldiers do a march. The cathedral is a great sight too. Would recommend 100%
I LOVED Prosperity Dumpling when I went to NYU... I would walk to campus from my work study in the LES and would stop there to get dinner or a snack... So cheap! I recommended them to everyone who would visit NYC. I felt like a part of me died when I heard it closed down. I'm so glad to hear they've reopened.
This part of the world gets such a bad food rep overseas so Goulash was a pleasant eye-opener for me in Central Europe. (Prague and Budapest particularly). So flavourful. (Also the fried cheese in Prague!)
I love Czech ( Czechia - Bohemia) and i love Czech food goulash. And Prague a major city in the middle of Europe. Very very Good. Beau pays et une excellente cuisine. France: Beau pays et une excellente cuisine.
Those dumplings in Czech are very much like the dumplings we cook in the UK. I absolutely love them, proper Winter comfort food, stodgy & warming! I literally just ate (pork steaks) but I want to eat again!
Mike‼️‼️. I love❤️ your videos!! You're a natural!! When do you think you'll go to CROATIA , to check out their beautiful scenery and delicious food❓‼️‼️‼️
Who doesn’t love the fact you can have a fresh burger 🍔 and piece of steak 🥩 at 8.30 in the morning hehe ...Prague looks beautiful and thank you for sharing all your food experiences with us all ..Your so fabulous ..Wishing you lots of luck with the move Mikey ...xx💖🤗
lol it's heavy because it's supposed to stick to your ribs and keep you warm in the winter but oh so good, that snitzle especially looked good. Looking sharp in that suit Mike
I’m sure us Seattle folk are eager to see you feature our favorite places soon! If you make it out in time you should check out The Bite of Seattle annual food fest (July 19-21). Welcome!
might sound strange but if u ever find urself in prague again, i highly recommend the vietnamese restaurants there!! czech rep has one of the biggest vietnamese minorities
Glad you enjoyed Prague. The dumpling dough is usually pretty heavy. It is all that white flour, even in the schnitzel. No wonder you felt it. I usually eat potatoes with these dishes. Thanks for the tip with Nase Maso, I had no idea they were open this early in the morning.
Great video as always Mike, all the food looked delicious! Just a side note, get a non-black suit. Black suits are only for funerals and black tie events. It's a very formal color. Dark blues and grays work for everything else, with a tie that isn't too flashy but still has personality. Sorry I wear a lot of suits, just trying to be helpful
Best of Luck in Seattle, Headed back to the Midwest after living there a few years. Some recommendations Manao- Thai Arashi- Japanese Ramen Nana's Green Tea- Japanese Dessert Cafe
Also, those fruit dumplings you need to eat with sugar and sour cream and bread crumbs. That's the way we eat them in Balkans. The filling is extra sour and the outside doesn't have much taste, so you really need sugar and that sour cream + bread crumbs for crunch (fried bread crumbs). If you tried them that way, instead of eating them plain only with sour cream, you'd probably love them too! (But to be honest, fruit dumplings are something what is the best when made at home, it's for sure not a dish to eat in a restaurant. Grandmas and moms know the best).
Yeah, I saw that...I always taught my child that restaurants are not playgrounds and playgrounds are the place to have fun. I like the way Mikey kept eating never skipping a beat! 😂
Those burgers and that bone marrow looked so savory and delicious ! So you're moving back to Seattle? You stay busy on the regular Mike.😉 Safe travels and take it easy, asap! Ha!
How wonderful! You look great in a suit Mikey, that looked like a wonderful event and congratulations to you. I love that burger and bone marrow 😍 omg yum!
*"Salads.....We'll skip THAT line" LOL*
I bet he'll switch that song when his cholesterol is off the charts lol
Most people's top priority is networking.
Mike: let's see what food do we have here.
@high horse Haters always hate! I think he's a very down to earth guy and people like that. I would love to be his friend.
high horse Well you could have talked to him then instead of observing and posting on the internet ... LAME.
@high horse & if you did talked to him..I think its pretty sad for you to even make such remarks for him to see on social media.
@high horse he has friends, maybe just not in that event. Don't need to be so snarky.
I have not seen any indication of his behavior that suggests he is awkward or that he has no friends. You are an idiot.
Loved your vid as always. And I especially wanna say how much I appreciate how genuine and down to earth you are. Not asking for subscribers and likes on all your videos, but just enjoying what you do and being thankful. A true inspiration, thanks for sharing happiness.
You are absoutely right !!
Mike's videos are the only videos I like before even watching the whole thing. You know you're in for good content, every time.

Im from Czech Republic and i love to see you enjoying our traditional food keep up the great work🔥❤
Man this is crazy. I used to live in an appartment down the street from that first place in Prague when i studied abroad, ate their almost every weekend. You the man Mikey Chen! Thanks for bringing me back.

I love that midnight train to Georgia was playing in the background
That pork knuckle is HUGE! Bring some back for us pls!!
Can you please finish your ramen? You've been eating that for months.
Gertrude 😂😂😂
Yea, that bowl is endless. Eat some barbecue or something.

How about carp schnitzel? I really want to try it and I'm going to prague but I dont know where i can try it x
Nice video Mike! Im from Czech Republic, currently living in Portugal and you made me miss czech food so much right now! 😀 but you forgot to try the best one - Svíčková (beef, dumplings, vegetable sauce, cranberries and cream). Hope you try it next time 😊
That sounds brilliant, thanks for the tip!
Mike, congratz on being nominated. Well done, Sir.
Making me very sentimental as I lived in Prague for two years in 2003-2005 and I miss it terribly, as much as I love it where I am now. The traditional stuff is great, and they didnt have all the steak and burgers when I lived there. Good luck in Seattle!
Next week my parent and i are traverling to prague so thank for the guide Mike
Enjoy!
Have a great time!
Loving your background music with Ben! A little Aretha a little Badu. Good luck with everything!!!
The shop where you ate the bone marrow early in the morning, is called Nase Maso, which means Our Meat.
What about the cafetaria? 2nd place?
I would like to see a blogger not visiting that establishment. Too touristy and overpriced. The reason why the centre is not habitable for locals.
Gorgeous castle and cathedral, beautiful light through the stain glass.
So nice to see you spend some time catching up with Ben before you leave NY, it’s been such a long time since you last did a video with him and he’s been your friend all these years!!

With breadcrumbs? My aunt, with whom i lived way back in Prague added sour cheese. Whatever, the dumplings have colonised my memory.
The way you described the foods makes anybody who's watching your video hungry again.
*Pork knuckle and beer is a winning combination*
Would drink around 20 beer at one evening welcome to Germany haha
Only if the beer is alcoholic. Not what Mikey ordered.
@@deadzio Non Alcoholic Beer,is Worse than Diet,Soda.. It's Worse than Decaf Coffee..
Mikey, thanks for being such a good friend to me over the past years. We're really gonna miss you, buddy.
Happy Fathers Day

New York loves your channel !!!
Beautiful architecture.
Lately, I’ve been on a Mikey Chen and Mark Wiens video binge. Cool vids, man.
Talking about friendships, I still know MY best pal I’ve known since we were formerly in middle school. He’s a cool dude.

@@K-Rex589 you've been eating the wrong German food then. Sauerbraten is delicious when prepared correctly.
I was at the castle too. It’s best if you wait for the afternoon when all the soldiers do a march. The cathedral is a great sight too. Would recommend 100%
WOW!! Mike. You look GREAT in a suit!!
Ugggghhhhh!!!! This comes out as soon as I get back from Prague! Damn. I love seeing Mikey's vids before a trip
Cut up dumplings and fry in butter...lots of butter till crispy on the outside. And some eggs to the dumplings and scramble together ...heaven.
I LOVED Prosperity Dumpling when I went to NYU... I would walk to campus from my work study in the LES and would stop there to get dinner or a snack... So cheap! The Pacific Northwest is a nice spot for food. The flights to Asia will be shorter too. My family lives in Oregon, and we love it here. Welcome!
I agree, Oregon is very pretty, I'm in California. Why is Mike moving to Seattle?
He’s joining the antifa and going full out communist
Mikey have you ever gone to germany? Like deep Bavaria. I can recommend a beautiful town in upper Franconia. You would love it there
Dumplings from germanic areas are dough balls that are boiled. cheap, flour and water.
Part of my roots go there. My late maternal great grandmother was born in Prague. That food looks so good. Cheers!
Congratulations on your success Mike
I miss living in Prague (Praha 7), such an awesome city.
Mikey, thank you for getting some shots of the cathedral at the beginning of the film. It's absolutely gorgeous. (And the food is pretty amazing too!)
Mouthwatering to watch him eating. Love from India.
Your buddy wasn’t properly excited to eat noodles with you. I will bump him and join you with the enthusiasm that good Ramen deserves, 😂
This part of the world gets such a bad food rep overseas so Goulash was a pleasant eye-opener for me in Central Europe. (Prague and Budapest particularly). So flavourful. (Also the fried cheese in Prague!)

Your special, you want to go to the island. I loved the concept but had lots of ramifications. That was so cool to me that you referenced it.
In a way it showed the potential that stem cells could have for us and the idea of how much would we pay to replace any part of ourselves.
Best of Luck in Seattle, Headed back to the Midwest after living there a few years. Some recommendations

Mikey enjoys his meals to the fullest and reminds me of my nephew...

19:27 kid screaming would drive me crazy!
Dumpling look so good!
Cindy Meza I was waiting for a kid to cry after I heard the guy yell, “Sit Down!” Few seconds later, kid is back to climbing all over the place again.
Yeah, I saw that...I always taught my child that restaurants are not playgrounds and playgrounds are the place to have fun. I like the way Mikey kept eating never skipping a beat! 😂
Czech people feel for this video soo much 😩. The pork and the dumplings... all it’s missing is sauerkraut
wow! i'm so amazed!
i know right! ME TOO!
What an adventure!
The sauce at 09:46 is Chimichurri I think. So good! :P
That steak looks beautiful!
Those burgers and that bone marrow looked so savory and delicious ! So you're moving back to Seattle? You stay busy on the regular Mike.😉 Safe travels and take it easy, asap! Ha!
With the Schnitzel we traditionally eat potato (and/or cucumber) salad
How wonderful! You look great in a suit Mikey, that looked like a wonderful event and congratulations to you. I love that burger and bone marrow 😍 omg yum!
