I've never worked with paint and I'm really just starting out but your paintings are awesome
I love how you always put the character of everything first, rather than trying to copy them.
Like how you can always distil the character of the details instead of meticulously trying to copy a shape of a little highlight.
I've been aspiring to start oil painting for many years and I've just taken the plunge. As I'm 60, I've to be realistic about the level I'll be able to achieve, there's so much to learn and practice, but it's an exciting path being guided by such a wonderful artist like you.

Johan, I too started oil painting very late. You will be amazed at how much you can learn between 60 and 70. I'm painting everyday and improving steadily. Good luck to you.

I'm awestruck, not only by your talent but the easy, approachable way you explain your process. So looking forward to the upcoming series of videos on portrait painting. It`s a really good portrait, I especially like the light on her left cheek and that loosy brushwork. Im always trying not go to too rough with light, but recently I`ve been rethinking my approach. I really like how your portraits are vibrating with light and coloros. Great work, thanks for sharing those videos :)
