Lots of trout in Lewis lake. Good eating. Tin hat is one of my favourite spots on the SCT! The green rocket is a radio tower for the backcountry radio channels. Next time you are in Powell River you should check out Emma Lake.
Good to know! We'll be back in a few weeks to tackle the Powell Canoe route ! 🛶. Thank you for the info on the Greek rocket. I had a feeling it was something along those lines. Very cool. Cheers !
@@wayoftheroads awesome you will enjoy the route. Check in with Kristi at Mitchell’s canoe They are stewards for the route. My favourite lake is Windsor lake. Reach out anytime if you’re looking for an adventure in the region. It’s my hometown!
@@powellriverbccanada that sounds great we will definitely check in with her. Do they offer shuttles? As of now, our plan is to make it to the top of the "triangle" and then canoe back to Lois lake (skipping Powell lake all together). We really appreciate the insight. Cheers
That's my favorite part of the world so far! I did the SCT with my husky in 2018, then we came back on a bikepacking tour in 2019. Texada Island was really cool I wanna go back there. And Lund area is also amazing.
Great video! I loved the views😍 When you lose the audio you can still use the video. Just do voiceovers 😊 I believe the rockets you saw are radio towers. There are a number of them on mountain tops in B.C. I've never seen one in person, but I know there is one on Heather Mountain on the Island and plan on hiking to that one, once I'm fit enough to do the hike in a day trip 😄
@@wayoftheroads it's about a 23 kilometre day with an altitude gain of 1,139 metres. On All Trails they are saying from Victoria to the mountain, then the hike, and back to plan on 17 hours. I'm only at 12 km hikes with 400 metre altitude gains. I've got some more practicing to do and work my way up. I'll see if I can be in that kind of shape for next summer. Just means more hikes now to get ready😄 Then when I'm ready, I'll be filming that for sure. Hopefully, I'll be better at videos then and it'll look epic😁
I really love this episode (ofc also the other episodes)! The editing, the atmosphere, I can't wait to come back to Vancouver Island and BC. Hopefully I will move there from the Netherlands in the future!
Notice at the end of this video the accumulation of road dust on the rear bumper. Do you get dust entering your van around the back doors and the sliding passenger side door?
Hey Garth, surprisingly not much dust inside the van. If you get a bunch of dust building inside your van, you can buy the replacement rubber strips that line the doors on Amazon.

Wow what views. Neat to see this area being documented.
We thought so too, I noticed there wasn't a whole lot of Powell River vlogs, so we took the opportunity. Thanks again for watching!

That sounds incredible. Were looking into the Powell Canoe route. What a beautiful area of BC !

Such a good episode! We just got back from Powell River a couple of weeks back. Love it up there.
Thanks dude! Yes, we really enjoyed it. Now we're tempted to hike the entire SC trail 😅. Cheers to you guys !

Thank you for both your experience and the lead to Amazon's door replacement seal information.@@wayoftheroads
@@garthwheeler1338 glad to help!
No dogs are allowed to stay in the huts so you really didn't have a choice but to set up your tent.
Also, I love dogs but please keep them off the picnic tables for others to enjoy!!!
Good thing we had a tent then eh?
@@skibrat great tip. Thanks.
