As a kid in the '70s, this was my UA-cam. I had a few of the Power Records, but probably read along to the Frankenstein one dozens of times -- at least.
Always thought this depiction of the monster was the most frightening of all time. Huge, muscular, rock hard gray/dead-skin, cunning, brutal, and the red hair works too!
I had this record when I was a kid from the 70s. This wasn't the end of the monster by a long shot. He had his own Marvel comic book series. He fought Dracula and even teamed up with Spiderman. I've even seen him in a modern-day Avengers cartoon where he works with a team of other monster superheroes.
It's great to see this again. I had a few Power Records comics and records when I was kid. This is my all-time favorite. I listened to it frequently and loved it every time. What made me love it even more is that is very faithful to Mary Shelly's novel. Thank you very much for posting. I love it!
I had most of the Power Records collection back in the '70s, and the monster stories were among my very favorites. Now that I've rediscovered them on UA-cam, I enjoy listening to these at work. Thank you very, very much for uploading this!
I actually feel deeply sorry for the monster. All he wanted was to be accepted. But humanity feared him, and he hated his creator for bringing him to life in his condition. So the monster was understandably bitter.
Nice video - this fits almost exactly as a condensed version of Mary Shelley's novel - a few differences - we don't see the framing device of the ship and Frankenstein telling his story to the captain, but that has little impact - the largest omission is the bargain the monster makes w Frankenstein to make him a bride - that happens during their initial meeting, and Frankenstein almost completes this, but then changes his mind at the last minute and destroys her, triggering the Monster's further revenge - another change is that Frankenstein dies at the end, due to his exposure to the elements, and the Monster appears and weeps over him, and then departs w the intention of committing suicide by fire - really, the novel is about the consequences of poor parenting, and this video captures that
I remember me and my brothers went to k-mart 1977 she bought us a lot of records and it was this very record the moster of Frankenstein by power records we had superman star trek and more even from peter pan 38 years later my brother kept those records to make a long story short 2016 he got evicted out of his house and those evil bums threw all my mothers and my brothers things in the dumpster including those records!!!!!!!!
The narrator for these three records, was Peter Fernandez; the voice of Speed Racer.
He also voiced Spider-Man in Mark Of The Man-Wolf and The Human Torch in Fantastic Four: The Way It Began.
Also, Fernandez was the voice of Frank Drake in the Dracula Terror in the Snow edition.

Voices for this were PERFECT. Loved it as a child.
I had the record and the comic book! Great time to be a kid.
This record and the five-issue Marvel series it was taken from are still for my money the truest adaptation of the novel to date.

Exactly,
Imagine frankenstein in marvel 2099
Yes! ...this scared the daylights out me when I was 10 years old
This is very close to Mary Shelley's version in the novel
As a kid in the late 70’s listening to this I remember that sudden ending a bit chilling..still is to me
I had this one also when I was 9. Thank you for the memories

Life is made so much simpler when things are displayed in Black and White, and Good and Bad, and in Right and Wrong!
Thank you. This brought back a happy childhood memory for me.
Totally jammed this as a kid - it was at the library at my dad's school!
Thank you so much.
So many childhood memories come back.
ALL THESE OLD RECORDS (FRANKENSTEIN/BATMAN/SUPERMAN/INCREDIBLE HULK) SHOULD BE RELEASED ON CD OR SPOTIFY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

Thank you SO much for making this video!!
Glad you enjoyed.
Very good. Very faithful to Mary Shelley original novel. This and man thing night of the laughing dead were the best.
Beautiful artwork by Mike Ploog.
Best
Mike Ploog also drew Man-Thing and Werewolf By Night.
@@docsavage-8616 And Ghost Rider plus The Legion Of Monsters with Morbius - The Living Vampire.
Thanks for putting this out there. Had this as a child and listened to it many times. Kudos for putting the pages to follow along!
This Adaptation was actually very Faithful to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. A lot more than many of the Movies.
1972 Mike Ploog art. He only did the first six issues.Book limped along another 11-12 issues.enlarge screen to see how good the art is.

Oh the nostalgia!

I have this but on Book and Tape 😎

at Stan Lee narrating?
+Mark Drinkard I bet it's Peter Fernandez of "Speed Racer" fame.
+Anthony Wilson The narrator was indeed Peter Fernandez. :O)
The story is all wrong. He's supposed to grow as big a skyscraper and battle Godzilla.
