Great song. And I love the reference to Kintsugi. It's the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold. The cracks aren't hidden; they are embraced. I believe that it's a good way to live life as well: to embrace your flaws and make them into something beautiful.

Same thing here I’ve been listening to these guys since they dropped their first album and I love them that much I’ve gone and brought the box set to the greatest mistake of my life and I came across another band called caskets and I loved their music so much that I’ve bought one of their necklaces and It cost me £150 pounds and I don’t regret buying it

These guys just can’t put out a bad song. Came across this band in 2019 and been loving all their music ever since.
HOLY MOLY. This song gave me literal chills the whole time I was listening to it. Holding Absence is just built different. Incredible song writers and musical talent (Lucas is a standout). There's not a modern band today who's lyrics hit me like Holding Absence's do every time. Please don't ever change.
This is one of my favorite songs and when I was taking my drivers course for my license, I heard this song on the radio. And must I say, this types of songs are very rare in my country.
It shocking how great of a lyricist Lucas is. He has this ability to write emotionally vulnerable lyrics you can relate to

I hadn’t heard of this band until I went to see Pierce the Veil at Nottingham Arena. I don’t expect much from support bands usually, but I was absolutely blown away by these guys. They opened the evening and were totally amazing! They were followed by Dayseeker and if I’m totally honest they were both better the PTV. So much so that I have had both in rotation on my play list since, with The Noble Art Of Self Destruction my main go to. Hopefully these guys will tour with a headlining gig soon!
Both Holding Absence and Dayseeker are top tier bands!

The gold lines reminded me of Kintsugi, the Japanese pottery art of repairing pottery with gold. Not sure if that was the inspiration, but so cool regardless! Really liking the song too!

3:31 The songwriting is so good here. The climax comes right at the end, the way the chorus kicks in on the upbeat and just everything is so incredible like this is the shit that makes me fall in love with this band, was introduced to the band during the filming of 60cm of steel and have fallen completely into the deep end with all of the music, absolute iconic band.

It might be true but it isn’t helpful so just repeating myself to the lyrics that I’ll be alright even if it’s a lie is helpful. Goes against the meaning of the song but fuck it, better to lie myself into being happy than being true and wallowing in misery
