This is super helpful. Thanks for doing. “Angry vacuum” is the right way to describe the stock set up!
Great video, thank you! I just bought a 992 C2S with the M-Eng stage 1 tune, and now have the fever to mod further.
They're a great platform, we're happy to help if you have any questions!
Thanks for putting this video together. I don’t believe US cars have the opf like our market. Finding a turbo back catted setup that will include some kind of electronic opf bypass is tricky - only found capristo but not sure exactly how they do it
Simply added the 200-cell sport cat to my 992 GTS and what an audible improvement!
did you need to remap the car after putting the sport cats on? what sport cats did you go with and have you any clips of this? thanks
Does a cat upgrade void any warranties?
@@raisedneat My local Porsche dealer did the install and simply said to keep the old ones when its time to re smog, otherwise good to go!
@@EMC9 No clips just yet, still need to do that. Went with Fabspeed no remap necessary, nothing thrown off, so much better of driving experience!
have you thrown any check engine lights yet ?
would you recomend doing Catless link pipes with stock pse?
If i cat delete and keep stoxk muffler will it improve power and sound a litrle better .with the tune and i love the burrbles dont want them gone thank you
Is there not an opf in that section too?
Can you use the factory sport exhaust tips with the full Akrapovic system?
Yes, this is possible.
Great video. Can you make a video explaining what makes the GTS sounding better than the Carrera S and give some guide about which of the exhausts from your link give a better sport note?
Removing inside noise dampening pads improve the sport sound?
We are currently working on a better guide for the 992. From least amount of drone to full race car. Stay tuned!
Can you install Akrapovic exhaust for me if I have the quad pipes on my 4S?
It requires a little fabrication or you can change the rear valance to the PSE version. We have the PN on our website.
Hi.. did you remap when you installed slip on and linkpipes from akra?
It is not necessary but a lot of potential with tuning to make more power!
@@Flat6Motorsports thank you for fast respond.. i dont want to tuning since its gonna void my warranty, but i want to change the linkpipe 😊😊
@@kipix it’s possible the link pipes will create an efficiency fault, just FYI
@@Flat6Motorsportsi see, but i saw anonther brand such as jcr or fabspeed, they put their statement as long as non opv doesnt require to tune the car, except akrapovic it said mandatory to tune the car.
Is there any drone with Akrapovic on normal highway driving? I take long trips and had bad experience with droning
We'll have a full review coming in a month or two when we get some free time. We'll be doing a big series on a bunch of different exhausts with "living with it" impressions. From our testing, I don't recall any but I'll be putting the Akrapovic on my 992 Carrera for a few weeks to provide greater insight. Thanks, -Jon
@@Flat6Motorsports Hi , Just wanted to check out if thew review is available . Is there droning with akrapovic on the daily drive. thanks
@@plb06 we have recorded 4 and will do the 5th this week. We plan to release in the next week!
Akrapovic is the best exhaust you can get, period.
For throat yes but not tone.
Word to the wise be careful with IPE and IPE exhausts they do not honor warranty issues and routinely deny claims when you have problems. They are misleading in telling consumers that if there is a problem with one of their exhausts systems, they will replace them. This is not true on any level and even when two reputable companies, Wheels Boutique and Champion Motor Sports, told them their titanium exhaust installed on my car was defective...and sent them video's, they still refuse to take responsibility and replace the damaged/defective system. This is a very poor business model and they do not protect consumers. IPE also does not return phone calls or emails and takes weeks and weeks to not address your problem.
Not gonna pass CARB
As long as you have cats, it passes smog. I’ve been renovating resonators and adding a 1.25” bypass pipe from the tow pipe to the tips on all my previous Porsche’s. It’s the only thing I’ll ever do gone are the days of spending $300-$8000 on exhausts. The only exhaust I would ever consider paying for is a Soul Performance. They do a lot of work getting a good tone placing growl and depth second to tone unlike most of the brand names like akro or fabspeed.
