I say the only reason The Island and Seabound weren’t better intros was due to Kirby Morrow’s death after the filming of MotM and Ninjago was just going through a rocky point because they didn’t have anyone to replace or fill in for Cole’s voice actor at the time.
there is no foreshadowing of lloyd's possession since after season 4, they started to show the intro in the second episode, to avoid spoilers, they never showed season 5 intro in episode 1 but in episode 2 when we all knew he got possessed.
I love love love the oni trilogy for its plot visuals music and characters absolutely everything including the intros (my fav ones are hunted and sog not that march if the oni one is bad but i just love the animation style and vibe of the previous ones) tho i also love weekeend whip intros sm 🔥 the only time i could skip the intro is seasons 11, 13 and 14

Love the music in the island, and possession is easily number one, whole season is perfect theming for a show to watch during late October (the best themed game was Lugis mansion 2 for the game version of best Halloween theme). Number 3 or 2 is the season 2 introduction, when Lloyd Garmadon turns into older Lloyd Garmadon and we get that beautiful fancy intro, and when his character starts being taken seriously now that there isn't a recently mature but still whiny child with them.

One thing I noticed in the hunted theme is ultra violet actually has the red mask and I think it was originally Mr E but then after garmadon killed him it switched to ultra violet
Hot take, I think seabound intro is top 5, I like the music, I think they did good on the 2d visuals, and since the oni trilogy, if there isn’t a weekend whip in the intro, that usually means the season is going to have an insane ending.
I put seasons 8-10 and the other ones without the Weekend Whip or any lyrics in last place from worst to best respectively just because they aren’t the ones you would intentionally listen to other than to watch the show
