These are gorgeous Mary! I’ve been playing with this film in jewelry, never thought to add to coasters! Thanks for showing where the hidden characters were, I could see Dory but totally missed the others
Wow, Mary! These came out spectacular, and love that the holder matches! Me, I would have left the black edges to match the holder. I would never have found the hidden characters in your tray, lol, but 8+ lbs!
Oh, wow! They are all so gorgeous! It’s hard to pick a fave. Glad I don’t have to. 😊. The holder was designed wonderfully with those little pieces. What a nice set! I loved your underwater piece, too. Beautiful! Is it a table top? ❤❤❤
Omgsh. That was a challenging project. But you really pivoted and created beautiful items. It was ingenious to put the film in the holder. It really makes it unique. Painting the edges of the coasters was perfect.
The coasters are pretty cool. I wish you would've shown you painting the powder on the coaster so we could see maybe why it didn't work for you. I've seen it done and done it myself and the powder didn't do what you said yours did with floating in the resin. Maybe try it again next time you're doing something that has an edge you'll want colored. I just can't see why it didn't work for you. 😥 Your choices for edging them after unmolding were great tho!
Thank you. The reason I cut that part from the video wasn't because I didn't want to show it, its because in the end this video was and 1:45 min long, so in editing, which takes forever, I have to decide what is the most important parts of the video that will keep everyone watching, and brushing on powder and cleaning up didn't seem all that exciting. Its always hard to determine from one video to the next what everyone wants to see and doesn't. If that makes sense? I will try this product again in another video for sure.🥰🤗😊
Mary, I loved these coasters. They came out beautiful. I personally liked the black edges but the metallic looked lovely too. Great idea on using the scraps in the holder. Waste not, want not and all that lol. Great job! Just a quick question because I got worried, in the video it seemed like twice you set your heat gun down, but it was still going for a bit while you talked, was it that or a fan or something? I was really worried because a heat gun can melt metal and catch wood on fire. Please be extra careful. 🥰💖
Thank you Niki🥰 You were hearing my fan running. I was working on a glass cutting board, but I didn't leave it running when I put it down, but thank you, its a great reminder though.🤗😊
Hi Neal, welcome😊 I believe your referring to the alcohol. We use 91% or above to spray our molds before we pour in our resin and sometimes after we pour our resin, and why we do this is because alcohol helps prevent/pop bubbles that occur. The only time I don't mist with alcohol is when Im doming(top coating) a piece, and that's because alcohol will break the surface tension and cause the resin to run over the edge. Does that help answer your question Neal? Please let me know if you have any other questions I can help you with.🤗😊

Very stunning Mary!!!
May I ask where you got the finger cots for working with the heat gun?
Julia, I got mine from Hobby Lobby, they are Hodge Podge brand. Amazon also sells them, but a bit more expensive. I love them.
Thank you Julia🥰🤗😊
Hi I’m just getting into resin craft, why do you spray and what is it you’re spraying ?
