Solo Van Life Day 783: How I Spend My Time With My Van

A Chinese girl's van life story that's not just interesting and adventurous, but also busy and inspiring. I built my van by myself two years ago and have crossed the U.S. twice.
A month ago, I decided to settle down in San Diego and found a job I love. Although it doesn't pay much, I'm very content with my life right now. After all, the cost of living in a van is incredibly low. I chose to work part-time at a very well-known dive shop, working just 2-3 days a week, and spending the rest of the time on myself. I paint, surf, dive, and try to meet like-minded friends through my hobbies.
I think I made a wise choice!
Today is my 783rd day living in a van. It's also my first time back to San Onofre State Beach after the heavy rain washed everything away. The day before, I caught some sunset waves, which were stunning. This morning, I took a quick cold shower (since it was cloudy and there wasn't enough solar power to heat the water), then made brunch, and fixed my surfboard because the big waves had washed off the epoxy from a previous repair. I also installed a hidden hook on my fridge cabinet. After that, I edited this video while watching the sunset.
After finishing the video, I went to the nearest 24-hour gym to take a hot shower and even used the sauna. But the next morning, I found a notice on my window: no overnight parking.
This is pure discrimination against van life. Why can't we park for extended periods at a place that's open 24/7? And why was it only the vans that got the notice? I'm a bit disappointed with this area. For the past three years, I've been coming here to shower and rest after surfing, then heading back to the beach to catch more waves.
