My people, how are you guys doing? I shot this video late May and I've experienced more Shock but ill do an updated one later. Watch this one first.😁😁 Don't forget to like, share and Subscribe as always. Love you guys.❤❤
I love watching your vids .. I was born and raised in Canada so its super interesting to me the things I dont give a second thought to that other people find shocking and different 🙂🧡
Awww thanks for the compliment Twyla. Yeah, so many shocking things. At the moment, I'm experiencing some more.😂 Thanks for watching my videos. I really appreciate.🤗🤗
Hello and thank you for your video. I am born and raised Canadian and just wanted to suggest that your experiences with your neighbours and the loneliness you are feeling might be exacerbated by the pandemic. I know my daughter was in her first year of University last year and she did not have any neighbours because of the pandemic. Hopefully when things return to normal you can find some more friendly neighbours. We tend to be reasonably friendly people here.
10:03 I smilled when I heard you talk about the temperature in summer in Saskatchewan. 32 degrees for us in UAE (Dubai) is absolutely great. It even gets to 50 degrees at its peak in September. Its becomes scorchingly hot for movements outside.
Hahhaha. I talk to at least 100 people a day. So, you can imagine how I have to switch my accent for them to understand. Na im cause am o. But asides that, no accent change anywhere o. 🤣🤣😂😂 Thanks for watching my videos to allow me give weekly contents.🥳🥳💃🏻💃🏻
Thanks for this. It is interesting to see how new residents see Canada and the people here. Some thoughts: 1) people living in apartments tend to keep to themselves here, maybe for privacy?2) I will try to be friendlier to new residents 3) on meeting new people, maybe you could join a club or two... our daughter joined the International Students association or club when she did her masters in a US university and met many good friends who she still corresponds with today,
Hi Yemisi, great video!!!! Could you also do a video on how to dress to grad school? How learning and studying is? Assignments, balancing school with work and life et al. Hearing a lot about how difficult grad school and education in general is a bit different and difficult.
Hi Bolu, I've not started in person classes yet. But I'll say that there is no special outfit for grad school. You have the liberty to wear anything you want. And it's true that balancing school and work life is stressful. The education system is different so it takes a gradual process to settle in too but we can adjust. I'll make a detailed video once I start experiencing in person class. Right now, I'm on break so it's not affecting my work.
I can’t agree that if I don’t give tips it’s considered rude because not everyone who goes to restaurants or a taxi means that he is wealthy and can give 20% of the total bill
i think it really depends on where you live Canada it is so big and every province is different and even in the same province it can be different in different sized towns and cities
Thats very correct Marty. I was speaking from my experience and also people that have been here in a while though but I do agree that it could differ based on personality and area.
Fresh food at grocery store is not taxed. So anything you buy that you have to cook at home has no tax. But say you but food already cooked even some frozen food (frozen pizza) that is taxed.
I'm on the Canadian East coast (New Brunswick) and sometimes it gets so cold in Feburary they close the schools for the day. Anything colder than -42C (with the wind chill) let me tell you it's BONE CHILLING cold. 😂 better not cry outside because it WILL freeze on your face
Welcome to Canada 🇨🇦. You must be in a larger city, because I know all my neighbours. We do BBQ 's and potluck parties and watch each other's children. I'm in London Ontario. ❤
In my last apartment in Montréal, for a whole year, I had no idea if my neighbor was a male or a female. I just knew I usually hear incoherent voice coming from that room. 😂
Just so you know ChukwuDumebi, it's been snowing so much in Calgary since last week. Saskatoon has been experiencing just snow showers.🤪🤪 Not to scare you dear, we go survive.
Hi Yemisi!💕 The one about polite smile🤣heh I've experienced it!!! I was on a zoom video call and everyone is just smiling 😂to a point I was asking myself if they are even understanding what I'm saying. Eventually it's my professor who spoke up and told me he didn't understand what I said and could I please repeat
@@MsYemisi Also, I don't know if it's just me who has noticed, but they share too much. Like, I was once talking to my prof about a random topic and in between she just told me that her husband walks with shorts in winter... That was such a shock to me😂 In Africa that would've made the whole class cringe.
🤣🤣 those will definitely be talked about in my updated culture shock. It's part of the points. They don't see it as anything. Very free spirited people.
@@MsYemisi Exactly!😂 I was in shock. But it's been really interesting because it's easy to talk and open up about your struggles with your professors and even fellow students! I'm getting all this culture shocks from online study 🤣when I get there I know the shock will kick me to the moon and back
Hi Yemisi, thanks for the video. I heard that if you get a job offer in Canada, you don't need to present POF, how true is that. Can you do a video about it please. Thanks
