- PLEASE FORGIVE THE ERRATIC CAMERA WORK. He hadn't seen the musical before filming so he wasn't always sure where the action would be. I think he did great considering.

It's so interesting that in the original production, Veronica was crying during this number near the corner of the stage and JD was holding and comforting her. But in THIS version, JD is grabbing her aggressively and demanding something, probably making sure there wasn't an actual "sword fight in her mouth."
I know it's obvious and I'm not the only one who noticed, but I just think it's cool
A JD that gets cheated on is not a JD I want to meet.

I didn't expect his voice to sound like that, I'm thoroughly surprised
JD and Veronica have amazing chemistry in this production. The way they stare at each other like there's nothing else in the world but them. And Veronica especially has some great face journeys, especially at the end when she realizes that Heather's death wasn't a fluke; this boy that she's hopelessly in love with is a murderer. And it's terrifying, but she's in too deep and maybe maybe MAYBE she can help him. You can see in her face how much she NEEDS to believe that things will be okay. Wonderful work on the part of the actress and the director.
Okay but can we take a moment to appreciate the leg lift from Kurt and Ram because that was beautiful

Fun fact: 'Ich luge' translates to 'I'm lying' in German. So, JD was literally telling Veronica that he was lying about the bullets.

I like how in original version, when they are singing Blue Reprise, JD immiadetely comforts Veronica, but in this version he wants an explanation, and is mad beacuse he thinks that she really did that.
It's more realistic to me, that he is mad, It adds some depth to his character.
Everything about this production is amazing--I've been showing it to my boyfriend as "the one with good choreography" and in response he started yelling "that set is incredible"--and now every other cast sounds a bit wrong to me...
I really like this JD.
to me, he looks and sounds a bit to old. But his acting and SINGING! Holy shit, it is gret!

David C. Jones Aww that's too bad! Thank you for posting the ones you have! I've seen a few different iterations of this musical and I have to say what I've seen of this one really blows me away. Just some really compelling choices made that make this version really stand out! Wish I could've seen it live!
