Your video saved from having to completely redo my flap setup on my CARF Joker! Thank you!!!

Thanks Harry, I couldn't get full deflection on my Boomerang Sprint and this worked perfectly!

Harry, you have truly saved my sanity with these videos. These radios are so complex that figuring out stuff is really tedious. until now.
Now that I have watched a number of them I'm getting the language down and the way they do things is starting to gel.
Once again, thank you for these
    Scott

Thanks for your comment Scott, I have had a lot of feedback from my videos and been surprised by how many people have been in need of this kind of training

Absolutely wonderful. I can attest...this works so nice. You should have seen the absolute butter landing on a maiden (30cc Seagull Perestroika) because I was able to dial in perfect elevator trim with flaps. I have 2 things to keep in mind:
    1. TRY (this isn't always possible) your best to find out from others if that model tends to pitch up or down with flaps. (as Harry talks about in this video) So you're prepared.
    2. Do you absolute best to get a good CG on maiden. Be cognizant on what you trim for normal flight...because you might need to add additional trim in the same direction with flaps...just be prepared and make a decision real quick if you should land and maybe dial in CG a bit better before trimming with flaps. 2nd flight you can just add the normal flight mode ele trim to the flap modes as a good starting point.
Bottom line...this works great...just pay attention to what's happening and you'll save a ton a time.
    Thanks again, Harry!

    Hi Harry,
Just watched this video following your advice on FB. Your videos are so easy to follow and very informative. Thank you

Hi Harry. It's me again. I actually got my first Jeti radio today so now I'll really be a pain! (DS-16). So my first programming effort is an Odyssey jet that I'm just finishing up building. Of course, I'll be trying the Jeti system out on some foamies before the jet maiden. So the reason I'm posting my comment here is because it's about flaps. I must say that as a beginner, I don't think Jeti has done a great job with the Butterfly/Flaps function. As you have pointed out, to use it properly you have to use flight modes based on the flap position. Well, I use flight modes for different purposes such as controlling throws, landing gear, gyro modes, etc. So without going into how I use flight modes in detail (because nobody cares), I essentially used your "simple" method of putting the flaps on a 3 position switch and controlling the amount of flaps with a function curve, I actually really like this. The only issue is that now I have to do my own elevator compensation (and crow). This is where I think I have developed an over-complicated solution and would like your advise:
I created 2 free mixes, elevator --> elevator. I need 2 because the amount of compensation is different for the 2 flap settings. In each mix, I select the flap switch position I'm programming for and give it a master value. Then I create a function curve with a constant value. So I can change the amount of compensation by altering either the master value or the constant value in the curve. There must be a more elegant way!
If the Butterfly/Flap system could work on a simple switch instead of flight modes, all would be simple. But alas, it doesn't. Best regards.

Ok, ok. I realized after sending my last comment that I could use 1 mix with a 3 point curve. I’m much happier now. Lol

Hey Harry, thanks for your videos, you really master the Jeti programming and you're willing to share...
Watching this video in particular, I wonder if in the same Butterfly/Flaps menu I can add camber to launch, and reflex to speed mode or a little of camber on thermal mode.
    Regards.
    Ricardo

Hello Ricardo, you can use the Butterfly/Flaps menu, or you can use Flight Mode Trim. It depends if you need to reserve the Butterfly/Flaps for other uses

@@cotswoldpilot I think you're right, it'd be better on Flight Model Trim. My Jeti arrive to my hands just a week ago and I'm devouring your channel!! Thank you very much!

    Hi Harry.
Just noticed that when i go to buttrefly flaps screen and change the control to Max, the next screen, select input control has a 0% value, on all the switch posistions, thats the only thing different to yours.
how do i change that as i assume it should be 100% as in the video.
    Cheers

It needs to be 100%. It defaults to 100%. At some point you have pressed the Reverse button and made it 0%

Makes no real difference, except do not use a different elevator trim and Heading mode together.

@@cotswoldpilot It works perfect ... first i trimmed the model in each flightmode and then i activated my ASSIST ... ready ... works PERFECT , many thx Harry.

Hi Harry, as a new Jeti user i am finding your videos a great help but i am struggling with flaps by flight modes, i have followed this video but when i get to the aileron \ flap adjust page the flap servos dont move, i have re done this several times and followed the video to the letter so i dont know why its not working, help.

@@stephenwhite1580 whenever people tell me that they followed my video but it doesn't work, it has ALWAYS transpired that they did not. They skip a step without realising it, or add in something thst isn't in the video because they think they should.

@@cotswoldpilot yep ok understand that, I have tried several times to set this up but cant seem to get there.
With the flap switch disabled as described in the video, I get no movment when I get to flap adjustment screen.
How dos the transmitter know to operate the flaps set up on the switch which is now disabled .
      Thanks

You have missed one or more steps, you are clearly not not doing what the video shows. Your question suggests you have not understood it. There is no switch, it is the flight mode that does the change. Have you created flight modes, have you changed the butterfly menu from G to S.
