The way it describes her hair being cut in the book it chin length. I would have liked to seen it that length on tris cause i dont like her short hair all that much. Just might have changed her appearance a bit x
The actress had to cut her hair short for another role she was playing anyways. I personally think she looks good. Plus, it's less of a danger having short hair.
