Actually this movie reminds me of the classic sci fi themes which I'm a fan of so its win win for me, and Tom always adds a darker element to each character he plays which is better than the usual likable or comedic type. Edge of Tomorrow, War of the Worlds, Minority Report, call me crazy but I think Tom is the Sci-Fi king and he should do more of these.

I cannot for the life of me think why this movie didn't do better except that audiences are so programmed now for the BIG special effects, action sequences all throughout, etc. This movie even at only 2 hours is what some could call epic. It has a phenomenal soundtrack and the visuals are stunning in every way. Instead of using CGI to make the environment, they used the natural environment with CGI to help complement it. I am not a huge fan of Tom Cruise but he did an excellent job here and why has no one heard of Andrea Riseborough before? She held her own in this film as Victoria. I think as time goes on and more and more people see this it will spread on its own to become a cult classic if nothing else. I noticed that it might not have done as well as hoped at the box office, but when it came out on Blue Ray it was #1. That says something. I think we have gotten too used to big flashy action pictures that are non stop and mindless and when something like this film came along, that made us THINK, most people didn't bother with it. It's a shame because this film is one of those that comes along every so often that just gets to you in a weird way. The more you see it, the more stunning it becomes.

This film was peak aethstic, both cinematography and sountrack-wise. The plot is run-of-the-mill sci-fi which dented its intial perception, but the fact that I am still revisiting this video almost 10 years after its release should be a testament to how much imprint it left upon a lot of people.

This movie is amazing. A huge masterpiece. I was only able to appreciate this movie on second viewing after watching the deleted scenes (eg with the medkit) and while taking notes. Even during the opening monologue alone, they gave us a vital part of the storyline, not some throwaway exposition background which I interpreted as such in my first viewing. There are so many beautiful shots in this movie too, with great contrasting undertones. Joseph Kransinki is a phenomenal director and I look forward to him directing Top Gun: Maverick.

I watched this film on a whim on Netflix, and even after they stupidly gave away half the plot with their idiotic autoplay preview, was absolutely blown away by it. And then the credits roll and this absolute masterpiece drops and ups it to 110%. I think about it almost every day.

The post-apocalyptic theme in this movie was more scary than you think- that the alien species will use one or two of our kind in this case to turn against ourselves. The mission to titan was to source for resources for humankind but it turned against us. Despite that the beauty of the film also shows the level of sub consciousness humans express in the case between Harper and Vika. They have been cloned to be together but yet deep in Harper's mind, he knew he was missing something terribly and Vika was not the one he loved and it even got transferred to the clone.

This movie was fantastic. And then it ends on that great scene and this fantastic song. I'm a huge fan of M83 - so it's great to see them given this opportunity to reach a wider audience with their majestic sound.

people hate on the movie so damn much, i thought it was great scifi.
+Nickk888SAMP Many people can't see the depth of this movie including my friend who got confused throughout the screening and I had to explain it to her. The post-apocalyptic theme in this movie was more scary than you think- that the alien species will use one or two of our kind in this case to turn against ourselves. The mission to titan was to source for resources for humankind but it turned against us. Despite that the beauty of the film also shows the level of sub consciousness humans express in the case between Harper and Vika. They have been cloned to be together but yet deep in Harper's mind, he knew he was missing something terribly and Vika was not the one he loved and it even got transferred to the clone.

+Nickk888SAMP - definitely one of the most underrated films. It was a fantastic movie. I think many people didn't like it because it could be confusing if you only casually watched it like a typical action movie, which it isn't. It's a thinking movie, you have to follow it. But if you do, you are rewarded with one of the most astonishing stories - very thought provoking, hauntingly so. I thought about this movie for weeks after seeing it. It is not only an awesome science fiction story, but an awesome love story. In fact it is very unusual in that the love story is at the core of the science fiction. You gotta see it if you haven't. Definitely my favorite Tom Cruise movie. And the theme, that is hinted throughout and then played in full with lyrics at the end is super emotional when you listen to the words that match the story - so sad and eery, hauntingly beautiful."...breath in the light.... and say goodbye." Still gives me chills.

Além , de ser um filme muito bom tem uma trilha sonora muito bonita, me lembrou as trilhas sonoras dos anos 80 , de novo o tom Cruise acertou parabéns pelo filme.
It's one of the greatest things ever. When you're watching a movie or show and a song starts playing that's so good, you have to find it right away. The songs that are so good, they give you goosebumps.
This movie was fantastic. And then it ends on that great scene and this fantastic song. I'm a huge fan of M83 - so it's great to see them given this opportunity to reach a wider audience with their majestic sound.

One of the best Sci-Fi film's ever made. Don't care what anyone says. The flawless soundtrack is the icing on the cake.
@eating sugar no papa Same! I remember when it first came out and I was shocked that most people just didn't like it/Get it. I must admit though, Sci-Fi is one of my favourite genres, along with Horror and Fantasy. 👍
