I went to TOTP in the audience for this show , the show took almost 3 hours to film for 30 mins as the artists performed the song more than once so the best would be picked
Thats pretty standard for something to take that long to film. Was an extra for A Normal Heart. Literally took 12 hours to film one scene that only lasted not even a full minute on screen with most of it being scrapped.
Cool! I was in the audience as well for this edition when Madonna was just 37. How time flies. I think if my memory serves me right. Started with a Pre Record of Oasis -Wonderwall before filming essentialy all of the Friday Nigtt show. Echobelly-King of the Kerb was Brilliant, Bryan Adams & Bonnie Raitt in studio among others. One of her most beautiful and touching ballads plus her vocals sound amazing. I wish this song was more popular worldwide. In my country (Ukraine) it was a HUGE superhit and even nowadays you can hear it on the radio but it's not that big worldwide

I love this song too when it came out in the mid 90's. I used to listen to this song a lot while I was driving in my car. I think the reason why this song was not big worldwide was because Madonna's controversial and provocative image because of her Sex Book in the early 90's over shadowed her good songs during this time. People paid attention to Madonna's image more than her music during this period of time.

I was in the Studio Audience for this Superb Performance by Madonna at BBC Elstree in. November 1995. Most of the artists performances are filmed twice for camera angles as rehearsals are without a studio audience, it's enevitable that some camera shots may be obstructed by an audience member in wrong place or their hand going up to applaud and obscuring a camera. So I think they film twice to cut in the best camera shots of both performances. I didn't realise they broadcast both!

Que bueno la version comparativa, ahora me entero que hay 2 versiones, ( !porque no lo se todo! aunque sepa bastante.)
Definitivamente a Madonna le falta algo cuando hace playbacks. Ya se, que las performances Top Of The Pops son en playback, pero cualquier actuacion con voz en vivo es mas valiosa para muchos fans, aunque tenga momentos que parezca un gato que le pisan la cola, Ausumimos los fallos gustosamente por un Live 'real'.
Bueno decir que en la version 2 me gusta mas, esta mas richarachera y no tan tragica, y que Madonna cambia mucho de looks, pero que GUAPA estaba, tan sencilla y sin tanto artilugio colgando, como ahora, que parece que tiene diogenes, menos es mas.
Madonna often hates her ballads. The competition was occasionally strong in the 90's so she had to do them. They were a reply to the Celine Dions of the world. The Janet Jacksons she could always handle. Some songs are more often chosen for the tours; She wants to dance, dance, dance, dance! And go deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper!

@@lepetitchat123 I didn’t say the topic was childish but the choice of words is overly simplistic. “You think that you are strong but you are weak” “it will be mine, no one can take from me” she once joked about it herself, the meaning is clear but it’s like it was written by a very young kid.
You’re So Vain or I’m Still Standing are far more elaborate on a similar topic. Madonna has far far better lyrics with songs like Frozen, Like a Prayer or even simple but perfect Holiday and many more. This one is really forgettable although it has a strong dramatic melody. It was just a mood-board to get her into Evita and promote her Something To Remember collection which at the time was still post Erotica damage control which Bedtime Story had failed to achieve….Ray of Light brought her back into her A game later…endless topics…love Madonna.
