I may have to randomly tossed them into the soil of my bird of paradise and monstera and they've rooted 🤣 I guess that's one way to get a fuller looking bottom 😬
I love when my jades are babies, they're so cute. I have around 20 new jades growing in a tupperware of cactus mix. I find that once you let them callous, they actually enjoy their soil kept pretty moist until they establish roots & start plumping out their leaves, especially my gollums. Don't be afraid to water Jade plants, you can super soak them when it's time to water, especially in their growing season. The best time to water mature plants is when the soil is completely dry & the leaves look a bit puckered.
but if you do give it water, you’re not depleting the plant of it’s stored up water (energy). if you give it water, moisture also helps to encourage roots. you just don’t wanna flood it every other day. water it when it’s dry after the first 2 weeks. before that, just give it some water near the stem.
@@kiranmahilange9 respectfully, i disagree. i’ve propped thousands of leaves and stem cuttings. i mean, if you have them un the right conditions - meaning correct amount of soil - meaning not too much - and light and temperature, humidity, watering fully works perfectly fine. you just can’t do it too much, of course. i usually put props that don’t have roots, or have very little roots, in 2” pots or they’re in a tray (it’s a takeout container). that being said, i tell beginners to just do the very top layer of soil because i’m gonna assume their conditions aren’t all correct and the props can’t handle that much moisture. but it’s absolutely doable. i don’t want to use up stored water in the prop.
@@MUM2RKG I have mine sitting on top of soil (on a saucer) and they’re rooting nicely. I’m just having trouble figuring out when to move my propagated leaves to full soil? I don’t want them to die or rot because of lack of care
@@kararosee47how big are they? i mean, i move mine to 2” pots when i need more room out of my tray. but i also have waited until they’re big enough to go into 3-4” pots.
Hey there! Your jade plants look amazing! Can you please share what type of soil you use for them? I've been struggling with mine and could use some tips. Thanks in advance!
I want a Jade plant so bad! I had one and it died on me I think I was over watering it. I see all of the big beautiful Jade plants and I can keep one alive! 💚🪴
I've got a little tetra cotta drip tray full of dirt and what I believe to be a !CRESTED/MONSTROSE! Gollum ear leafe and a regular jadelet song with a burro's tail leaf that did the same thing it pushed out like 20 pinhead sized burro leaves
I found this out purely by accident. I was watering one day and found a squirrel (🤬) had been through my pot and had broken off a few leaves. I put them aside in a pot that I had just transferred another plant from - I didn’t have the heart to toss them out just yet. Shortly after that, I discovered them sitting in a corner and sure enough, they had rooted and sprouted new growth, much to my delight!
I’m not a plant expert but I believe the colors of the leaves are determined by the amount of light. More light and your plant turns light green and sometimes red at the edges and less light makes them a darker green. Mine is light green at the moment because it’s by a window but when I bring it further inside it gets darker.
late but yeah toast9093 is right, I have a jade on my window and its a pale green. I water it bi-weekly so its not dehydration. Just gets alot of light. As long as the leaves have some plumpness to them its fine
Hey Jeff! Quick question for you, is it normal that some of the leaves on my jade plant is corking? The leaves are firm and don’t seem to have any pests, but there’s a brown layer on top which looks like corking. Doesn’t look like your plant have that so I’m not sure what it is.
I have so many little babies growing, but I can’t help but wonder how long does a baby take to look more like the parent plant? I have some from a year ago that are still super tiny.
I'm Definitely Not an expert, but mine sounds the same as yours, and I think it's because I'd moved it into a shady area in my house, it seemed much stronger and thicker when it was in a much sunnier room, so I've put it back there now !
Oh no, i just saved some tiny stems from the my big Jade that had rot and i gave them a little water after putting them in soil… will they rot now?😢 do i habe to repot them?
I wouldn't bother propagating a leaf. Even though you can, it takes forever to grow into a decent plant. Much quicker to use a mature branch, about an inch thick.
I have mine outside I live in california and they propagate like crazy all the time end up with 3 nice already and i have some other in pots growing .I love when they bloom little with flowers

You can water but if there are no roots to use up the water then you run the risk of rot.... especially if it's a stem
Lightly spraying the top soil is enough. Trust me watering is bad bad....

Dwarf jade might be better for you. They can tolerate water a bit better.
Can you also show a video how to prune these young propagated plants the first time?
Don’t until they have a branch with 2-3 nodes
V nice

I just let my jade plant grow crazy long. I didn't know u could make it into a tree. How long does it take to get a nice large truck like that?
This one is 6 years old I believe....
OOooo love the talavera
They are so lovely. Do you have any?
“Thick juicy leaves” I thought you were gonna say something else😭💀💀 I’m way to dirty-minded
😂
Do you need a rooting agent for better growth?
No.... I've never really seen any difference
How did you get the main plant that big!? Mine seemed to stop growing and is staying at a few inches tall
Just tons of light! Mines in a south window
My daughter was given a bonsai jade but the leaves are pale green.what can we do to help them become darker?

I have searched for this in the past and I cannot find any information...other than watering issues. Wish I could help more
It can be caused by too much sunlight

If you're starting from a leaf, it'll take years.. but it is satisfying knowing you can grow a new plant from a single leaf
@@EverythingPlants thanks for taking the time to answer!
I have been watering propagated Jade pla from the beginning 😋 😩 😍
Nice!
I could never throw live plants out...there are 2 kinds of old maids. A cat lady...and a plant lady hehe
I know....I usually give them away
Why is my jade growing but having yellow leaves here and there and the leaves are not as thick and shiny as i see here?

Thanks! Me too....its truly a work table lol

Don't repot just let them dry out
@@EverythingPlants will do, thank you so much!
Oh too late, I watered mine 😮 hope it will be ok 😢
I never have luck with soil propagation with this jade. Water works this best for me. I wonder what I’m doing wrong…😢

So it’s like a succulent….tree?
Yup
