You nailed it on the Honda CB500T. I owned one; it was a vibration master. Girls loved to get rides, and I suspect there were a few orgasms included with the "joy" rides. The biggest issue with the bike was the starter chain guide. It would eat through the guide, break apart, and jam the stator. I replaced the charging system several times; it was a real piece of junk.

I agree with most of your choices but there are some (that I have ridden) that I would like back :-) TM400 the Z1 900 and the Mach triples - 500/750 🙂

Why would you compare vintage motorcycles to modern bikes? Apples and Oranges.

Even though AMF Harleys had issues new. If it hadn't been for AMF, Harley would not have survived.

Maybe so, but I never bought another one. See my comment above.

@tombaldwin9313 know the local dealer would completely disassemble them before putting them on the showroom floor. He even found stuff like gears with only enough teeth cut for them to fit together. They screwed the employees so bad they would sabotage them.

You know, you don't actually need a computer to fix pretty much any of the bikes in this 'vid'.

Saying things like "those old school numbers don't hold up anymore" Really?, of course they don't, it's called progress, taking a bike from the 70's and comparing it to todays bikes then moaning about the 70's bike is just dumb-ass!

I bought a new AMF Sporster back in 1974. Transmission popping out of gear all the time and several burned out pistons. The rear sprocket rivets were too small and pulled out. I got bigger rivets from a farm supply, and replaced all the small ones. Friends of mine ended up following my fix to their rear sprocket. It was back to Japanese bikes after that.

You don't have a clue what classic bike riders are looking for. These bikes will not compete with a modern MotoGP replicas in power acceleration, handling, breaking. So what? They don't compete with my 20 year old VFR, you probably would have a problem to compete with my VFR on my roads here in France. Let me get specific. Norton Combat Commando 750, I use that in my Production racer. It had one fault the main bearings. That was fixed 6 months from the launch. It takes me 4 hours to replace those with FAG Rollers or the later Superblend. If you have a Combat Commando you don't want give it to me. Kawasaki H2 Triple? Give it to me. You will have such an exciting ride you will P**s your pants It is so difficult to find a near original H2 with original pipes, give it to me. Z1 Kawasaki, you are Mental, not my style of bike but see what prices a near original Z1 goes for. Give it to me. After that, any of the Suzuki offroad bikes Give it to me. I had a Suzuki PE175 Enduro, it was SO fast Give me a 400? I would P*** my pants.
