Being the child of an alcoholic is not easy and we are forever changed by our drunk or high parent's behavior, even when they are clean and sober. I used to attend ACOA, Adult Children of Alcoholics meetings and need to go back again. So much to learn from attending those meetings!
It was hard to listen to this story. I do not hide that I cried too.
I would like to tell you that you are doing a great job. The most important thing is that you were able to visualize your father's mistakes and that you do not want to repeat them. I would like to greet and wish you all good, to you and your family, because you really deserve it.

I just watched this video and it brought tears to my eyes... You are an amazing Dad and man. You were the first youtuber I ever watched, the first who brought sunshine into my life (almost 6years ago). I know you guys have your own lives and sometimes you can find yourself into dark places, because you are just human. But what you did to me was amazing, you made me smile every single day. You made me want to keep on dreaming and fulfill my dreams. I watched and am still watching your children grow up, and to see how your family is strong is amazing. Family is everything. Keep on being an amazing Dad, an amazing husband, and an amazing man for people around you and for yourself.

I feel you, same hear, i was scared as a kid that i come home and my mother would be beaten to death. there was always fighting. once when i was 10 it got heavy and the husband of my mom beated her infront of me, i tried to step in but he just kicked me away. i grapped my young sister (2) and fled to the neighbours. this will hunt me forever.
This is amazing. I’m due to give birth to my first child, a boy, any day now. I often think about how i’m going to teach him to respect and love himself and others. This is some real stuff 👏👏👏
