Yes. I’m glad others are waking up too before it is too late. If your neighbor does not recover, you do not recover. Strength in numbers.....together......not divided. The recovery has not been the same for everyone. The struggle is indeed very real. It should never be this complicated. The federal government was quick to see my home as a total loss.....but why has the assistance stopped at the state and local government level? What now? No one has answers and they should. No home buyout. No grant funding. No loan. Incorrect tax values. Vacant homes. Unreturned phone calls. Bounced emails. No public forums. A big failing mess. It’s easy to understand why folks are walking away. The american dream is an american nightmare for some of us. It shouldn’t be that way. There is no excuse for it. It is our very own Hurricane Katrina. The bubble will burst. A safe home should not be a camper life or a tent life. It is scandalous. Eventually, that bond referendum will come for those that turn a blind eye and remain.
