Software updates on Fronius SnapINverters via USB

Software updates on Fronius SnapINverters can be applied to fix any software related bugs or to fix any software related state codes. Fronius SnapINverters, which are setup for online monitoring have the remote software update feature enabled and can be remotely updated through Fronius Solar.web. For systems which are not setup for online monitoring, the inverter software updates can be applied via the inverter’s USB port. Before connecting the USB stick must select the no log in logging interval and then start the update process.

After I update and the loss show successfully updated, the system has not upgraded. I can put the USB back in and update it over an over with no change to Firmware

Hello after the update to fronius primo 5.0-1 it takes me more energy from the network than from photovoltaic panels before it took from the network about 5w 15 w maximum 20 w now it takes about 100w 140w do you know what can be the cause?

By updating is any data stored in the logs whipped? I want to know this so the service company can still access the history of needed. Thanks.

Hi Dave! Regarding the customer question, the inverter update don't affect the history of the inverter, the history data is safe and nothing is lost after the update.

What does unexpected exception (p963) mean?

This error message appears if try to update an inverter with a very old software version to the latest software version. Contact Fronius Techsupport in this case.
