- This week we take a visit to the Arai Europe HQ in Netherlands. Arai have supported me throughout the whole of my career & I'm very proud to race in their helmets.
From their European office - full factory support from Mr Arai himself. We even go behind closed doors to their top secret testing facility.

Helmets have come along way since my polycarbonate orange Kangol Stadium with its Visor studs that rattled something shocking. I once headbutted a telegraph pole at 90mph wearing a Kiwi, the top was crushed flat and the stress fractures around the sides impressive spreading the impact forces, saved my life I reckon and hangs in my garage of just how lucky I am to be here...
PS.... Every Aria video should have a Joey helmet in it... Epic..

Started riding in 1987 with an AGV and wasn't impressed. All the racers I admired seemed to be in Arais so bit the bullet and bought one - like night and day. Still wear Arai, never worn anything since. Nice photo of your dad, I remember him at the TT. Take care and all the best for this season, keep that Toprak fella at bay, he seems to want that number one plate!
An Arai helmet is a great investment in myself.

People asked me why spend 650 euros on the new Arai Quantic, I mean just watch their testing, they dont want to barely pass, they build it so the helmets pass with flying colors, why satisfy with a D when you can get an A+, in the end, your bones will heal, but head damage cant be reversed, and thats why I buy Arai.

I have the RX7-V JR rep got it for the 5th World title. I must say it is one of the best helmets I have had and would happily pay the £££ for another in the future. An Oakley stick would be top 👌 on it also if you get a chance to read this. Good luck for the rest of the season.
On my 5th Arai helmet in the last 20 years and will always recommend them after a crash at 80 mph where i was thrown high and came down head first and my head hit the deck on at least 3 different occasions during the crash (judging by the gouges and scrape marks) and i walked away without even a headache thanks to the Arai Tour X4 i was wearing. Yes they cost more than some other brands but the build quality is excellent. Thanks for the behind the scenes tour and "domo arigato" to Arai san for protecting my head
That was a great tour, thanks JR. I have an Arai Nicky Hayden edition. One day I'll buy a JR65 edition to look the full part on my ZX10R. I'd love an Oakley sticker too if you have an extra!

All I wear when riding is Arai helmets, they have the best fit and designs. I have 3 Scott Russel replicas, all autographed by Scott.
Just bought a Nicky Hayden replica from 2017, cause I’ve got 2 of his used akrapovic exhaust pipes and I’ve got to say, the Arai helmets really are great helmets with about a dozen of fancy air vents and stuff. One of the other reason I bought one of these helmets was, because I’ve been a big fan of yours and I really enjoy watching you racing. Maybe I’ll buy one of your replica’s too, if I got the money again. Just got my theory-exam done for my A1 motorcycle-licence.

The hands down best made helmet in the world bar none! I still have my original Doohan (wall art 🎨 now) but unfortunately the new ones are a bit out of my price range 😕😢.
Solid colours are on the cheaper side..
ARAI RX7V is a quality, comfortable, fantastic lid.
A few freebie stickers would be lovely.
For me arai have the best fit for my head shape. I was going to get a JR replica but a new joey dunlop replica came out so got it instead

£700 is cheap compared to a lifetime of head injuries. Crazy how ppl will spend thousands on a bike then buy the cheapest lid they can get.

I've a hjc that cost me 400 and thing is a beast it's not an arai rx 7g but it's a fine bit of kit, your comment wether you realise it or not suggested I thought 700 wasn't worth being safe which isn't what I was saying.

Its a well known fact that arai and shoei are the best helmets, but also expensive
I've had Shoei Qwest for a few years but it's become loose. Would Arai be comfortable for that type of shell/head?

Arai are very customisable. As JR says, you can get lots of different inner pads to make them fit well.
I bought my first arai helmet this year and found it the most comfortable one I’ve ever had it was a rx7 but after two ride I found two very small marks in the paint which I sent back to shop for inspection which they sent helmet back and said it was a stone chip so they would do any thing about it this helmet brand new was over 700 pound uk so I’m stuck with this so the warranty I would be very care full with u spend a lot of money on a nice paint job and the little marks to ruin it u will be stuck with it I find it very bad service for some so very expensive I only rode the bike twice before marks where on there
So if you get a stone chip on your bike do you expect the bike manufacturer to sort the paintwork out for you on warranty? It's wear and tear, stone chips happen, if you can't cope with it put it on a shelf and don't use it or get it vinyl wrapped. It's not Arai's fault shit happens.
But this is also my point one of the marks is far to small to be a stone chip
The plastic is bad quality though my plastics broke when i opened the mouth intake and when my dad did it on his arai the whole mouth intake fell off so i don’t think i will buy an arai again :-(

Out of 17 different models of Arai full face helmets tested by SHARP, only 3 achieved the 5 star rating. Several scored as low as 3 stars and one model (Condor) only 2 stars.
26 years wearing Arai helmets. The absolute best. I've kept them all over that time. Even ones which I had to stop using after a big accident. I'm positive they've saved me at least two bad head injuries.

To be honest, the helmet is really not the prettiest, it looks so old school.
The visor is too small for me personally from the height. Of course it is one of the safest helmets but also one of the most expensive.
But still cool video and rea is really a cool nice guy.
