I'm Italian and I don't like Wilder, but amateur boxing has a completely different approach. Everything is bet on 3Round and the judges' decisions reward the style that the effectiveness of the punches ... Unfortunately Russo never turned pro I would have liked to see him for 12 rounds ... Wilder arrived at the Olympics after two years of starting boxing, he is not a technical giant but with a terrifying punch, and in professionalism this with much more weight ...

Tyson Fury clearly watched this fight. Wilder never learned how to box and can't fight when he's forced backwards and off balance. He can't throw his right when crowded or off his back foot. He got by and made a fortune with pure athleticism and his right against very, very carefully cherry-picked opponents. Fury was the first pro he fought who could box and wasn't 700 years old.

@@ImbetterthanDWade his pro resume was cherry picked. Any literate person can read the names. It's also pretty much common knowledge. The amateurs are not the pros, he got as far as he did by being an elite athlete and punching. However, he got exposed in the Russo. Watch the Clemente Russo fight in the 2008 Olympics and then read the names and rankings on his resume. If you take out Fury, he fought ONE universally ranked pro in his whole pro career, middle aged Luis Ortiz was ranked 6. That's it. 43 or however many fights, 11 title defenses, two universally ranked opponents, one was 40 years old, the other beat him up three times. It's not excuses, it's facts readily available to anybody and commonly known within boxing.
