- In this video, we're going to talk about Rowoon's military service and whether he can be exempt from enlistment.
And for those who are fans of Rowoon, you know that he has a herniated disc in his spine, so since 2020, he had to be absent from SF9 group commitments, to which he belonged. So, we're considering the possibility of him being exempt from the army!
But can this happen?
Stay with me until the end of the video to find out all the possibilities he has!

Rowoon would never ask for exemption. He is a responsible and dutiful person and will do his best to honor the mandatory service order. He may serve in a non active duty roll to do his part to serve his country.
Yes, I agree. I believe that if an exemption comes, it will likely be from the army itself. That's what I mentioned in the video. They are aware of the delicate situation at the border. However, many fans were thinking that he wouldn't join the army, and that he might already be exempt due to his back problem. Since there were many questions about this, I made this video explaining the options he has and which one he will likely choose!
He should serve in the way that all the rest has to do! How ridiculous it would be to exempt him! He’s an actor fir gods sake and no one special! Tbh he can’t even act so there would be no loss to the entertainment world! 😊
His acting is fine and he gets better with each role He was perfection in Destined With You
@@K-popdrama365 If Rowoon has even the slightest problem with his back, it's already a big problem ... and specifically in the future. I know where a "small" back problem leads. Just don't go into the army under any circumstances. The army will break your back even more... Now take your pride away and think for yourself... finally 💗💗
And you have fulfilled the task, even if you have your back... almost scattered... like Rowoon... 😕😕 Really???
22 months is a long time not being able to see Rowoon. I hope he will be ok. ❤❤
Let's keep rooting for him, hoping for a peaceful military service! ❤❤
Let's hope he gets only social worker duty...he would be an outstanding advocate for public service ...
I'm betting he'll fit in as a public servant! Let's cheer for him, may everything align in the best way, especially thinking about his health!
I believe Lee Mn Ho did public service for his previous leg injury so if so Rowoon would most likely do the same
Praying for his continued success and prayers for his exemption.
I would also like him to be exempt from going. Let's hope for the best.🙏
Rowoon looks so handsome in military uniform!!!❤❤❤😂😂😂
This man is handsome in every way! 😂😂😂❤❤❤
He will definitely serve but if assessed as unfit for active duty will serve a public service enlistment. Herniated discs are painful but can heal. They often reoccur if the movement that caused it continues. I had two herniated discs a few times in my last few years of working each time I needed a couple of weeks off to help heal it. As a nurse it went with a territory in some ways and it was only triggered if I did the same repetitive movement. This will all be assessed by the military medical board. I have two sons who are also tall like Rowan, one even taller and they both have back issues because bending and stooping is harder on them. Rowan will do what is asked of him as most men in Korea do, whether it’s active duty or public service. It is 21 months not 22 months!
Yes, it's a serious issue! He has to be very careful not to exacerbate it, which is why he also left his career in K-pop! That's precisely why many fans were thinking he was exempt from military service!
We'll have to wait for the doctors' decision.
As a nurse i want to say that a herniated disc is incredibly painful. Speculation by anybody thats not a neurologist or back pain specialist is ridiculous. The human body is not like the engine of a car. Every human body is different. This condition can cause numbness in the arms and legs. Do you want him handling weapons with numb arms ? Get real. Let the doctor's all decide.
Thank you for engaging, your opinion is very important here on the channel! Exactly, that's what was said in the video, that he will undergo physical and psychological tests conducted by doctors, and after that it will be decided which of these modalities I explained he will fit into, or if he will be exempt. However, based on previous records that we have seen, it is highly likely that he will serve in the public service modality. But as also mentioned in the video, we will have to wait to see what will happen! The important thing is that the outcome is the best for him and his health, his well-being... Because as fans, we root for him a lot! 😉
So sorry but my attempt at educating people was directed at the fans and their comments. People that were acting like he'll enlist simply because he's expected to. I was trying to educate people regarding numbness in arms and legs. As with all medical conditions they can be mild to severe. Depending on the body affected.
@@aqua_eyez this comment was actually much needed thank you so much for this.
Some people "fans" think they know about everything and then want to impose their opinion on their idols
As long as he’s healthy it will be good for him❤❤❤😊😊😊
That's what matters most! ❤❤😊😊
Why? How?
😂 pretty sure Rowoon is responsible enough and with his humility will not ask for exemption .Thats why he is respected and admired by many.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤❤❤
Yes, I was sure of that from the beginning! But some fans were hoping he would be exempted because of his back problem. He will certainly fulfill his duty, and we'll be here rooting for him to have a smooth military service and return soon to our screens...❤❤❤❤❤❤
The taller the person, the more likely to have problems with the spine. It goes back to human evolution and man not made to walk totally upright etc. Rowoon is very tall so has a long spine. This is not surprising to me.
Yes, and he was also an idol; typically, many of them develop spine issues due to their demanding training routines!
Whatever the outcome for Rowoon, he will definitely be in our prayers. ❤❤❤❤
Yes, hoping that the decision is the best for your health!❤
How about shortening the mandatory time to just 1 yr for everyone! 18 -22 months so long and that’s why so many men want to flee 😂 I don’t blame them.
Patriotism can’t be forced , it has to be from the heart ♥️ willingness.
Actually, this time has been reduced, it used to be much longer!
Yes, I also agree it's pretty tough to do something forced, and they have to put everything on hold in their lives for this time, earning practically nothing for it. But there's a big weight in terms of border protection between the two Koreas, the tension is very high, the two countries are technically at war, it's really a complicated situation.
Artists and K-pop idols generate a lot of money in the country, the number of tourists who go there just to see where the dramas are filmed, and for the government not to exempt even them, it's because the situation is delicate.
I also really wish they were exempt from military service!
I have herniated disc and it is not even as bad as someone very active like Rowoon. It hurts like hell. Imagine being in active duty that you can't even hold a gun, run with a gun and engage in active or simulated battle.
Yes, and that's why many of us fans thought he would be exempt from military service, but based on other cases of idols with this condition that we've been following, it's likely that he will serve as a public service worker.
I'm hoping that he will be exempt.
Health is wealth. They can put them on a lighter duties. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. They are all very young.😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
I believe that will be the path, it's unlikely that he will go into active duty.
I m sure he will accept the decision from the Army. If they decide to be able for active serve normaly he will do it so. But if they decide a public service he will will do it with his incredible commitment, responsibility and endurance. 🫠🤗🫠🤗🫠😘
Yes, he will fulfill his duty to the country, they are very aware that the country needs them! It's more of a wish from the fans, but we have to root for what's best for him and his health!
Honestly don’t know what I’ll do if he enters this year that would be both both Rowoon and Song Kang I don’t think I can bear it 😂 ❤
Good thing he's not entering this year, he's already leading a project, so I think he'll postpone a little longer, maybe when Song Kang is closer to returning!
Most importantly, it is his health and surely the medical record. Nevertheless, he is strong and responsible, I will support him. Jesus bless. Sincerely yours!
Yes, rooting for the decision to be the best for his health. And we're rooting for him!
😭😭😭😭😭😭 i don’t wanna send him to military 😢😢😢😢
I hate when people say that Rowoon has a "herniated disc", when he has explained that he has had a bad back since he was a teenager, and it was hereditary. This makes it a bit more severe in my opinion.
I understand your point, but I think when people mention a herniated disc, they are referring to what was officially stated, not the root of the problem. And it's still a back issue. It's treatable, and it can improve if the person follows the treatment correctly, but it remains something to be mindful of.
I personally have this back issue, I have two herniated discs, and I always need to pay close attention to preventive care to avoid a flare-up or worsening the situation. I'm constantly correcting my posture, being cautious with certain types of physical exercises, and taking care of myself.
I think the most important thing, regardless of how we refer to it, is his health and physical well-being. After all, we fans always think of them with care and wish the best for them!
@@K-popdrama365 Yeah, that's true. Thank you for explaining in detail.
I’m the one who should thank you for sharing your thoughts! I think it’s really cool and important that we exchange ideas like this in the comments! 😉
@K-popdrama365 Thank YOU! And I hope things get better for you, as well. My dad had to go through back surgery, has rods in his back and pain.
Eu espero que ele seja insento do serviço militar..😢😢❤❤
Também gostaria, vamos ficar na torcida!
Back pain is a killer!!
If ever Rowoon receives an exemption or is assigned to public service instead and not active duty. It will be because of what the Military decides NOT because of what Rowoon wants or requests.
Yes, the decision will be up to the military. Before enlisting, men have the opportunity to present a medical certificate if they have any comorbidities, but I also believe he won't do that. Then, during the physical examination, they'll determine which category he fits into or if he will be exempt.
I will not worry about his back. Whatever issues he had with the back were most likely resolved because he is doing action and is pretty physical on some of his shows. This will not exempt him from military but you never know. I think he should focus on his acting career, I don’t think can handle him going away for 2 years 😢
I believe he won't be exempt from military service, but it's quite likely he'll fit into a lighter duty! It's going to be hard for us fans to go so long without dramas featuring him; I hope he already has some ready to go!
His action scenes are just choreography/dance moves. Sometimes, moving is not the cause of herniated dics. I have the same problem. There are certain actions that make the discs worst and hurt like hell. It depends on the patient and how their body reacts. Believe me actors are pampered when it comes to action scenes. The production company does not want to hurt their investment and do not want to file an insurance claim against their star.
Safety first...
Yes, I hope they make the best decision with his health in mind!❤
Poor him😪😥😢😭
😢😭
😂😂😂❤❤🙏🙏🙏
No surgery, try every other modality!!!
No, he's okay, he underwent treatments for recovery, and he won't undergo surgery. To join the army, he will undergo physical tests for specialists to assess whether he can serve or not, and in which capacity he would fit, whether in active duty or as a public servant.
That is correct. I personally 5 people who had spinal surgery. All of them became worse over time. I think it is called Adjacent Segment Disease, wherein other vetebrae will soon follow to be damaged. Which will require further surgeries. He and the military would not want an initial surgery of even additional surgeries due to Adjacent Segment Disease.
he will do community work just like suga...
Yes, I think so too!
when will he enlist?
He has the next 2 years to enlist, which is his deadline. I believe he should leave it for 2025 or early 2026; this year he already has projects.
😢😢😢❤
😢😢😢 I don't want this moment to come!
'promo sm'
😢❤
ROWON nice guy!!
!!but I’m glad that he will become a real man! But what’s strange !! he was running and jumping around the stage!!!
and when the time came to join the army suddenly back got sick
No... He isn’t suddenly sick... He has back pain from a long period of time... For this reason and a back injury he has to leave his idol group as he can't dance like before. Though he is recovering well and doling his acting tasks well. So may be he will be able to do his military task as well too.
Yes, he's had this problem since 2020! We'll have to wait for this phase of exams to see which category he'll fit into, but I believe he will be fit to go, maybe not in active duty, but he should fulfill his obligation in a lighter service.
No, why should he be! He’s an able bodied male and
he must do like all the others and do his bit for his country! There’s no way he should be exempt! They tried this with BTS and it did t work! If these are the rules then he has to abide by them, just like everyone else! Rules are for all, not just the hard working everyday man!
Yes, the situation at the border between the two Koreas is quite delicate, they understand the country's needs. Many fans were already thinking that he would be exempt, but in fact, he will still go through this whole process, and probably won't serve in active duty but rather in a lighter role, but yes, he should go!
Rowoon and BTS are not the same. BTS put Kpop in global arena. Their cultural and economic impact is why they deserve exemption. In one study, 1 in every 13 tourists came to South Korea for BTS...but seventeen's SCoups was exempted so maybe he can be... but then he shouldn't be able to do any tough action scenes in the future right because he's weak?
No, don’t take him😢
I'll be devastated when that time comes! I hope he leaves many new projects for us so that it doesn't feel like it will take too long for him to come back!
