Welcome back to the 4th Chapter of Sandakphu Diaries!
Today, we're setting off towards our final trekking destination, Sandakphu. After traversing a 6km path, through various types of forests, uphill and downhill, we will reach Sandakphu, the highest point in West Bengal.
In this travel vlog, we'll uncover the hidden gems of Sandakphu, sharing an authentic glimpse of our adventure. Our lodge, Sunrise Hotel offered us front-row seats to witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over two of the world's tallest peaks - the magnificent Kanchenjunga and the legendary Everest. But Sandakphu isn't just about picturesque sunrises; it's a trekker's paradise. We navigated through dense Rhododendron forests, embraced challenging trails, and conquered each ascent with unwavering determination. And as we reached the summit, the sweeping panorama of the Himalayan giants left us speechless.
Sandakphu also known as the 'mountain of poisonous plants' because of the abundance of Himalayan Cobra Lilies. At an altitude of 3636mt, Sandakphu is famous for being the 'Trekkers Wonderland' since it offers one of the most astounding sights of the four out of the five highest peaks in the world, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Lhotse to the trekkers.
There are many homestays here, but Sunrise Hotel is generally the first preference. The view from its terrace is spectacular. Looking at Everest from here, it seems smaller than Makalu, probably due to the distance. It's like your heart contracts, and your eyes find tranquility in this view.
Our trek was not just successful, but very, very successful. We concluded our trek here. Our tired legs will soon take us to the waiting vehicle for our journey to Phalut. Our final destination for this trip is Phalut. The remaining 21km and the challenging path won't be an easy journey.
United with the Kanchenjunga and Everest, we set off towards Phalut.
