That was definitely an adventurous day for sure getting those loads out of the portage fields lol! Awesome work Chris as always! Your work ethic and drive are amazing! Thanks for having us along on all your fun adventures! Such great content back in the early days! More people / subs should be going back an checking out all these great videos! I’m hoping to some day get through them all eventually! Lol. See you soon! Andrew from NB :)
WOW What a score! Around here no one gives anything away for free lol. I did score today myself, a guy I recently became friends with does logging and buying etc. he sold me a tri axle of hardwood logs for 200 bucks! and a hotdog and coffee at the next hockey game and says he can get me as much as I want. Easily 10-12 cords of wood on each truck.
You and me both! But remember slow and steady wins the race! I don't borrow money so I will upgrade as I NEED to and as I have cash to pay for toys! Thanks for watching and commenting again!
We found same issue with trailer tires on our safety trailers here in northern Canada we ended putting truck tires on n they last way longer, more plies
had guy come for a load of wood in two wheel drive today had to pull him 3 times to get him out of the wood yard ...Ford Ranger pulling a Dodge 2 wheel...LOL
@@InTheWoodyard Yes. It's my hobby. I love every process about firewood. I'm working hard too sell how much that i can. Somehow, you give me motivation to continue my journey. Do you guys use the the term "Noodling" for ripping rounds like we do down South? I've always assumed the term came from the shape of the noodle that comes out of the saw. Also, the intro music sounds a lot like a break (or maybe a bridge) on Whipping Post by the Allman Brothers Band.
Ya, I've always said ripping myself but some say noodling or curllyquews. The music is from IMOVIE stock, but you have a good ear, it does a bit. Whipping post is one of my all time favorites! Have you heard Chris Stapletons version? I'ts awesome!
Hello Patrick! I'm from way up in the great white north, Appleton Wisconsin! I'm a few months behind on editing and uploading my videos so I'm working like a crazzzy Bears fan trying to get caught as fast as I can! Thanks for watching!
Love the channel but damn, my back hurts watching you lifting not using your legs. Not telling you how to work but save your back brother. Hope you have a back supporter under your clothes.
@@InTheWoodyard you are probably not lying. BTW think you can make a vid on how to lay out your wood to get airflow, how many rows on a pallet etc etc. Or if you have one already can you link it? Thanks
I have a few that touch on it but I would have to watch a bunch to find the too, so maybe just browse through them. I might do a separate video about just that.
I need to get better identifying wood types. Because I would have mistaken that Ash for Cottonwood because of that thick bark. Not good! Ash is probably my favorite wood to have for personal use.
I love ash. It cuts and splits so easy and it dries fast. All of it here for the most part is dead. Just have to be careful you get it cut and out the woods fast. I have a handful blow down every winter and by spring if I don't get it cut up and out of there if I don't get it then it will be punky junk. Lot of it too it seems either the top or butt end is rotten one or both on half or better the trees that come down on their own. I had somebody I sold wood to this fall complaining about ash. That he had got a few face cords from somebody else and it was just ash. He was real happy with what I sold him. I just had it mixed but the piles he picked was mostly cherry and maple. Not sure what is to complain about with ash. I would rather have hickory or oak but there is tons of ash and its basically ready to burn when it hits the ground. Not sure much else can even be done with the ash besides firewood. I know there was a ban that ash couldn't even leave the area unless that ban is lifted. If it can't leave the area as firewood not sure how it could leave as lumber. Damn ash borer has ruined almost all the ash around here. Sure it has most everywhere by now so maybe there is no need for the ban anymore. See it everywhere here. People clearing out woods you see piles of ash logs by the road just clear cutting the woods of the ash.

No not until the snow melts.

In The Woodyard I’m 14 and I just bought a giant hydrolec cyliander. My grandpa and I are building a firewood processor
Pennsylvania. And yeah he is great. Firewood in my area goes for 165 to 180 a cord. I sell mine for 165 a cord.

Adam, the fact that you want to learn is half of the battle. I have been identifying trees for 50+ years and I still have a lot to learn!
