Great style of video making love that you show behind the scenes, and give tips and settings as well. Do you use Nd filters on your drones, if so which ones, be good to more about how you use them.
Thanks Barry! To be perfectly honest I cant actually remember. I am going to assume I did use an ND16 just to keep the sky exposed and to keep the shutter at 1/100. The good thing with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro is that you can change the exposure settings whilst flying 🙂.
I’ve nearly been caught out with lowbbattery before. Getting a hyper lapse over the river and it was the closest I’ve come to loosing my air 2. I asked DJI, as well as numerous drone groups, and they said that it’ll go further on normal mode! I know it’s counterintuitive, and I still will come home in sports mode, but just thought I’d mention that here. That’s what the rth would do I expect. Cheers buddy. I’m glad I found your channel. I’m at the other end (Cornwall) but have spent few weeks driving around Scotland in the van. Plan on getting back up there soon as I had no drone when I visited last. Deffo keen to check this location out.
I'm still yet to visit Dunnottar castle, it looks great from what I've seen of it! I can agree with when you said that the windy weather can sometimes be nerve wracking 😅 I enjoyed watching this overall!
Thanks for the kind words Hana! Yeah it’s a beautiful wee spot. One thing I was going to mention in the video but I left out was that I saw someone walking towards the castle with their Mavic Mini and they never came back with it! That sea is a grave yard for many drones! Considered myself lucky 😅.
Beautiful shots, the drone handled the wind great is it Mavic 2 Pro? Interesting to see what your settings are at sunrise for video and pic's, I got the Mavic 3 and it's rock solid in the wind, thanks for the video 👍
Thanks! This is my favourite video I have posted to the channel, as it shows a raw side to what it is like to fly a drone and speak out what goes through the mind whilst flying. The Mavic 2 Pro handles the wind too well than what the DJI specs give, but sports mode helps flying through the gusts. For the photos, I took an AEB RAW photo for higher and lower exposures, and panned around to make it into a panoramic HDR Panoramic picture in Adobe Lightroom, I will follow up a ‘how to’ video in near future. As for video, I make sure I have the sky exposed correctly as a priority and try have the subject exposed as much as I can, I also film in 10 bit to recover the shadows as much as I can, but sometimes a silhouette can look much nicer 🙂. Any questions you have feel free to ask my friend 😄
@@GlenCairnsVideoProductions cheers mate, I started with the Mavic Air 2 and pretty much left everything in auto then got the DJI fpv and do the same, i dont own a GoPro but I might need to invest as that Reelsteady is a game changer, I do own a Insta360 OneR so I mounted that on my fpv but then I couldn't aquire enough Sat's only about 8 or so so couldn't get above about 30 feet, I seen in your Reelsteady vid you turned GPS off on your GoPro, I didn't do that so maybe that's the issue, I got the Mavic 3 Flymore and I'm learning to use manual settings and try not to use auto, I know about 180" rule and stuff for motion blur but variable apertures and f stops are all new to me.
@@DroningaboutIreland yeah I have been there, it is a learning curve, however once you crack it you are invincible, I would love to have covered so much in my channel to accommodate your needs, however I haven’t gotten that far, and I started off by learning from Stuart & Alina, link found here: ua-cam.com/users/DroneFilmGuide Their videos are straight to the point no messing about 🙂.
@@GlenCairnsVideoProductions I follow these guys they know their onions all right, good luck with your channel I'm sure you'll do great as you come across clear and concise and your work is fantastic, I've subbed and looking forward to seeing what's coming, the viaduct shot on your Instagram is jaw dropping, fair play 👍
Had a brown trouser moment where my 30% charge quickly dropped and started a forced landing towards the water, dont know how i managed to keep it from being lost , just keeping left stick up i managed to steer it onto a harbour pier in Port Glasgow near James watt docks Marina, i then had to drive round to HMNB Greenock and ask the Security gate nicely if i could enter and retrieve my drone. (thankfully there was someone stationed there on a weekend, i was shaking as that was nearly 1k in the Clyde but managed to "follow find my drone" to see it landed flashing and chirping at the end of the pier and it was blimmin roasting as battery was critically drained. lesson learned for me the battery percentage may not discharge in a linear fashion

Are you using a light for the camera for the talking head shots? If so what kind, looks really good 😁 Awesome video bud!
