- One-Pocket! The U.K.’s straight shooting Chris Melling was up against Alex Pagulayan, Filipino’s master at the “pocket apiece” game. Both players, at 41-years old, were finely tuned experienced cue men. The match was contested at the 2020 DCC One-Pocket division.
Nick Varner joined Mark Wilson in the booth.

Thank you accustats, you guys have been spoiling us lately!
Love watching Chris play. Such an accurate ball striker.
Varner is by far my favorite commentator.
That's duck soup right there.
Mark Wilson is my least favorite Commentator
Something about his nerdy laugh that I really like.
Chris Melling is one of my favorite players to watch. Alex isn't too bad when there is a shot clock on him - otherwise he's as slow as Archer and Duel. The whole video is just barely over one hour. So I'm guessing the match itself took about 50 minutes. That's all it should take for a race to 3 with world class players. Love this video. Wish all pool matches were played at the pace exercised in this match. Also want to point out that the announcers did a good job staying on the match and not being obtrusive with senseless chatter and inside jokes - like someone whom I will not name.
Can't say pro matches should take x minutes. When they make less defensive mistakes, pros can play many balls each without selling out anything. This match contains some more mistakes but still entertains with offensive beauties like this one --> 28:59 ...
Nice to hear The Kentucky Colonel commentating👍
I always like watching Chris Melling playing.
Two best lines:
'God don't like a coward, but he doesn't like a fool much better' (or something like that)
"Here comes the bridge, that's never a good sign with a snooker player'
I really like the last one best, but the first deserved mention, MHO.
Good aggressive one pocket, no surprise from these two. Pag just didn't look like he was cookin' with gas here...like he wasn't feeling great or something.
Don’t usually comment on stuff like this, but I want Melling’s shirt!
Mmmmmhmmmm
never seen Melling in one pocket and he impresses...blessings to all
Can you imagine if he played this growing up?
Wow! Great match!
The magician!!!
Mmmmhmmmm
One of the best tactical games I've seen
Great match
When was this? Which month of 2020? Was this before or after the Wuflu pandemic?
Derby City Classic is held in January, so it was before the pandemic started.
Funny how Nick was saying what a great shot Alex made, not that I'm disagreeing with him, and then Alex never got back to the table lol
Pat, STOP SAYING MMMM HMMMMMM! Jesus Christ help me!
It's a 1000 times better than having to hear Danny L say "he sold out" or "he missed it" (only to see the ball roll in), several hundred times a match.
Thanks Pat!
Mmmmmmmmhmmmmm
👽 vid. probed thx.
Even the best in the world have bad days that y tell everyone u can beat anybody in the world one set one time can u win two in a row or 3 out of 5 no lol but one set u can beat anyone one set like in big tournament they get discouraged when they see their next opponent in the bracket and it's a pro or famous player and have already lost mentally I try to tell them that and try to get them to believe it
The worse player ever is Alex
hahahahaha yusssssss ✊🤢👉🔪🐓💦🧠🐛 the michael vic of pool

@@xjcfreezy Of course, but I'm not the one disparaging Alex's game.
