It's a $100 challenge and it barely lasted him 24 hrs it seems. Times are rough all around if $100 USD lasts barely a day in Zimbabwe. Good video though.
@@MoreTravelsWithDrewBinskyyes! However, as governments do...they recall and invalidate old currency. Then they reset printers 🖨 and create new valid currency. I have been to Zambia and have heard of many conflicts, but not that one. I did some research and found that there was diplomatic conflict, but not armed. Perhaps it is a mistake.

I was actually shocked if this is Drew. This is incredibly subliminally racist. Maybe its the Gaza war but its shocking how vlogs are trying to show a dark continent but in a way that seems funny and shows the white mans burden
Clearly, I've been living under a rock to not know the decades long conflicts with my neighbour to the south. We need to take ownership of and rewrite our own history, or the West will expunge it and replace it with lies.

Hello Drew, I've been following you for many years, am a HUGE fan of yours and I'm thrilled that you finally visited my country. Yes, I'm a Zimbo (that's how we refer to ourselves here). However, I need to correct a few misconceptions from your video: 1. There has never been a conflict between Zimbabwe and Zambia, I mean NEVER. In fact, Zimbabwe and Zambia used to be part of the same country during colonial times. It was called the Rhodesian Federation (or Central African Federation (CAF)), and it consisted of present-day Zimbabwe (Southern Rhodesia), Malawi (Nyasaland), and Zambia (Northern Rhodesia) between 1953 and 1963. 2. The 100 trillion Zimbabwe dollar note belongs in a museum; it has been discontinued. Of course, it was printed during the periods of hyperinflation in 2008, but it was never worth US$100 as per your guide. In fact, it was only worth US$0.40. again thank you for visiting my country
So Drew, how did you get started with making travel videos and budgeting for travel? I've just started a travel agency in the UK and would love to make travel videos but it's tough getting started and getting clients. Any advice you want to give me?
Big fan of Drew but being a dual citizen of Zimbabwe and Zambia there r a couple of issues from my side. Firstly that note is not legal tender anymore so for u to say it's equal to $100 is false. 2ndly, those groceries u got for the community, no way that could cost only $20. 3rdly, there is no conflict in Zimbabwe or Zambia so again, false. Otherwise, great content!!
The $1 drink...you handed over a 10 dollar bill, lol! Not knocking you, just being too observant. Great video, I never realized how much civilization has spread across the gold coast the past 50-60 years.
Zimbabwe's central bank allowed its citizens to exchange the country's almost worthless currency for US dollars. Its 100-trillion-dollar note is worth just 40 U.S. cents.

Those white cooking pots with the flowers on them, my grandmother bought me a set when I was five in 1985 and I still use them every week. If I had one of those I'd hold on to it forever. If the economy of Zimbabwe improves even a little bit the proportions would be enough for me to become the richest man alive!
