In this video we investigate a variety of weaknesses on our favorite double stroller, the Bugaboo Donkey, which have sadly shown it to have a shorter lifespan than we would have liked, now that we have the benefit of 8 years of hindsight. We also address ways in which you can mitigate these weaknesses if you want the pleasure of using this very convenient stroller.
In order to keep our recommendations up to date, we maintain a 'Buyer's Guide' on our Patreon page (with a wide spectrum of models, and a lot of technical and lifestyle-related information). Organizing our recommendations this way makes it easier to include good models that we haven't made review-videos for yet, as well as to remove models which have developed unforeseen wear-issues over time, or which have been weakened by the manufacturer in their current iterations. You can access it here: www.patreon.com/posts/stroller-buyers-37953864 As an independent, consumer-oriented reviewer, we have fewer revenue-streams open to us than the majority of other channels out there, so we do ask for a small donation for access to this guide (as well as a free consultation and access to our other Patreon content). Thanks so much for your help!
Thanks! good videos with very useful information for bugaboo users
Phew! Definitely avoiding this one! Was possibly considering one of these for park, beach, and camping use (used since we've never even paid that much for a vehicle so we're not paying that much for a stroller) but this means that anything we could get our hands on wouldnt serve the purposes we'd be buying it for!
very useful thanks!. Audio issue though. It was areal struggle to hear on full volume.
I know, sorry, we've upped the equipment in later videos :)
How would I fix an issue with my handle dropping back while pushing on one side only? My central locking mech is as tight as possible
I think I got lucky, I got one from 2017 and it still works. They had used it with twins though, so hadn't switched from mono to double a lot they just kept it in double. So that might be why
Can you do a video on the longevity and common problems of the uppa baby vista?? I’m looking at both the donkey and the vista and I am trying to decide which would be best long term.
Sure :) We're waiting for the 2020 model to come out, before we do any more Vista videos, but I'll be sure to include this info in the review :)
The Stroller Workshop Oh good. Thank you! 😊
Hiya, what can i do about the wobbling front wheels?
Hi my Bugaboo seat units both have cracks (one on each seat unit). Is it safe to use? If not how can I repair the crack or would I have to replace the seat unit altogether?
Wondering what your thoughts are regarding Silver Cross Coast v. Bugaboo Donkey?
In my experience, side-by-side two-child strollers are preferrable to in-line two-child strollers, because the wider footprint makes them more stable for driving on rougher terrain (in-line 2 child strollers feel, to me, sort of like driving a double-decker bus). But, I suppose this might be different for people who live in very smooth urban environments :)
Hi, very useful video. can you share advise where is your workshop - my donkey bugaboo has collapsing issue in standing open position - it seems issue with central locking hub on chassis
We're in Oslo, Norway. If you live here too, just google us and you'll find the nr. :)
Hi again. :-) do you have an unbiased opinion on the donkey2?
There's not that much difference between the Donkey 1 and 2, so what I say in this video still stands: the Donkey is my favorite 2-child stroller from a use-perspective (ease of use, child comfort, drivability), but at the same time, it's more or less bound to have problems related to looseness after 3-4 years.
