- In this video I show some ideas on different types of ham radio services and how they can be useful in an emergency situation. During a disaster the phones might not work, the internet might not work, the electric might not work so it's useful to have some backup ideas to communicate with loved ones, family and friends.
In case of a real emergency I wouldn't want to talk to some airhead ham impressing everyone with his own importance.
Ok thanks...
I've watched your videos and really enjoy them. I have an ICOM IC-706-MKIIG. Do you still do repairs? if I push the power button on and release, it doesn't even light up. I can hear like a switch clicking on and then immediately off. If I hold down the power button, sometimes it will fire up and look great. the second I take any pressure off the power button, it shuts down. HELP, PLEASE. K0OPG, NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA.
HI Greg... I actually did a video on no power for 706MKiiG a while back... Im sure there's more than 1 reason that this could happen, but I've had a lot of people say this fixed their radio.. You might want to check and see if this is your problem..

What do you think about Yaesu FTDX10 and FTDX-101MP. Mainly the V-Tune on the FTDX-101MP and FTDX-101D? Also the roofing filters and other noise reduction features. Is V-Tune the shit or what?
HI, I've never owned either one of them, but they look like sweet radios! A friend of mine has the 101mp and he really likes it.
😂i worked with hamm operators who discussed things like acid reflux, asthma, using their cpap and a host of personal ailments.
I used to call them HAMMSTERS!
Lol.... Yea they do discuss all sort of stuff like that... Fortunately not all the time.. 😂
Good job on the video I like it I'm actually studying to take my entry level I think it's the I can't remember the name I went out and bought a baofeng HP
Excellent! The Technician class license isn't to bad. Don't get me wrong, the Baofeng is a decent radio, especially to get your foot in the door with a big investment. It'll work great on a repeater. Any HT doesn't matter if it's Baofeng or a $500 icom doesn't have a lot of range just off the factory antenna... 😀
We miss you on the morning net Rudy. God Bless, Eddie
HI Eddie! I know right. Ive become a slacker on the NET.... 😀
