Hello and thanks for the video, Im putting a new 7 pin plug on my 2001 F350 my problem is the green turn signal wire have continuity to ground Im not sure about this , the lights works fine , but my battery goes dead after 2 days. I guess is time to start tracing wires.
If it’s possible I’m installing my taillight harness in my 96 f-250 and I’m not sure if it’s the same as your truck if possible what are the wire colors for the brake lights and tail lamp lights
For such an old truck, its kinda irrelevant. On a newer, nicer vehicle, sure. However, Id say this is a special case bc you can’t find these connectors anymore at least for cheap. On my own truck I bought a universal plug and cut out my old ones in the rear bc there was no saving them. PO made a rats nest of the wires. Wired it up all the same so I dont have to cut anything if I want to take my bumper off. Had to put in two of my own relays for trailer charge (the 12v in the video) and trailer parking because I didn’t have the tow package. I just cut the plugs in the engine bay where they would have plugged into a small factory 2 fuse box (which you cant find and is also horrendously expensive) and cleanly wired in two remote relays that cost me 7 bucks. I guess my point is there’s a line between practicality/originality and cost. For stuff you can’t see, it is what it is.
Thank you for making this video. I used it to locate the correct wiring and install a 7 blade receiver and brake controller on my 92 F250.
"Only for the saftey chains"😂😂😂
Towards the end....OWW!! OWWW!! Shit!! Goddamn thats hot!!! Been there, done that....funny shit brother... Nice job, and great video.
HaHa Thanks! Thought that was funny so had to leave that in there!
@@barnsandbrews so whit this u don’t have to run any wires from that fire wall to that back to that 7 pins plug

Weird yeah sounds like there might be a short somewhere. Good luck!

Man please don't cut factory connectors. Every auto parts store has those to either open pigtail or to match the input connector on your controller.
