- The Los Angeles Dodgers rode some clutch hitting and stellar relief pitching to beat the Giants, 6-4, in 10 innings. Four Dodgers (Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, Will Smith, and Gavin Lux) had two hits and at least one RBI each, plus a key pinch-hit homer for Kiké Hernandez, and the bullpen threw 4.1 scoreless innings to finish it off. The game ended on some characteristically good defense as Max Muncy and Lux turned a double play, which leads us to talk about how good the defense has been overall.

Mookie's first homer in nearly a month, set the tone, Yamamoto had 6 strikes, despite 2 straight walks in the end, and Dave Roberts made a move that turned out to be a smart one, took out Outman and replaced him with Kiki, and boom homer in the 7th, to tie it at 4, and in the 10th Will Smith 2 run double boost our lead to 2 and with great bullpen pitching with Vesia, Grove, Hudson, Treinen and JP Feyersian closing things out, his first save in 2 yrs, they combined with 7 strikeouts, 1 hit and 2 walks, that's getting it done, that's huge, especially when holding down the fort until Evan returns.

Ummm, the answer's in the question, right? (I assume it was a question, anyway, despite no punctuational clues.) The Dodgers have played excellent defense this year and they've hit very well this year, and both of those things showed in this particular game.
How can Lux and Outman continue to be in the line up.
Lux went 2 for 4 with an RBI which was better than anybody on the Dodgers last night against the Giants.
He and Outman play against right handed starting pitching.
That’s one game. He’s hitting below 200 and Outman even less. They aren’t gold glovers either to compensate. There’s a lot of room to upgrade these guys.
@@AP-qd9il he’s hitting .257 in his last 10 games and even better his last 7 and his avg is way up over .300 with risp.
Outman has been struggling way more at this point.
I think Lux deserves a bit more time. But idk about Outman..
@@kneelbeforezod2160Outman will almost certainly be optioned when Hayward returns. With Teo and Pages playing everyday, there's only room for one lefty platoon OF'er. Makes no sense to split those at bats and makes more sense for Outman to play everyday at OKC. Outman probably pressing because of Pages.
